Have you ever loved anyone so much that you’d give them up at the expense of your own happiness?
No? Well, I did.
Okay, that’s not the first lie I’ve ever told myself. I fought tooth and nail for the only man I’ll ever love, but in the end, I had to concede defeat.
Even now, seven years later, the cruel words Ryker uttered the morning after he took my virginity still wield the power to shatter the remains of my heart.
Yet fate has a way of shaping our lives. No matter how hard we fight for a different outcome.
Have you ever feared losing someone so much you’d give up the only woman who made your heart race?
No? Well, I have.
She holds the power to bring my entire world crashing down, which is why I’ve spent the last seven years forgetting she exists.
And until today, I’d succeeded.
But time isn’t a healer, she’s a cruel mistress. One who won’t be ignored.
Entranced is the first book in a brand-new six-part billionaire romance series from International Bestselling Author Tracie Delaney.
Tracie Delaney writes billionaire romance where the men fall hard and the women make them work for it. Even though she has more than 35 novels published across many different series, Tracie still considers herself a reader first and foremost and loves fangirling over her favorite authors.
At night she likes to curl up on the sofa with her two furbabies, Murphy & Cooper, and binge-watch shows on Netflix. There may be wine involved.
Quick review. Athena has been in love with her brother's best friend, Ryker forever. She made her move and slept with him one night when he came home a little intoxicated. He had major regrets morning after because of his friendship with her brother. He pushes her away and proceeds to be a major jerk the next seven years to keep his distance from her. During the first few years after they slept together he proceeds to sleep with many woman. Trying to forget Athena (ya right). This part did not sit well with me. Author's need to stop going down that path with the hero's. Anyway it open with Ryker buying a club in Japan and find's Athena working as a waitress there (she was supposed taking a 6month sabbatical traveling the world, gift from her brother). This is where he rescues Athena or really forces her to return home for her safety. They then reconnect. He is still fight his feelings for her and Athena is somewhat bitter and hurt he still is pushing her away. They begin the process of working through their issues and hurts. He finally see's the light and quit's fight their attraction and love. The rest of the story is their relationship evolving and some sexy times. They it's the obstacle of telling her brother and family. Well....guess this wasn't so quick after all.
He was a jerk and a manwhore for the first few years of their separation, then evolved into a more celibate lifestyle. That was a negative, should have be from the beginning. He did redeem himself second half. She was somewhat childish at the start of the story but evolved into a more adult like character second half of the story.
Nahh why does it have so many good reviews? Do u all like a manwhore who fckd half the town 👀 The heroine was absolutely childish and I couldn't understand how she still wanted to be with the hero even though he brought women with him all the time 😬😶 Also the hero can fuck however he wants but gets possessive when he sees her TALKING to another guy Just ugghhh not a safe read for me Also the ending was just nah ❌🤡
It's okay. Best friends sister troupe. Nothing really original. Heroine throws herself at him when he returns home drunk years ago and he took her virginity. He tells her it can't happen then proceeds to sleep with half the state, parading women in front of her and at times bringing a date to family events. They reconnect and he continues to do this though he had been celibate for a while. Its unclear if he has sex with the current woman before he takes up with the heroine again. Gives mixed signals, kisses her then pushes her away, goes berserk at her flirting with another man, usual stuff. No intimate scenes other than the Hero and heroine. Breadcrumbs dropped for future books in series. HEA.

THIS MAY BE YOUR TYPICAL BROTHER'S BEST FRIEND FALLS IN LOVE WITH HIS SISTER TROUPE, AND OF COURSE THE HERO WILL BE A COMPLETE JERK TO KEEP HER AT ARMS' LENGTH...But I enjoyed every second of it. Not going to lie. Angst and jealousy has been one of my favourite emotional drives in romances.
