No one told Quinn there was a cover charge to enter Hell - or that Valhalla didn't allow bar tabs.

Thanks to a witchy homebrew, Quinn MacKenna—part-time goddess, full-time troublemaker—has slipped past death’s door to rekindle an old flame and snuff out an old friend.

But in order to do that, Quinn will need allies, be they an alcoholic ferryman, a deadly Horseman, or some of the most feared and respected gods this side of the afterlife.

In a do or die effort to track down her old nemesis, Quinn must first expose dark truths, strike a bargain with Hades himself, and journey to a realm fraught with bloodshed and brimming with booze. The sort of place only a warrior could love—or a scrappy redhead from Boston.

Quinn quickly becomes immersed in all manner of schemes and intrigues that threaten to distract her from her goals - like starting a bar fight in Valhalla, or flying with the Valkyries, or surviving the mists of Niflheim with the power of a stolen kiss. Quinn’s devil may care attitude will lead her down a brimstone path paved with good intentions, reminding her that, sometimes, you have to be willing to lose everything if you want to find anything.

Especially if that thing happens to be a mythical city littered with ancient treasures.

In the end, Quinn will have no choice but to wallow in the past or embrace her future as her toughest crucible threatens to become her greatest failure. Will she emerge victorious, or will she remain doomed to wander the beyond for all eternity?

Come hell or high water, there’s only one way to find out.

If you like Jim Butcher, Kevin Hearne, Steve McHugh, Michael Anderle, Ilona Andrews, Patricia Briggs, Shannon Mayer, or K.F. Breene, you won't be able to put down the highly addictive Phantom Queen Diaries or anything else in the Temple Verse.

I’ve been a fan of these authors and their universe for a long time. I am always excited when a new book comes out, and I dived into this one. Quinn started this journey with many questions, and she ended it a different person. To get to this new place, she had to go through several different lands, including Hel, where she picked up some information, some new duds, and maybe some new allies. What a wild ride it was! I laughed, I gasped, and at one place I really, really winced. You need to read this one for some answers, but in true fashion, there are more questions. As always, I am amazed at these authors’ ability to tell a story. Recommend! I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

I really think we are on our way to something momentous, starting with this book. I get the feeling that the group is in for some rough times. Certainly, Quinn has been!

Brimstone Kiss is all about Quinn's journey towards finding herself and equally important, finding Ryan. The search for him, and the dangers encountered throughout, has been extremely rocky for Quinn. She goes through quite a bit more here that seems to be the culmination of the entire quest for saving Ryan that Quinn assigned herself; I don't think she's sure whether she's doing this out of guilt for not being there for her friend when he needed her most or for love of this friend that she's just discovering actually means something to her. Whatever motivated her, Brimstone Kiss is where it brought her, and the people she meets on this quest are quite a diverse group. She's dealing with more gods and goddesses than she anticipated, has run-ins with some infamous Norse mythology characters and ends up working herself darn near into an early grave, one she can't escape. Following this harrowing trail to find Mr. Frost, as Frankenstein calls him, is fascinating, so well devised, and so exciting that I read most of this in one night, unable to put it down.

Besides Ryan, Quinn has this desperate need to find Max, as well. While searching for Ryan, Max is never very far from her thoughts. A relationship between those two would be a really cool addition to the series, so I'm hoping that's what happens (no I'm not going to give you any spoilers, so don't look for any!). So many people to find, so little time.

In their inimitable way, Shayne and Camerson have outdone themselves with this addition to the Temple universe, and certainly to the Phantom Queen Diaries series. Perhaps the best, most poignant book in the story of Quinn, Brimstone thrilled me from beginning to end, and if you've been keeping up, I think you'll agree. The characters are so well fleshed out that there's no choice but to see them in your mind's eye, to feel them in your heart. The story flowed so smoothly that when the book was done I didn't even realize it. I love it when book endings take me by surprise because I'm so deeply ensconced in the story that I don't realize it's time to stop. I really love it when I look at the book and yell "Wait! I'm not done yet!". These two writers have done it to me before, and will do it to me again, but maybe not as completely as they did with this book.

So Excellently Done, Shayne and Cameron! So very Excellently Done indeed. You've outdone yourselves!

I received this copy as an ARC, and write this review in my own words and of my own volition. As always.

I love Quinn!

So much love for this character. This was an interesting turn of events. A lot of different pantheons colliding. So many well loved characters popping up and some new and interesting ones too. I definitely do NOT think you can read this story as a stand alone though.

The templeverse rules

Another cracking addition to the templeverse. This book was very interesting, a good story, plenty of emotions and great action. Quinn is bloody brilliant. I cant wait to read the next.

Wonderfully twisted, Quinn's brilliant journey comes to a head as she jumps realms chasing Ryan's path and the mad doctor's machinations. Her path is realized in awesome clarity as she encounter's Hades, Valhalla, and other fantastic locales. With their treks paralleled, one for power and revenge and the other justice, is it possible both will cross the line to see through their missions?
A beautiful conclusion to the "Hunt for Ryan" part of Quinn's story arc.

Quinn hits back

True, Quinn is like that scrawny kid who has too much heart to keep her mouth shut. But that's our Quinn, and now she hits back.

In this tenth book in the Phantom Queen series, Quinn MacKenna (part-time goddess and full-time troublemaker, according to the blurb) has considerably more success than she has had in many of the earlier books in her series. Usually, though she fights and scores and often wins, she is beset with so many obstacles and detours that she is still just as far from accomplishing her main objective by the end of the book as she was at the beginning. This time, though, although not everything on her ever-lengthening to-do list has been finished by the end, she has managed to tick off several major items, without losing her trademark wit along the way.

