Do you know what's better than being Queen of the Dead?
Having four sexy friends that aren’t romantically interested in you. I’m joking, it sucks.

Can I really blame them though? I mean sure, I'm a total bad*ass and babe. But why would two sexy vampires, a century-old demon, and wolf shifter be interested in little old me?

Now, I don’t want to discredit myself because let me be clear… I’m awesome.
The fun kick*ss leather wearing type of awesome that hangs out with the dead because frankly, the living are pretty annoying. Well, most of them anyway.
Being Queen has always come easy to me. I mean who doesn't like putting some jerk in his place? Lately, though, something has changed and I feel the trouble coming like a storm rolling in. Despite my boys not reciprocating my crush, I know they will always be by my side.

Though, I do wonder why they are acting so weird about the local demi-god of luck and VooDoo priest’s attention.

I mean, I have to date eventually, right? Right?! Apparently, not if my friends have anything to say about it.
This is why I stick to the dead and not the living. They are so complicated.

*Fantasy RH* This is a light-hearted, semi-satirical, and fairly fast-paced reverse harem. You can bet that our characters will be swearing up a storm in New Orleans and expect elements of horror such as gore, violence, and an array of other topics dealing with death. Sexual themes are suitable for mature audiences. +18

Spoilers ahead

I'm not doing a "real" review lol, let me say this book won't be for everyone.
It was OTT
Even a bit ridiculous
The h cursed more than I did in my Keaton review😂
The writing style was different
The sexy times happened at the oddest moments
BUT
I'm tired, really, really TIRED of females without a backbone....I'm tired of the oh so SPESHUL h's who melt at the handsomest, most beautifullest heroes who give the bare minimum but are made out to be so wonderful. I needed a STRONG h. This h was a foul mouthed badass and I adored her!!!!! Listen I had some issues, I mean she's just finished high school and some of her mates are centuries old, she's a teen but she's Queen of the dead.....unbelievable right??? I DON'T CARE!!! Not even a little! This chick is my spirit animal!! The Hs were good too but my rating is mostly for her!
If you need even the tiniest bit of reality in your romance, even PNR, then this may not be your jam but it definitely worked for me at this time.

No cheating
virgin h(the filthiest minded virgin that ever lived)
RH
Now one H was a virgin, the others were decades or even centuries old but they didn't appear to be manwhores and all seemed to have waited the few years for the h to age up

Queen of the Dead was an okay read, if you are familiar with the author's work you kind of know what to expect.

The whole queen of the dead thing was intriguing and the way the blurb reads made it seem like she was going to be a badass power wielding character. Firstly if you find the blurb annoying to read, you are going to have the same reaction with the entire book and hate reading through Narcissa's POV. There is a very "try hard" vibe in her POV to show her as this badass heroine, I mean there is just too much inner blabbering and very less of showcasing her badass image through actions in the story.

Beyond Narcissa's character, we have six guys for her harem. Raphi, Dorian, Alaric, Abel, Declan and Zachariah who have the typical stereotypes but Declan and Zach definitely were some different paranormal characters that makes them stand out. Sadly, there is not enough material with these two beyond few short scenes with the length of this book. The romance is typical for this author, no ups and downs once the feelings are declared.

The plot is so weak, there is so much inactiveness for the paranormal characters involved like dude the end part just had chit chat scenes before the cliffhanger. The short length helps in not quitting the book but it's still noticeable that it doesn't use any of the elements beyond a shallow level. It was only good enough to notice the book but continuing with the second one? Doubt that.

DNF at 14% Nothing has happened so far.... the female protagonist playing an annoying snobby "I'm amazing" teenager... But I kept reading for a bit.. . Surely there's a reason the reviews are so good?... and then we get to her saying that guys think she's exotic and it pisses her off because "I am not your f-ing fetish".. err what? 😒

Then she says my family has been here longer than them and they're the exotic motherf-ers.... Then proceeds for even more pages about her looks (no joke). We really really needed to know her exact height and body shape and also her mom's and grandma's and how they compare. This is important INFO. I'm not sure if she gave her bra size, because I stopped reading.

As someone who has been asked often - if my ginger hair is dyed, was I the child of the milkman? -everyone else in my family has really dark hair, or especially if they aren't from a Westernized country- if they can touch my hair (really)... I never once thought I was being fetishised. Because I'm not insane. They are complements [all except the milkman, and we all know - unless you're 'woke' - that it's a joke...(it was the seltzer guy!)]
You can touch my hair for donuts or gulab jamun or even sutlac - I am not picky. No one cares or obsesses about this stuff unless they are also professional victims/narcissists.

