Rate this book
Desmond Cole goes on a field trip to the museum in the ninth book of the Desmond Cole Ghost Patrol series!

Museums are great places to see really old stuff. The Kersville Museum has old paintings, old statues, and even old mummies that come with old curses. Sounds like a perfectly safe place to visit for family fun.

Until the mummies start to disappear!

With easy-to-read language and illustrations on almost every page, the Desmond Cole Ghost Patrol chapter books are perfect for emerging readers.

This series has my 8 year old son stoked to read. Book #9 did not disappoint him as he read it cover to cover within an hour. The illustrations are still fun and silly and the jokes had him laughing out loud! He finished the last page with a sigh and a smile and said "Mom, this is another 5 star on Goodreads."

My 6 year old was enamored with this book. Even my 4 year old, who is book resistant, was all in from beginning to end. I received this book in a Halloween Box from Blind Date Book Shop and we will be buying up the rest of the series. Miedoso's words are incredibly clever and speaks to kids at their level, engaging them further in the story. Riva's illustrations paired with each page of words are perfectly in tune to the story. My boys were laughing and spooked to their silly bones.

Sarah at Blind Date Book Shop really has a fantastic set up for the box and couldn't have picked a better book. She introduced us to a whole new series!

We enjoyed this book and will probably be checking out more in the series! A solid option for my son & daughter ages 7 & 6 -- the short chapter format also worked well for us!

I'm a huge fan of the Desmond Cole books, and eagerly preorder each of them, but this one fell a little short of my expectations. Maybe it's because mummies are both real people and something used in scary movies - it's hard to treat them thoughtfully (as it was clear the author wanted to do) as well as treating them like movie monsters. Nonetheless, the ending was positively adorable, and I'm still looking forward to the next book!
