The Masks of Under: Starter Set Books 1-3
The Masks of Under box set includes the first three novels of the dark paranormal fantasy series by Kathryn Ann Kingsley.
Everything about my life had been pretty ordinary, until the day I woke up with a mysterious symbol tattooed on my arm.
Suddenly, normal no longer existed. The barrier between Earth and a world called Under, dissolved.
Now, I’m trapped in a realm ruled by two masked kings—one hellbent on killing me while the other is determined to keep me alive. But here in the world of Under nothing is as it seems and trusting the wrong person can get you killed.

Seriously do yourself a favor and grab this starter set.
Because this series is AMAZING and once you start reading it you're going to want to jump directly into the next book as quickly as possible.
This is one of the most darkly unique and fascinating worlds I have come across in a long time. The depth and personality of the characters has made them some of my favorites. And if you are a sucker for a slightly crazy, twisted, dark and sexy Anti-Hero then Aon is the warlock for you.
I absolutely love this series and highly recommend it.
Because this series is AMAZING and once you start reading it you're going to want to jump directly into the next book as quickly as possible.

At the time of this posting, this entire series is available on Kindle Unlimited. Don't have a subscription to KU, well, here's another tip. This first three books are currently available as a boxed set for only $.99. Hopefully, the next three will soon be sold the same way. The last time I checked Amazon was even doing a 3 month KU subscription for $1.99 for new subscribers. So really, what are you waiting for?
You're welcome! Why did I just say that? Well, I think you will be thanking me soon enough for recommending this awesome series. Don't let the numerous sequels listed below scare you away, folks. I'm not normally a fan of cliffhanger endings that keep tugging at me and my purse strings to keep coughing up time and money to get to a conclusion. This go around both are totally worth it! Each book has a completely different feel to it as the plot and main characters keep evolving and moving into unexpected territory.
Yes, you absolutely must read these books in order. You'll be cheating yourself out of important multi-character/continuous unfolding plot development if you do. So, seriously, no short cuts, OK? You'll be walking around dazed and confused otherwise, and who wants to do that? Answer - nobody.
What you get here is a Greek mythology touch type backdrop in a world that is out of this world with a power struggle to the very finish. Interlaced with a romantic plot where the seemingly anti-hero seems likely to love this heroine to death. There is another male character you might be briefly tricked into thinking he is going to be the love interest. Thankfully, he is not. You guessed it. I didn't like that sub-character at first. However, even he eventually was given a whole different side to character that turned him into a good guy. We just didn't know his side of the story for some time.
On a parting note, here's a quick teaser tip from the opening chapter of Book 1. The heroine's job is to perform autopsies to determine cause of death. Well, I guess that is obvious. She isn't doing it for fun, after all. She often works alone in a dark, creepy basement surrounded by dead people. Well, she's about to get down to business and the body on the table comes alive and ... Well, you're going to have to jump in yourself to see how abduction, murder, and mayhem have this mere mortal heroine showing the supernatural world what grit, perseverance, determination, and self-sacrifice look like. Make no mistake...There will be blood. Some characters are killed off, while others live on when it seems impossible. Some morph into unexpected, unrecognizable ways they never imagined.
Enough said...Time for you to decide if you're up to peeking behind the masks that make up this paranormal series that is loaded with twists and turns I never saw coming.

Blown away
I’m addicted. Everything that Kat writes is mesmerising. What great characters Lydia and Aon are - love them, and how this story has unraveled. It’s fairly obvious what is going to happen (from the start) or at least I thought it was but ‘Kat’s amazing mind has created a world unimaginable and a story with so many twists and turns. No time to stop onto book 4! I highly recommend this for those looking to lose themselves in a world of fantasy, adventure, humour and a wee bit of romance thrown in. Now, definitely onto book 4.

Holy smokes!! I'm new to this author but MY GOODNESS! What a storyteller. I wasn't really sure what to expect but a likable (hilarious too), empathetic, brilliantly strong heroine and the most morally gray anti-hero ever wasn't it but I'm so not complaining.
Unique storyline, I really have never read anything like it. I can tell you how many times I went from "I hate this guy" to "Wait...that was so sweet" because the characters were so multi-faceted. Looking forward to finishing the series!

The masks of under
Is an absolute must read! The story so far has dragged me in and I have happily hone along for the ride. Laughter and tears come with this book and the way it has been written is amazing.the pain and the heartache you feel for the characters are as if you have been written alongside them. I can't wait to read more!

Lord, there is a lot of unnecessary detail and description in this book. It was an interesting premise that just didn’t pan out.