RYKER has feelings for his best friend's sister ever since they slept together 7 years ago when he was more than a little wasted and took Athena's virginity. Waking up with a barrage of guilt and a panic attack, Ryker broke her heart with a spew of lies and untruth. Over the years, he's fucked plenty of women to try to exorcise Athena from his heart, mind and soul, even flaunting his women in her faces but it's not like it's worked. When she goes away for 6 months to travel, he's relieved. Yet, fate has other plans when she brings Ryker and Athena together again in Japan, while he's conducting business with her brother. Ryker's a possessive motherfucker. And a hypocrite to boot. He can be the one with the arm candy but NO MAN shall ever touch Athena. If you're looking for an alpha-hole, then you'll get it right here.
ATHENA is a lovely young woman who loves Ryker ever since he entered her life. When she gave him her virgnity 7 years ago and he broke her heart, she tries really hard to move on BUT no man ever appeals and she's pretty much celibate for those lonely years. I don't blame her one single bit for turning bitter. Watching the only man you'll ever love parade a stream of women and knowing he'll probably be taking them home for a hard fuck...will make any woman turn bitter and hateful. Even though she wasn't a pushover, I still wished she gave HIM HELL. Like amp up the snark and sassy attitude, ya know? She's clearly in pain and hiding behind a wall she erected to help her go through the motions in life.
OVERALL the angst was yums! Not many women will appreciate this story, because frankly...in a sense it's almost degrading towards women. AND it shows that Bad Boys are better than the good ones, and most of us are a sucker for them, and we wonder why we have such shitty relationships in life when we always opt for the ones who break our hearts.
I so wanted to love this. I closed it so many times and made myself retry it multiple times. I’ve finally written it off as a DNF. I love forbidden or taboo relationships. Give me brothers best friend any day. But holly hell, Ryker and Athena are classic toxic relationship. She’s completely obsessed with him, and he treats her like dirt. She basically sexually assaulted him to give him her V card when she was 17. He was completely drunk, so she jumped into bed with him and seduced him. Afterwords she actually expected he would wake up and tell her brother they were together forever. Completely naïve little girl. Instead he woke up and said horrible horrible things to her, and then spent the next seven years parading many many women in front of her. Her brother actually commented that Ryker slept with all the women on the eastern seaboard. And of course, as so many authors write, she remained completely celibate. She spends the next seven years still completely obsessed with him, even going so far as to place laxatives in his dates drinks to ruin their night. Her brother is supposedly so completely over protective of her, yet never notices Ryker physically manhandling her or treating her like trash. Their mother left an abusive relationship when they were small, yet he doesn’t see his sister is repeating that cycle. I cannot get past how awful Ryker is to her. Some things you just don’t come back from. And she is such a delusional doormat, that she actually believes if she lets him treat her like such trash and hurt her she can eventually convince him they’re meant to be together. I’m flabbergasted. I really wanted to love this. I tried. I just can’t support a doormat e who is clinging to such a toxic relationship.
An okay read, with angst from rejection mostly averted because the author chose not to overly describe the (a) unrequited crush/ infatuation of the h, Athena, for the H, Ryker in her younger years; and (b) cruel words/ situations between the H/h during the 7 years (save for the key scene alluded in the blurb, but even then, it was merely a few paras).
In brief, the h did not lose hope during the 7 years, even in the face of the H doing his utmost to push her away, and she could never hook with another because her body could only ever respond to the H; all the while, the H has been denying his feelings for the sake of his friendship with her brother by resorting to all sorts of solutions (including sleeping with tons of others). I can already hear the horde of the safety gang raging about the double standards 😅. To give the book credit, the way Athena was written, she had much spunk to protect her from his bedroom proclivities (even if she hurt and sometimes felt low) because (a) she never lost hope that he would one day stop his denial; and (b) she knew why he was doing all this and believed she just had to convince him to give them a chance. So yeah, much of the angst was totally averted.