I'm honestly surprised the book didn't start out with her pronouns... But, first page we are told she (of course her name is Narcissa, could you get more 'on the nose'?) is called "queen of the dead".

I can't, I just can't...

I loved it and so will you!

Freaking awesome story! Lots of supernatural creatures and a tough confident.but not arrogant FMC, along with her hot and sexy forming harem. Definitely an adult book, but a great balance of steam, chemistry, and a wicked good time plot. I read this book in a couple of hours, and it kept my attention the whole time. Meet vampires, witches, demons, werewolves, voodoo priests, ghosts, and even a demigod and an incubus! How do they all fit in the big picture? 😏 Well, you will have to read it if you want to know. A few misused words a couple of times, and a couple of run on sentences were present, but not enough to keep me from wanting to finish it. I give this 18 and up paranormal reverse harem kickass romance with plenty of sizzle a resounding 4.5 golden stars 🌟! For those looking for a sweet clean romance, look elsewhere. There is violence and cursing too, but also a whole lot of love and friendship which made a remarkably balanced out fun sexy read. Kudos to M. Sinclair. I can't wait to read some more of your books, hopefully helping me get through the wait for the next book!!!!!

Another one off the TBR. Thankfully it was short because I wouldn’t be able to get through it otherwise. The characters already have their history and connections, it’s just another case of no communication. Narc is already queen of the dead and it shows with how she throws her powers around and everyone still wants to be with her. Couldn’t warm to her attitude at all. Not for me this one.

I read the whole trilogy in less than 24 hours. I freaking loved it.

Badass heroine, devoted men who are protective but not overbearing, good enough plot. I mean I really read it for the interactions between the heroine and her SIX! mates. Two vampire, a wolf, an incubus, a Voodoo priest and a freakin’ leprechaun. I loved it. Fast paced reverse harems are my thing. And when the heroine has a backbone and LEADS her harem... goodbye real world! I’m diving in.

But in full disclosure, this heroine, series and even author is not for everyone. The writing is simplistic and a little try hard. The heroine is brash, aggressive and alpha to the max. The situations are past unbelievable and the whole world revolves around our heroine. So yeah, not for everyone. But I eat this stuff up like empty calories.

Surprise, surprise another winner for me from this author.

This book is so light heart compared to her other 3 series ( which i adore)

Narcissa aka Narc is one of my new fav female characters ( i have multiple because why choose?)
She's badass, she rules New Orleans with a crazy fist and she breaks the fourth wall like no other, ha she kinda reminds me of Deadpool minus the scars.
She's a powerful necro and actually know how to wield her powers.

Her guys are all a variety of supes and not one of them i find annoying or boring.

With 2 more books to go i look forward to one hell of a ride.

This Is Satire!!!

I’m really confused about how I should rate this book. The author states that this story is a satire. A satirical, urban fantasy, reverse harem romance. If that’s not confusing then I don’t know what is.

Basically I’m not sure if I should laugh and roll my eyes at the things I find annoying, because that’s what the author intended…or if I should actually be annoyed and cringing. It’s a confusing feeling.

I know M. Sinclair knows how to write a badass FMC, she’s proven it several times over already. So I’m thinking Narcissa (HA!), who is an actual narcissist, is supposed to be a joke. She talks herself up as a badass bitch CONSTANTLY (like in every single thought), but I’ve not seen any proof of her badassery yet. This girl is so far up her own ass and inflated on her own self importance…she’s insanely ridiculous. I’m pretty sure that’s the point though. The author is making fun of the super special snowflakes who tend to be our FMC’s.

All of the male main characters are also jokes. M. Sinclair takes the stereotypical RH male personalities and wildly exaggerates them. FMC’s wolf shifter mate is half feral in his possessive and protectiveness. The DOM of the group is so dominant he can hardly hold back from taking over Narcissa’s will completely. The ‘sensitive and caring’ man of the group can actually feel FMC’s emotions and he stares in her eyes deeply and excessively. We haven’t gotten to know the other guys well enough yet, but I’m sure they won’t disappoint. 😂

So…how do you rate a book that’s satire in the RH genre? I’m not sure yet.

Original!

