So this was the totally unnecessary continuation of Missy and Roberts's story where they are now getting married and we watch them fight over a couch he bought but she doesn't want it because he didn't tell ger he will buy it beforehand (*shrug*)
also there is a story with the father and Jean wjich I totally didn't get but fine ..?
so yeah these books were a mess and I really forgot the story when I finished the book .. so glad they are over

I adored this sequel and the only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because I wish it were longer! I hope there is a third book that gives her father and Douglas the happily ever after they each deserve.

Missy’s Big Day

This sequel to Fried Chicken and Gravy was every bit as good as the first. These characters are like family now. I love how the book included faith to help them through situations, even to Big John phoning church members for prayer when he faced tough times. God used even that to provide the help that was needed, and I suspect another love story could be the result of those prayers. Missy’s bridal shower and Robert’s words were good lessons for us all. And the reminder to forgive as Jesus did on the cross was especially meaningful. Great series!

Loved the second book of this series. My only regret is that it was not longer!! I hope that the author will write more about this cast of characters, maybe as they get older, or focusing more on Douglas and his story. This was such a sweet, clean story, very light on romance, so much so that it could just be called a Christian story. There are a lot of humorous moments in the book, making this a very light-hearted read. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves to read Christian fiction.

Another Winner ☺

Just finished reading "The Moon in June. What a lovely book..it made me laugh in some parts, was full of good advice, and let's not forget the sweet romance between Missy and Robert. It had been a while since I had read the first book in this series, so after reading "Fried Chicken and Gravy" again, I dove into this one, and am so glad I did. Would definitely recommend this series.

It is harder after she says I will

You need to include the recipes to the dinners she made
A lot happens between the I will and the I do
It is best to have the first argument to see how both react if its bad you can say I won't
Do not have sex before the wedding for any reasons
That way you know you can work together in tough times
Meet all the relatives before because your kids will look like them
And worst act like them
It is never to late to back out until you say I do

Sweet Blessing!

The Moon in June was an excellent sequel!
The Elderly Angels are still meeting and sharing wisdom along with their recipes. I loved the sweet Bridal Shower Blessing they have Missy. ❤
Big John's faith has grown and his heart along with it.
It was fun visiting this time period and this "family" again.
Oh, also liked the Kentucky Fried Chicken 😉

Shorter than the first book, I also enjoyed this one! It continues the story of our main character, Missy. I felt that the storyline could’ve been expanded a bit in certain places, but still giving it five stars for being a fun, clean, lighthearted read.

A cute little sequel of the wedding planning and the struggles of preparing to be married. I’d love to see more on the Dad’s story finding love and even the son becoming a Christian. This sequel didn’t quite feel necessary, but it was sweet nonetheless.

A day close to heaven

A meandering tale of God's transforming power and how He changes us from the inside out. A satisfying conclusion to book one.

I was looking forward to reading more about Missy and Robert and, while their wedding story was fun, I got the most enjoyment out of Big John. A great read!