At the 50% mark, Ryker could not hold back his feelings for Athena anymore, and from there, he was all in. He told her he loved her almost immediately, planned sexy escapes for them, gifted her jewels, and proposed to her... all in the space of two weeks. The rest of the story dealt more with hiding from the brother, a slight action/thriller side plot that will continue in at least the brother's book and revealing everything to their entourage. Athena was an okay h as she did not let things put her down for long and she always bounced back. Her character was at times confusing saying one thing (e.g. not wanting favours at work) but then doing another (accepting that her brother gives her a long weekend when she was only on payroll for a few weeks). Ryker was okay too, I loved his devotion to Athena even when he was fighting his feelings. All in all, the main characters could have used more fleshing out, esp. with all the insane wealth setting where sometimes they came across as only skin-deep characters.
I got some good feels as the H was cracking up on his resolve. His jealousy in the first half was cute and sexy to watch. The rest was just lovey-dovey. I loved the Japan nudge at the beginning as it fit my recent reading roll in the Asian theme. Not a bad read. Decently written. Almost chick-lit. But definitely could have been much more emotional and angsty if the author had gone deeper. One thing that bothered me throughout the book was the smug-rich ambience throughout the book. The six friends are basically M.Zuckerberg-tech-filthy-rich and there is overly much casual flaunting of their huge wealth that felt grating to me (bizarrely, for someone who grew with HP Greek billionaires and what not, OTT wealth never really bothered me as it was often a dream facilitator, but in this book, it did not pass for some reason 🙄). And the fact that all their oh so important business yadda yadda read very flimsy with little substance did not help in making the stuff very believable either.
To read if looking for an inoffensive book to pass the time (once).

I love the cover. But this MANWHORE H didn’t deserve it. Well, h was celibate for seven, I mean SEVEN FREAKING YEARS after she lost her V card to him and was thinking about H since years ago, H said he was thinking about her as well.
BUT H was being like a MANWHORE spreading his seeds to the world at the same time. 🤮🤮🤮🤮
Omg, he was like a dog in heat. (sorry about humiliating adorable puppy😭😭😭)
And?? After he knew he was the only man she had ever had, he pat her and said “that’s nice”???
HELLO???
Why someone like bullsh*t can be the leading male??? (Sorry for humiliating bullsh*t😭😭😭)

WooWee!!! What a fantastic story of love, romance, desire and trying to live without it..Because your love is the younger sister of your life long best friend! I am not a person who reads tons of romance, but damn if the books by Tracie Delaney don't hook me in every time!! You can put yourself in the story, little moments we have all seen happen or fear they may. The characters of Athena and Ryker burrow themselves right into your heart. Ryker is a young, professional who with Athena's brother Elliot and several other friends, have a widely successful enterprise from which they make a large amount of money! Athena has loved Ryker from afar basically all their life, and he makes it quite clear that his friendship with her brother takes precedent over all. But fate has a funny way of intervening when you least expect it...And You get to experience it All through this tantalizing tale.. 5 BIG Gold STARS From Me, and I can Not wait for the second in the series!!!
I didn’t think I could make any more mistakes but apparently reading this book was nothing but poor judgment on my part. Once again the fmc deserves better than a piece of shit Mmc that doesn’t know how to properly treat a fucking women.
I was rooting for Charles and Athena more than I was rooting for the mmc. Charles should have been the other man he should have been the main character cause he stole the show.
I ain’t even gonna bother reading the other books.
A wonderful start to a new series, set to follow six men who are friends and billionaire business partners. A story of forbidden love, a love that has stayed a painful secret for too long. A secret that when it blows, is going to combust!
I love that Tracie's female leads are often strong, sassy, tenacious and know what they want and aren't afraid to go after it. Athena is no exception, she's been in love with Ryker for years and knows he is the one. She's quite frankly a saint for not giving up on Ryker, she was far more forgiving than I'd be! He really did exhibit almost unforgivable a-hole tendencies at times in his bid to deny how he really felt, so it took me a while to warm to him. However, he is loyal and deliciously dominant and did step up when he really needed to towards the end when the pace ramped up in an unexpected, thrilling twist.
Entranced was sexy, steamy and hot with a healthy dose of angst and tension I want in a forbidden romance, that built and grew from the start. I also loved some of the other characters that will be more prominent in future books, particularly Oliver and Athena's brother, Elliott.