If you're a bit tired of the classic storyline of almost every RH (girl had power but didn't know it/or know it and had to hide it, met the guys, one guy rejected her, blablabla). Well, this book will definitely entertain you!
Narcissia (Narc) was the Queen of the dead in New Orleans. She was powerful, badass, and didn't hesitate to put people in their place.💪🏼
In this book, the harem was almost already settled: the guys knew Narc, loved her but didn't tell her yet. Idem for Narc.♥️ So no grumpy, bitter, angry assh*le who hurt his mate and apologized lamely eventually!!! 😊
In the middle of all this steam😉, Narc had to face the appearance of many dead bodies, sign that an old ennemy came back to life...
Go for the second volume!

I hate the writing. The pacing is completely off. I don’t know how but this author manages to make things feel simultaneously too slow and too fast. It’s frustrating! Also, I’m reading for the romance but all this extra plot shit just keeps interrupting. All this extra UNINTERESTING plot shit. Ugh.

Okay, I’ll say one good thing. The characters aren’t too bad. I like the devotion from the heroes. Did it go anywhere in this book? Not really. Just a lot of hurry up and wait. I’ll not risk it with this author again!

First book of the series. I love how we really get to know the characters and there are quite a few. Narcissa is the main character and is the Queen of the Dead. She is a young woman but her soul and personality are definitely of someone older. I loved how she views herself and her “friends”. Those friends are definitely going to shake things up and she will soon learn more about those around her than she expected to. The story moves pretty fast and the tension heats up as well. This is a why choose so expect some heat but I have a feeling book two will be a lot hotter.

I only made it 16% and therefore won't rate this. It's weird to me that some of M. Sinclair's books are 5 stars for me while others are impossible to slog through. I'm choosing to dnf this book now because I can tell the stream of consciousness writing style is going to be a "no go" for me.

Queen of the Dead is such an interesting read, and I am very much looking forward to book two.

Narcissa is a pretty bad a@@ character that is only 17, but carries the weight of being Queen. She has her trusty hot sidekicks, Raphi, Dorian, Abel and Alaric. And lets not forget about Zachariah, a Voodoo Priest. We have vampires and wolves, and all kinds of supernatural. Which of course makes for some good reading. M. Sinclair does an excellent job of describing this incredible world that Narcissa must rule. She is hard, but fair. She must be to do what she does. Her guys help her, and yeah there is a huge crush going on. But who is crushing on who? Who is behind all the mayham that Narcissa and her gang have to clean up?

If you have read any of M. Sinclair then you know she knows how to tell a great story. And Queen of the Dead, is good you guys. This series is going to be one of her best ones yet!

Um, well, I'm a bit disappointed.

I went in REALLY wanting to enjoy this book, but there was an issue that I, for the life of me, couldn't get over.
The inner monologue.
It just went on and on and on, pages on end, often just talking about things unrelated to the situation to the point that I just skim-read it. I'd often forget what they were talking about because there was so much random inner monologue.

Our heroine was okay, the guys were okay. I didn't really think any of them had any chemistry but oh well.

Fun story, very poor proofreading.

As with this author's other works I find her storyline interesting. I enjoy her humor, sarcasm and characters. However, as with all her other books I find the misspelled words, incorrect grammar and mistaken word usage to be very distracting. If her stories weren't interesting I would not read any more of her books for those reasons alone. If that doesn't bother you then you'll most likely find this book to be a lot of fun.

M. Sinclair delivers another great book

When I see that a book is by M. Sinclair I always know that I will love it. Her characters are layered and her storyline is tight. The city of New Orleans is a character in and of itself. Book 1 is a great introduction to the characters and I am invested into what happens in book 2.

2.75 - 3 ⭐
Book #1 of 3 (complete)

🆗 Queen of the Dead: too young + super powerful
✅🆗 Shifters, vampires, demons, demigod, hellhounds, ghosts
🆗⬇️ Some sarcastic, funny scenes (but too much at times)
🆗⬇️ Investigating murders/abductions
⬇️ Less plot, more obsessed with being badass or with her boys (1 at a time)
⬇️ Way too many physical descriptions: how hot the MMCs are or how can she appear more badass
⬇️ Inconsistent/contradictory information
🆗 RH: fast paced
✅🆗 MMC with Irish accent

🌎 World building 🌎

Not much information is given

We have the usual supernatural species and the author did not seem to have given them different characteristics.

