Kathi lives with her husband, kids, grandkids, and dogs in beautiful Lake Tahoe. When she isn't writing, Kathi likes to read (preferably at the beach or by the fire), cook (preferably something with chocolate or cheese,) and garden (planting and planning not weeding). She also enjoys spending time on the water when she's not hiking, biking, or snowshoeing, the miles of desolate trails surrounding her home.
Kathi uses the mountain setting in which she lives, along with the animals (wild and domestic) that share her home, as inspiration for her cozy mysteries.

Review:

The characters are well rounded and well developed. The friends have all grown and changed in just the few weeks they have been together. And some very important decisions are made in this book. I really like the way the friends all stayed together and helped each other with their problems. Kelly and Quinn are working at solving the mystery of all of the surfers that have disappeared over the last twenty five years. And they also try to find a current missing teen that they know. They risk their lives trying to get the answers that they are seeking. Will they be successful in their hunt or is it too late?

The writing style flows smoothly and the book is an easy read. The author is very talented in her descriptive writing and these helped make the story more enjoyable.

I really liked following the lives of these women and seeing what happened to each of them. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a well crafted cozy.

Ottimo ultimo libro di una bella trilogia. La soluzione al mistero è risultata essere una sorpresa dopo l'altra e ci sono stati anche un paio di momenti di suspense. Mi dispiace di non poter più leggere altro su Kelly & company...

Campfire Secrets is the final installment in Kathi Daley’s awesome Island Trilogy. The affable characters are well developed, and the well-plotted storyline flows at a steady pace. This is a fun and clean read, with a strong emphasis on caring and compassion. Emotions run high, so keep the tissues handy. The complex mystery encompasses cold and current cases, and the red herrings and the twists and turns will keep readers engaged. A lot took place in this trilogy, and Ms. Daley neatly tied up all the loose ends, bringing resolution to everything.

Carrie Davidson arranged for three of her childhood friends, Kelly Green, Nora Hargrove, and Diana “Quinn” Quinby, to return to Shipwreck Island for a long-overdue reunion and to do something to commemorate the twenty-fifth anniversary of the summer their friend, Peggy Amundson, went missing. Each of the four women has been going through traumatic problems and offer strength and support to one another. Kelly is dealing with the recent death of her twin sister, Kayla; Carrie’s husband recently moved out of their home, and is preparing to move into her new condo; Nora, who fears her marriage is over, leaves for a few days to reconnect with her husband; and Quinn is burned out and in need of a break. Kelly reconnected with Ryder West, Carrie’s younger brother, who is now a veterinarian and island’s mayor, and Sam Stone, who’s the island’s sheriff. The four friends have been gathering facts in an effort to help Sam bring resolution to a disturbing pattern of sixteen-year-old girls disappearing every five years, with the first victim most likely being Peggy. Things heat up when the daughter of one of their childhood friends goes missing.

Great conclusion to the trilogy! This book wraps up the mysteries of the missing girls in the first 2 books and their conclusions may come as a surprise, which is always nice when the ending is not predictable.

This is a wonderful finale to a great cozy mystery trilogy.

Twenty-five years ago, there were six best friends who had summered together on an island every year, Kelly, her twin sister, Kayla, Carrie, Quinn, Nora and Peggy. Then one summer, Peggy disappeared without a trace.

Carrie, the only one who still lives on the island has kept in touch with the others and invited Kelly, Quinn and Nora for a twenty-five-year reunion. It has been a year since the tragic death of Kelly's twin sister, Kayla, and Kelly has been floundering, so the reunion offers a temporary distraction for her.

When the body of a woman who had been missing for many years washes up on the shore, Kelly, an ex-FBI analyst, soon finds herself helping an old friend, Sam, who is now the local law enforcement to try to figure out what happened to their friend Peggy all those years ago, as there seems to be a connection between Peggy's disappearance and the other woman's.

Meanwhile, Carrie's younger brother, Ryder, who used to be a little pest, has turned out to be a really great and good looking guy that is quickly causing Kelly to rethink her old opinion of him.

Though a bit different from many of Ms Daley's series, as these books should be read in order and are not stand-alone, Island Reunion is a wonderful trilogy, packed with emotion, mystery and romance.

I highly recommend the whole trilogy.

Campfire Secrets earns 5/5 Island Bonfires...Engaging Conclusion!

Kathi Daley has concluded her Island Reunion Trilogy in dramatically grand fashion...shocking revelations, several mysteries solved, and justice served! I want to offer more insights into book three, “Campfire Secrets,” but all I can say is you’ve got to read it for yourself! Newbies beware! Basic ideas are recounted, but can you imagine only reading book three in The Lord of the Rings Trilogy? Just think of all you’d miss. The pattern that emerged over the series, young girls missing and a victim profile, along with a dead body washed up on shore focused law enforcement and a group of reunited friends: collaborating, researching, and piecing together the mystery that also involved the disappearance of their friend twenty-five year ago. Theories are tested, suspects are scrutinized, and personal peril threatens those who get too close, but time is running out...Grace, the daughter of an island friend, has gone missing!

