Rowan Honeycutt has it all together – successful career, big house, charming fiancé – until she doesn’t. Life as she knows it is ripped out from under her in the blink of an eye and she’s partly to blame.
With funds running low, no solid plans to ever go back to work in the medical field, and the one-year anniversary of her late-fiancé’s death approaching, her BFF’s, Katie and Chloe, swoop in and haul her off to Las Vegas for the weekend for a mental reset and fresh start.
What she wasn’t expecting was him.
Wesley Miller – is a well-respected emergency room doctor and heart transplant recipient. Burned by an ex-lover and almost life itself, he swore off love indefinitely to focus on himself and live what life he has left to the fullest.
All Wesley wanted to do was swing through Vegas for a few days and get back to business as usual. What he wasn’t planning was for his survival to depend on a woman who made a vow to herself to give up on saving others.
Rowan and Wesley will soon discover they share a connection that runs deeper than one random life-changing moment in Sin City.
With Every Beat is a full-length friends to lovers’ novel with a HEA and no cliffhanger that leads to book two, also a standalone.
This is a Fast Moving Medical Romance, and this is the first book in the Rescued series. I loved the beginning of this book, but I really feel the romance moved way too fast. I really did not like the fact they what for getting to know each other to having sex at the same moment I feel. I love a fast paced book, but I do not love a book where characters just jump into bed with each other. I won a Kindle edition of this book from a Goodreads giveaway. This review is my own honest opinion about the book like all my reviews are.
I want to thank Lyndsay Marie, author and Goodreads First Reads for the eBook Kindle copy of With Every Beat ~ Rescued ~ Book 1 that I won in the Giveaway.
Rowan Honeycutt and Westley Miller both are not interested in starting a new relationship for very different reasons, but the instant attraction in two chance meetings and Rowan, a nurse saving Westley's life changes that quickly.
The romance moved quickly with misunderstandings from lack of communication between the two. They had things in common too, like they both had a difficult relationship with their parents and they both had trust issues from unfaithful exes. They both had experience with organ donner in their past, which gave them a good understanding of how each other felt about giving and receiving in With Every Beat. The ending was a cute surprise.
Well that was a roller coaster book! Talk about emotional ups and downs! Rowan and Wesley seemed to have fate working extra hard for them and with all the twists and turns it took them on, they needed it. I loved that the author had me thinking one thing, feeling like I had it all figured out but nope. I love when I can be surprised like that. I’ll definitely be looking to see if one of Rowan’s friends gets their own book because I want to hang out with them a little longer. I was lucky enough to get my copy of this book through a Goodreads giveaway.
