Shiny Blades. Scorching Fire. Falling Feathers. That’s me, Everly Banks, the original supernatural. After being betrayed by The Council and given to a madman, I burned it all to the ground. Now all I want is to stay hidden, protecting those who need it from the shadows. When four hunters show up on my doorstep asking for my help and trying to drag me back into the light, I send them and their secrets packing. Did I mention they work for The Council? I may not have a choice. An army of demons is amassing and innocents are getting caught up in its net. My only friend may be next. Trusting them may burn me, but I’ve always played with fire. **** The Anomaly Series is a reverse harem urban fantasy with mature themes. Everly is an awesome main character. She is strong, flawed and pretty hardcore. She doesn’t remember her entire past but she has been abused and has ptsd. So she knows pain and likes to be alone. She doesn’t have time to let people get to close. Yet those she does let in, they are a privileged few. They have worked their way to get there. All the characters in this book are absolutely well developed and perfectly designed. I loved every minute of this series. I couldn’t put it down. This series will make you both laugh and cry.
The foundation for this series was super unique. I loved the idea of Everly being the original supernatural, the creator, and all around badass. I also loved how even though she’s still significantly effected by her trauma in a realistic way she also takes command back of her body and life as much as she can.
I had to take a star away though because the ending just wasn’t enough for for me. It left me completely hanging. It feels like there needs to be another short novella or something to see their lives together after the finale. How does their relationship pan out? Do they all tell each other they love each other? Are there more intimate group moments? And what happened with that fertility statue set up? Does that mean it’s possible for her to have kids after all? So many unanswered questions.
The short novella with the teams backstory was nice, but I’d rather have had a better ending for their story all together.
I loved the entire premise of this series. Seeing into the mind of the literal first person on Earth was such a draw. The characters are fantastic and each of them have their own arcs that resolve well. Loved the various relationships and their fluctuations, it really gave the story depth. I am now going to go discover what's happening with Everly's sister. Overall a great series I'd recommend for fans of Kristen Banet and T.A. White.
I love this story and how it unfolds. Everly is an absolute BAMF and her men are perfect complements to her. She never takes any crap and even dealing with a horrific past she is brave and strong!