So what can I say? Well, Kathi’s writing style uses a first-person narrative from Kelly Green‘s perspective following her own emotional journey, budding romance, and reconnecting with her friends along with the missing persons and murder investigation. Daley’s creativity includes slowly revealing suspects, revising scenarios, and compiling evidence that keep readers engaged through the series and culminating in this third book. Some of the information gathered during the investigation takes place off the page, then it’s relayed through conversations, some secondhand. However, she always includes those clever avenues, shocking twist, and some nail-biting danger. An Epilogue is included to give a little more insight into the future of the characters now that the trilogy has concluded. But, is there another trilogy in the future?

The Summer Six began their friendship in their youth reuniting each summer as their families returned to their summer homes. Now 4 of the women will enjoy an extended summer reunion on Shipwreck Island. The 4 women are at pivotal times in life as divorce, empty nest, loss of a twin, and exhaustion from work all influence their acceptance to enjoy the time together. A heartwarming story of supportive friendship, love, personal choices and personal growth, and new beginnings that may bring changes to each of their lives.

Marketed as a trilogy I found it reminded me of the serial type presentation of the 5 books read earlier this year with the title "The Beach House" as the "Clearwater Bay" Series by Megan Jacobs. At the opening of Books 2 and 3, Kathi Daley gives a slight recap of the previous book as though a reader might read one of the books as a stand-alone or might read the series out of order. I can't imagine a reader enjoying any of the titles as a stand-alone with abrupt cliff-hanger endings for Books 1 and 2 that I enjoy as the end of a chapter but not as the end of a book. Thankfully with a subscription to Kindle Unlimited all selections were free, regardless of selecting individual titles of the "Island Reunion" Series or selecting "Summerhouse Reunion - The Complete Story" (Books 1-3).

Please note: On GoodReads, as on the author's website, the 3 titles of a) "The Summerhouse," b) "Topsail Sundays," and c) "Campfire Secrets," comprise the "Island Reunion" Series. On Amazon, the 3 individual titles are presented as the "Summerhouse Reunion" Series.

Jumping into the action immediately where the previous book left off, Kelly and her friends are deep into the disappearance of Grace and the other girls, including the one who washed up ashore during the surfing competition.
Sam has his hands full and Ryder is kept busy. The Summer Six Reunion began as a memorial occasion but it seems as if all the ladies are running in different directions. Finding romance is a bonus and starting over are themes as these ladies, now in their forties, muct figure out where their lives are going. Friendship seems the only bond that remains and grows stronger.
The mysteries are solved in an unpredictable result.

In this third book of the series Sam feels like the answers he needs will be in finding the most recent missing girl. Meanwhile Kelly and Quinn are looking in their own direction, one that is dangerous and could get them both in trouble. They soon realize that what they believed is not the direction they need to be headed in but I fact they need to start looking at all the pieces with a different perspective. Follow along as they join together in their search for answers and the truth. Will all the mysteries be successfully solved or will they be left with more questions. Along the way friendships become stronger, and new roads to the future are opened.

This is the third installment of a three-part story - one you probably could read by itself but would so miss out on a lot of the story building up to it so my recommendation is to read all three in order. Intriguing plot and ending -- loved how it all turned out and definitely didn't see it coming. Loved how all the pieces went in all different directions and all finally connected. Loved reading about the characters' lives and the paths they decided to follow. All in all, a great mini series with an intriguing plot and awesome characters.

I really liked this series. In fact, I read the entire thing in less than 24 hours! The last book was my least favorite because it took some pretty unrealistic detours, but it did tie up all the loose ends and Iwas quite happy that not all of my predictions were correct. That's wouldn't be any fun! But one of the important predictions I made was right and that's good enough for me.

Finding Old Friends

When Kelly first came back to her youthful summertime island getaway, it was with a heavy heart. 25 years ago, one of her closest friends disappeared, and then her sister died the year before her trip. She helped her friend, Sheriff Sam find clues linking 5 other missing girls...but in the end, they solve all the disappearances. This is a wonderful end to a perfect trilogy.

Campfire Secrets is the final book in the fabulous Island Reunion trilogy. This story takes place on Shipwreck Island. Childhood friends reuniting, fun on the beach, old mysteries solved going back 25 years involving missing teenage girls, and romance make an entertaining combination. As always, the setting and relatable characters make for a fun, quick read. I really like these characters and hope that Ms. Daley surprises us with another book in this series in the future.

This book is the third in a trilogy in which, they're focusing on missing girls going back several years. When another girl goes missing it seems to prove their theory and Sam puts everything into finding her alive. Meanwhile, Quinn and Kelly put their own plan into action.

Kathi Daley does cozy mysteries very well and this book is a great example of why. This book perfectly wraps up the trilogy although it was definitely not in a way that was expected. Well-written with wonderful characters and relationships that are well-done, this book captured me from the beginning and kept me hooked until the end. I loved both the book and the trilogy and highly recommend them.

This is a good finish to a very enjoyable trilogy about re-connecting with true friends, coping with seemingly unbearable grief, and finding true love. Also, finding the answers of what happened to one of "the six" as the friends were known who had disappeared one fateful summer many years before.

Twenty five years.

I was sad to see the end of this trilogy, to leave behind the characters I had made friends with, and the island to which can call out to my soul. I thought in my head that I had answers to all the secrets and mysteries only to have this master storyteller twist and turn me in the end.

Inspiring story

As the third book in this trilogy, I truly loved the way it ended. The characters are engaging, all come with some life choices and have a wonderful bond together. There is some mystery with some romance and drama in this series that is well written and has that special Kathi Daley touch. I reunited this series and highly recommend it to all readers.