(Not that we see much of them using their powers other than the basics like blood drinking, shifting forms, good hearing, fast reflexes, strength, weather influence, seeing and speaking to ghosts, killing)

Necromancer
Vampires
Shifters
Demigod
Voodoo priest
Ghosts
Hellhounds

✏️ Plot ✏️

This is the first book so not a lot has been revealed.
There is investigation and murder besides the romance but it is the beginning.

It has a fast paced so it is not boring.

Let's see if we get more in the next books.

💃 FMC💃

🔸Too young to be Queen of the Dead

If my calculations are correct she should be around 19-20 years old.
Her grandmother passed the responsibility with less care than one passes the salt at the table.
No training, nor adjustment period, nothing.
She became Queen at 17-18??!
And the supernaturals accepted it?! Really?!

🔸 Effortlessly, massively powerful

No training.
Instinctively and sometimes even unconsciously uses her powers so easily and all are stunned by how powerful she is.
Not that we see much of her power other than she (and the MMCs) saying she is super powerful.

❤️‍🔥 FMC & MMCs - Reverse harem ❤️‍🔥

🔸FMC obsessed

She is obsessed with how hot and badass the MMCs are, their piercings and muscles and chests.
The narrative/description felt a bit weird at times with her focusing on one MMC at a time and then jumping to another and so one. A bit forced maybe.

🔸 Relationship

It is just beginning, so I am waiting for their relationship to develop and not simply transition from friends who had a crush on each other but either part didn't know to friends who have sex.

🔸Background info: inconsistent

From the blurb, it seems like the FMCs has 4 male best friends since forever and suddenly she gets attention from 2 new males and her 4 best friends start to act weird (aka jealous) around her.

But actually (and it seems quite inconsistent and forced at times):

- 1 MMC has been her friend for 4 years, since he transferred to her school

- the other 3 of her best friends only have known her for 2 years
So not a long lived friendship like it seemed.
And did they all just move at the same time???!
It feels forced...

- the 2 "new" males interested in the FMC give mixed timeframes
They are introduced as "new" but they have known the FMC for some time and have always shown her attention and flirted with her...
They simply were not a permanent part of the gang, living together and always with the FMC, but they were always around.
So I don't get why the sudden jealousy or changes.
They were always there on the sidelines, flirting with the FMC.
Regarding the timelines for how long they have known the FMC, it gets quite confusing and contradictory.
At times it feels like they have known about her and her family for a long time. But then, we get the ideia they also only know her for 2 years like the others...?!
Strange....
Especially if you take into consideration they have been alive for a long, long time, live in the same city and know several members of her family as they were the previous Queens of the Dead and they do have meetings.
Did they only met her when she took the Queen role??! Did they never see her before?
Seems weird.

Queen of the Dead is the first book in The Dead and Not So Dead trilogy. It’s a fairly fast paced introduction to this world and these characters, but it is an easy read (no angsty or tragic back stories). I actually enjoy the relatively light hearted theme in this particular case.

Narc (Narcissa) is the Queen of the dead, and resident ruler of New Orleans. She quite aptly describes herself as “phenomenal cosmic power…itty bitty perceptive skills” (loved the Aladdin reference). She is transitioning into adulthood (literally just graduated high school), dealing with changing relationships (aka her harem) and of course the business that comes with being Queen. As far as her personality goes, she is confident without being arrogant, and she is more mature in some ways but still young in other ways (which given her age is actually understandable).

I feel the main focus was on Narc and her boys, that’s where the majority of the writing was focused. There’s Raphi, Dorian, Alaric, Abel, Declan and Zachariah. There was enough attention paid that each of them are their own unique character, and we also get to see some of their insight from their perspectives, but it is a short book so that only allows for so much.

This reads more as an introductory, I’m going to admit I’m not particularly blown away by the plot (which is threadbare by comparison) I do enjoy seeing the character interactions between Narc and her boys as well as her “subjects”. Perhaps in the following books we’ll get more into the meaty part of the plot, other than the vagueness of people (humans and “supes”) being killed by the baddies for totally obvious reasons. So more character focused then plot focused but I didn’t particularly mind that.

I am looking forward to reading the second in the series, but I may just hold out till the final book is released just because I don’t like cliffhangers, I want to know what happens right then and there.

