Sheltered by Love
When Suzanne Jericho found out her supposed girlfriend was using her, she let her temper get the best of her. The result being two hundred hours of community service at the local Humane Society Shelter. The shelter is run by Lillie Stein, who moved back to her hometown with her daughter, Chrissy, leaving behind the chaotic and uptight life that entailed being part of a United States’ senator’s family.
Chrissy Stein spent most of her life being bullied because of her family. She blossomed when her mother moved her away from Washington D.C. and homeschooled her. Now, a vet tech at the shelter, Chrissy loves her life helping animals.
Jericho, as Suzanne prefers to be called, finds working at the shelter is not as easy as she thought it would be, but quickly realizes cleaning the kennels and grounds is just one of many things that make life better for the animals at the shelter.
Chrissy is devoted to helping animals and is not excited about having to babysit Jericho. But, as the two young women work together, they find that they have a lot in common, despite their very different backgrounds, including their love of animals.
Tornadoes, hurricanes, and animal rescues bring Chrissy and Jericho closer together as their relationship builds slowly from friendship to something more. But, will Jericho’s ex ruin everything for these two young women in her effort to hurt everyone she feels has let her down?

I liked most of it 3.5*
M.E. Tudor is one of my go to kU authors. I like her topics and her writing style. This book is about a teen who gets accused of vandalism by an ex and forced to to community service at an animal shelter. There she meets her boss and a relationship starts. It's a really good premise and both characters are likable enough. I just felt some things were constantly repeated and the book ran longer than it needed to be. Overall I I would say it's a 3.5 in my book

Excellent!
A great young adult story that will make you feel every emotions. Sheltered By Love is laced with drama, determination, hope, warmth and passion for the fur babies. Well written with very touching, heartbreaking moments and it has powerful characters. Highly recommended!

A really great story, I really enjoyed it! When soft butch Jericho has to do community service at a local humane society shelter, she meets the sweet yet determined Chrissy. Jericho is young and had a tough start (her mother was a drug addict) but Jericho's sweet and gentle nature made me love her. Chrissy was great, but Jericho was my favourite. She gets a lot of hassle from her bully-of-an-ex, and my heart broke for her when she burst into tears after being granted bail for the horrible stunt DiAndrea pulled. The ending was so satisfying! Great characters, well written, and a lovely story. It was refreshing to see a story with someone who's mother was a drug addict, lives in a trailer with her dad who spent time in jail (for a crime he didn't commit, but still), but the MC was strong and appeared well-adjusted for these issues, great relationship with her father, etc. Quite often the MC's have some sort of trauma responses after that sort of thing, but Jericho was independent, lovely, and charming 🥰 And it was nice that the author discussed those issues matter-of-factly as well, not taboo, or unheard of, or extra dramatic. This was my first book by this author but I look forward to another! I'm definitely curious to check out one of their erotic romances!

Made me feel old and pervy reading about the 21 and 18 year old MC's. (I'm 34 and this book just read so young!)
Not very well written, could definitely do with an editor and proofreader. Heck just throwing it through grammarly would have helped with some sentences having words missing or using the wrong pronoun. The dialogue was often strained.
I did like the overall story, but hated the teenaged angles and villainous storyline. It definitely had potential to be developed into something, but it was ultimately a let down, despite the super cute cover! What can I say, I'm a sucker for two cute chicks and a dog!

A very sweet story about two girls who come from different worlds, butch/femme YA and dogs everywhere. Chrissy is determined and strong despite her sheltered -no pun intended- life, Jericho is sensitive and considerate even though she has had a hard life so far and their mutual love for dogs and animals is one of the several things they have in common nevertheless their fear of being hurt by love might keep them apart.

This was a very good book depicting what life is like if you are gay in places like Kentucky. Jericho was a gentle soul that tried to pass as though to keep the bullies at bay. Chrissie was a sweet young woman who’d been hurt in the past and feared falling in love again. These two young women were slowly falling in love and feared being vulnerable but ultimately, love won out. Enjoyed it very much.

Trusting the right person with your heart
I loved this story and didn't want it to end. Jericho and Chrissy are an adorable couple. I love when the tables get turned on the bully. Jericho's family is no stranger to being in trouble but all is not as it seems. This story has a lot of emotions dealing with family and ex girlfriends. It's hard to open up and trust again. Fate has a way of bringing the right person into your life at the right time.

A book that covered everything from stalking to pitballs giving birth. A good story that verges on the mundane, strange given the plot and angst that was actually included. Recommended.

Well written
This book is well written with credible characters. I would have liked to have seen a paragraph explaining why DiAngela was so fixated on Jericho that she was willing to falsify evidence, lie to the police and commit perjury. It is rather bizarre psychotic behavior. The love story between Jericho and Chrissy was sweet. I do recommend the book.

The idea of the story seemed good, but the dialogue was unrealistic. Also, the very serious, non-sarcastic description of one of the character's breasts as "huge melons" threw me for a solid minute.
I cannot stress this enough, if you're going to have AA characters or characters with who you do not share the same physical traits, please don't use the word "exotic" to describe them. Plants are exotic, people aren't. ESPECIALLY when the character is native to the setting of the story.

Good story
I really enjoyed this story. Both Jericho and Chrissy seem to be good people. Jericho has had a tough time with a crazy, obsessive ex girlfriend. Worth reading!

I loved Sheltered by Love. A great feel good romance. Reminds you that people with bad intentions eventually get what’s coming to them. Loved it.

This is the best two-star book I’ve read this year. I dearly wish I could give it three stars, but it lacked both necessary developmental editing as well as basic copyediting. It avoided many of the worst literary crimes I’ve found committed in other one- and two-star books, but it also contained one howler of an error: In the middle of a sex scene, the author writes “Jericho obliged, eliciting a scream from Chrissy that any of her neighbors could have her.” Really? Chrissy was hoping for more folks to join them? Polygamy isn’t common within a lesbian romance. (I assume the author meant to say, “that any of her neighbors could have heard.”)
Anywho, this was an earnest, well-intentioned story, with a well-developed overall plot line. There were many inconsistencies (sometimes verging on absurdities) that suggest that the author needed the guidance of a editor. This author seems to have written a whole bunch of books, which makes me fear that sloppy development and editing are not just due to her being new to writing. A shame, this could have been a really solid offering.

Love
Chrissy and Jericho are two different people from two different backgrounds. A problem with the law brought them together and from there it took off. I like the plot of the story which involves crime, love, and enemies. I like the tone of the story that the characters are different were very responsible and loving, except for Jericho’s ex-girlfriend. I recommend this book for all who like a good love story.

Not what I expected
I just couldn’t get into that book - it felt flat and the Characters weren’t “coming alive”. Their relationship was slow at first but once they got together it seems rushed.