Although it can be read as a standalone, there is an intriguing loose end to this story which I'm sure will be dealt with in a lot of depth in future books and I'm excited to see what happens next!
I felt like it was written by chat gpt and the prompt said to spill out the most cliche, spicy romance book with a trope of a best friend’s sister.
I hate that trope. It’s sexist af (what gives a brother any rights over his sister romantic life?!) and shows a hypocrisy of men who are happy to support their friends shitty behavior towards women as long as it doesn’t affect women they care about. Then they have a problem with it.
Still, this kind of trope can be written… well. This was not it.
There was no tension - everything was just randomly happening, with no build up to it. I swear, when the first kiss happened, I double checked if I skipped some pages, because it just came out of nowhere, hence was completely anticlimactic.
The dialogues were cliche, the characters one dimensional and don’t even get me started at the fact that the girl was unable to perform with anybody else, but he had no trouble going through half the vaginas in Manhattan. Still, apparently he loved her just as much. Sure thing, hon. Seems legit.
Overall, it was just boring. I didn’t care about those characters at all and didn’t see any purpose in their actions. So, hard pass.
Ryker and Athena, wow, what a story. Tracie Delaney has done it again. I believe this series has the makings to top her Winning Ace series, which I absolutely adore.
Ryker is a successful business owner, he meets Athena in one of the clubs he's hoping to add to his empire. They have a past together, a one night stand which happened seven years before, but neither of them have spoken about it since. Athena is the sister of Ryker's best friend, there's a code of conduct to consider. Men don't go near their friend's sisters.
However, Athena and Ryker have unfinished business... to say more would give the story away. Loved it from the very first page to the last. The final ten percent of the book will have you flipping the pages rapidly, I guarantee it.
Highly recommended from one of the best romance authors around.
. Tolle Dynamik zwischen den beiden
Another fab read from this author. In fact this one was one of her bests ones yet.
Really enjoyed the dynamic between the two main characters Athena and Ryker. Loved how they had all this pent up sexual chemistry but it was that taboo aspect of best friends sister that really sold it to me. Love these kinds of books because they always have that tension build up, that angst that has your heart racing and your nerves on tenterhooks the whole time.
This author can do no wrong in my eyes. Would highly recommend!
I started this book by accident thinking it was Garen's book and immediately this book was awful.
He was drunk and out of it , half asleep, it was assault. She assaulted him. They had no previous relationship of the sort they had nothing. She accosted him. And the author made us think that what she did was romantic and okay. She was desperate and an attention seeker. It was awful. The whole woe is me big brother get me out of this was terrible too.
This was a great start to this series. Tracie Delaney did a great job on it. The plot and characters were strong, the story was written well. Athena and Ryker were drawn to each other from the start, they were made for one another, their attraction and chemistry was strong, they were good together. I'm looking forward to reading more of this series. Thank you, Tracie Delaney. Great work :)
Storyline could have been good, but I can't get past the fact that this girl got in this guys bed while he was drunk, he treats her like shit for 7 years, she POISONS his dates, and then he finally sees the light that they should be together, no apology, nothing, he tells her he loves her and she's just like yeah this is fine. Like wtf? Toxic af 🤮
This was a good read. Although I would have liked it more if Ryker was less of a jerk and Athena was less of a doormat. I am looking forward to the other books in the series.
As usual, these are notes for me when I come across the tt video again and wonder have I read it? Was it good? Might contain spoilers and profanity. . . . It's the one where she gives him her v card, and he denies their attraction for 7 years. So, my first impression of Athena was that she's a spoiled brat and I didn't like her. Then we got to know her, and I understood her brattiness. Ryker was sex obsessed. On point with the brother's best friend loyalty. It's a guy thing, isn't it? Always valuing their friendship over their love. Anyway, the kidnapping plot twist was so weird, but let's just go with it? 🤷♀️ I liked the use of toys in the bedroom.