M. Sinclair kicks off the Dead and the Not So Dead series with book one, Queen of the Dead. I've read only a couple of series by Sinclair but I loved her from the start so when I picked up Queen of the Dead I knew I was in for a good time and I was right. This book was a hoot. The humor was great, the characters were fantastic and the plot was excellent.

Narcissa is a badass and I mean that with all of my heart. I loved her. She may be extremely powerful (there's only one who could be her match) but she has a fantastic sense of humor, her commentary cracked me up. Being Queen at a young age means that she has to put out a tougher outer appearance but I loved that she can be a softer version with her guys.

I love every single guy in Narc's harem. It's a mixed harem of ages and supernatural species. She has twins, Alaric and Abel. Alaric is a little grumpy but is all fire when it comes to her. Abel is the sweetest one and emotionally in tune with Narc. Raphie is the most adorable. Damian is smart and passionate. Then there are the two oldest. Zachariah is extremely powerful and seems to always know things, while Declan is the playful type. Watching Narc and her guys figure out their relationship was very entertaining. Narc has them wrapped around her finger but in a good way. There her guard, they all love and support Narc and would do anything for her, as she would them.

All hail the queen. Narc is an excellent Queen, her age doesn't reflect the wisdom, maturity, and care that she shows to her people. I enjoyed seeing her put the guys that doubted her in their place. Supernatural politics is complex even for a queen. This story was loaded with all kinds of supernaturals like shifters, demons, hellhounds, spirits, and more. Each faction wants something, it's a delicate balance, and sometimes issues arise, it was great.

Queen of the Dead was a fun read, I loved Narc and the guys. It was chock-full of supernaturals, a mystery, light on the drama, and very flirty. The mystery has been solved but the problem is far from gone. I not gonna wait, I'll be jumping into the next book very soon.

Mhhmmm

Okay so I really loved the premise and story line of this book so far. Narc is funny and witty and definitely deserves her title of Queen of the Dead. Even at her young age. She caries herself and deals with everyone like a Queen should. Fairly. She just enough to ensure she is feared but also respected. The line she straddles is fine but it works since she has to rule a city of monsters. Having Six of the most powerful supernaturals at her side also aids in that cause.

Raphi, Dorian, Alaric, Abel, Declan, and Zachariah are all very bad ass. They protect her and each share how they fall for her. How they love her and how they protect her. Their actually pretty damn perfect for her. How she didn’t know they liked her and vice versa is some very naive and young stuff. And the guys other than Raphi are way too old to be playing games with their emotions and feelings. But I understand she was younger when they all first met her and for the current times it’s frowned upon and very illegal for grown men to date girls below 18. Let alone centuries old men dating someone under 18. I doubt anyone would have said anything.

So here is why I gave it 3 stars. There are quite a few spelling and grammatical errors. Most of them not do bad some that mess up the sentence and you have to reread to understand what is being said. Also, that ending booooo. It definitely could have continued with more anticipation. Like the suspense of who was causing murders could of went on longer. I just feel shorted in some way because it just ended with a sort of cliff hanger. And if that’s all that needs to happen then it could have been included in tho first book. Nevertheless I will be reading book 2.

Queen of the dead is the first installment in The dead and not so dead trilogy by M. Sinclair. We have Narcissa (Narc) who is the Queen of the Dead, literally. She has an iron fist over the New Orleans's supernatural community. She's funny, loves cat analogies and an all around badass. Also, she's a virgin.

Raphael 'Raphi' Sanchez is the poster child for a dark angel, a big bad wolf in every sense of the word but a cinnamon roll underneath and loves writing. He's a virgin. He and Narc were each other's first. Narc calls him honey buns for fun. Hey, that rhymed.

Dorian Westburrow is an incubus demon and the guy which Oscar Wilde wrote a story about, or so Narc claims. Apparently, Dorian was going through a very dramatic tragedy phase and convinced Wilde to write his story.

Alaric and Abel Vladern are vampire twins. Yes guys, we got twins in here and I'm (im)patiently waiting for that twin sandwich. They are Scandinavian vampires with Viking ancestors. Alaric is the more rougher twin whereas Abel is the sweet one; though that dosen't make him any less deadly.

Zachariah is the Voodoo priest; hot and powerful. Almost primordial. He's dominant by nature but for Narc he tries to control his dom nature. And last but not least, we have Declan- the leprechaun hottie. He and Zachariah are besties.

Each of her men are a bit different from each other, even in terms of the species. Queen of the Dead is a fairly light hearted read, semi-satirical and a fast paced romance.

3.5 ⭐️ The first chapter was nostalgic and yet cringey af - I felt like I was back in high school again but I couldn’t place the familiarity of WHY, until it finally clicked-

Narc is the embodiment of Ebony Dark'ness Dementia Raven Way (but in the best way) - from the way she talks, dresses and interacts with others - iykyk

Reading it through that lens, this book is a hilarious black mirror for the RH trope and I kinda love it.

Beloved satire and stereotypes. I’m in!

So bad it’s good vibes. This flavour of the classic throwback fanfic had me laughing out-loud, well played.

& I do kinda love that the FMC is crazy and always trying to be a badass - even tho she’s constantly reminding the reader of that truth. Like a compulsion, she NEEDS to beat the reader and other characters over the head with this notion. “I’m so badass! Everyone has to know and believe that about me or else!”

We love a narcissist (I see what the author did and it’s kinda genius)

The first chapter was only a slog to get through because I approached it with serious intention - but once I figured out what I was really in for and I could appreciate the authors true intentions and wit, I had a blast! A much needed pallet cleanse with the OTT shenanigans
Plus a few chapters later, things really pick up and settle in a weird way - I was glad I stayed for the lulz and the men

Pure fun with a dash of spice 😂🌶️

Wow! I sort of stumbled upon this book and the title is so interesting I just had to sample it. I fell in love with all the characters from Paige one. Narcissa is a very strong female character and a total badass. She is so sassy and confident and I seriously want to be her. This fast pace, hilarious, romantic, action filled, suspenseful book had me staying up late into the night to read every single word. I wanted to scream when the guys wouldn’t make a move because they were scared and Narcissa didn’t want to make a move because she was scared and then when the priest comes and asks Narcissa out the guys want to be all jealous and she has no idea but at the same time their confusion was so funny. I love how the guys are like, “you have no idea do you?” And she so confused but then her grandmother pointed it out and she starts thinking about it and she’s like, “oh my gosh they like me!” I just wanted to jump in the book and scream, “now you figure it out! It was right in front of your face the entire time!”🤣 m Sinclair really has me wanting to check out New Orleans and the French quarter. I love the priest and the demigod because they are so funny. I love how Narcissa in the beginning looks at the ghost and says, “I have no problem with ghosts walking on my lawn but that was just rude.“ I can’t wait to read the next book! M Sinclair you rock!

Queen of the dead… you won’t forget it

This was an anticipated read - sitting in my TBR for a while with the intention to read a while ago before I had children.

I finally had the opportunity and saw a recommendation on a FB page so saw it as a sign.

This was VERY YA - every page for the first 50% the FMC would mention that she was a queen - she spoke like a young teen who thought herself a mature adult who is super bad-ass..
The MMC were all tattooed, pierced or had bad-ass hair styles - the FMC wore bad-ass clothes and the MMC wore leather and rode motorcycles and were bad-ass and different…

There is promise but honestly this was so so immature - MAYBE if I was 17 I’d read this and think… yeah, totally cool dude, but I’m an adult and quite over the “cool” stage.

I wouldn’t recommend.
This was a DNF for me after pushing through to the 80% mark.
I might have pushed through further if I didn’t have over 1000 books in my TBR… but I’d prefer to start each of those 1000 than finish this one.

Don’t mean to be harsh, am giving 3 starts because it wasn’t total rubbish, but I wish I hadn’t have pushed through.

That being said, if you’re into YA it could be for you - M. Sinclair honestly has such better reads than this one

fun little read

3.5 The characters are pretty fun. I enjoyed it. I’m not quite sure how to describe it though. I kind of yo-yo’d between feelings, but I’m not sure what they were. I’d definitely put this in your Halloween reads TBR, it had a fun spooky feel to it. There’s someone causing trouble for the young Queen, and her guys and her are trying to find out who. The relationship between them all might have been what had me swinging between feelings. They definitely had a fun, cute thing going on under all their badax image. But I sometimes felt like things weren’t quite addressed enough. Like at the start she felt annoyed about something, and then we were distracted and it was glossed over and moved on. It didn’t really ruin the story, but it was just a niggling thing in my ocd brain. The end was a bit of a cliffhanger, like it was sort of cut off. It wasn’t a long book, so I actually would have been happy for the next book to have been put together with it to make a longer read. But that’s me. So I’m keen to read the next and see what happens with Narc and her guys.