Of course, to get all this done, she has had to die – at least temporarily. She begins her journey in the classical Greek underworld drinking with Charon, the ferryman of Hades on his boat. But after she visits with Hades and Persephone and talks with Hemmingway, the Horseman of Death, it becomes clear that this time it is the Norse underworld she needs to visit.

Just about every god she talks to has a favor to ask of her in return for whatever help they are willing to give her; this is part of why it is so hard for her to accomplish her objectives every time. But in this book, she finally succeeds in finding Max and Ryan – though her results in saving them are mixed. This time she even succeeds in reaching Atlantis. And all this without dying for real, though there are several close calls.

BRIMSTONE KISS : (Phantom Queen Diaries Book 10) : SHAYNE SILVERS & CAMERON O'CONNELL.

T'ANKS LAD'S, 'YE MADE ANOTHER GRAND SLAM MOME RUN!

The Dynamic Duo Does It Again!!
BRIMSTONE KISS : THE KISS OF LIFE!

Oh my god I've being dying for this book, part 1 of a 3 book series crossover between Quinn MacKenna, Callie Penrose & Nate Temple in Shayne Silvers Templeverse Series!

My Family has been through the Week From Hell.
Monday: my Dr dropped my pain med's by 2/3rds at night, I'm sick & in pain.
Tuesday : my ex-partner, my BBF was stabbed 3 times @ work by a crazy man, once in each of the following : the back nicking & grazing his kidney & liver,
the L hand & R arm (he's ok physically, but recovering @ my home).
Wednesday : my puppy contracted conjunctivitis...the vet bill is outrageous!
Thursday: the pup passed it on to me & I got locked out of my house keys in hand & we had to break in!
Friday : an email from The Dynamic Duo who wrote this book, arrived in my inbox like some 'ANGhELLIC' sign, 'BRIM'ming like 'STONE's of wealth with a 'KISS' of life for me, signalling an end to the Week From Hell & it's 'CARNAGE', but by the end of the book I'm cursing them both!
So thank you, thank you, thank you, Shayne Silvers & Cameron O'Connell your timing is everything & just as I finish this BRIMSTON EKISS, CARNAGE part 2 arrives! YES!!

You Lad's hold me on the edge of my seat with the excitement, you make me laugh, you make me cry, but this time you didn't get me (I managed not to spit my drink laughing all over my tablet at any of the hilarious lines (this usually always happens & is a 1st for me with their writing)!

I just Love, Love, Love This Dynamic Duo The Caped Crusaders Chronicles & their sarcastic witty action packed sequences that have you laughing your ass off one minute, then bawling like new born babe the next. What these two can do with the simple flourish of their mighty pen's (notice I said pens) is hilariously insane & utter carnage.
These books are better than drugs, so consider this Aussie Bookworm fully hooked, addicted and main-lining Templeverse for Breakfast, Lunch, Appetizers, 1st Course, Main and top it off with that big sweet red juicy strawberry on top of Dessert to cap off the night with a perfect ending, but hey
before bed, I'll sneak in a Midnight Munchie or two too!

At long last we uncover some answers tying up some previous questions which is fabulous, but the master manipulator's leave us with many more burning questions than were answered leaving more twist and turns than San Francisco famous windy Lombard Street!
These authors know how to stick the knife in their readers, twirl it around & open the wounds, leaving them gaping just so & handing on in pain, but never for too long, they are insanely fast writers, thank Odin. But at least CARNAGE is here to continue on with and ANGHELLIC isn't too far off.

There's some brand new characters & some old favourites to meet & catch up with (actually I've only read this & the past 2 Quinn books, so almost all are new to me).
I don't know their back stories (unless they featured in the first 4 Nate Temple books) & how all these crazy characters seem to be connected in one giant soapy lovers wet dream of an incestuous tangled web of love they weave.
Some are lovable & endearing, some make you laugh so hard you'll blow snot bubbles on your screen cacking yourself up, (I just prey your not loaning a library book, you know with Covid-19 and all) while other's have no idea what a sense of humour is and are as straight as an arrow. Then there's the villains, whom we all love to hate, they're down right despicable and deserve to die screaming Quinn's name while she Ryan's them through, but is justice served or will the mongrel's slip away once more to continue on with their wicked ways for the long haul?

The world building is dynamite and out of this world literally! The descriptive imaginations of Shayne & Cameron from the new world's & realms Quinn visits to the clothes the characters wear and the way they move (think Hades), to the magic they perform & the weapons they brandish is just perfection personified.
Add to it the scenery of buildings, gardens, view, homes furnishings like you've never imagined before, it's so descriptively detailed you feel as if you're witnessing it first hand with all your senses, your sight, sound, smell, touch & taste rather than just picturing a scene in your the mind live a TV screen.

O'Connell & Silvers know how to squeeze blood from a stone to give their readers their money's worth on a epic urban fantasy journey the proportions of like you have never travelled before!
I feel like I've fallen down the rabbit hole or (the upside down sea) & I never want to return to reality, if only I could live in the Templeverse for life, I'd be the happiest FREAK of all.

We meet some well known figures and some of the most unexpected mythology figures taken throughout the world's history, and they occur from every realm, time and language and legends, from English, Welsh, Greek, Romanian, Egyptian, Irish, Roman and Norse mythology & oh so many more.
Silvers & O'Connell weave these titans, gods & goddesses of history effortlessly into the culmination of one warped crazy story from two even crazier & warped author's minds.

Taking both Quinn and yourself to places far & near to places thought not to resist as she visits, makes deals with, runs from, fights, kills & battles, loves & helps saves and accepts help the from multitude of zany notorious characters as you've never seen them before.

You're really in-store for the ride of your life and this is only part one of a three-way cross over, the culmination of Shayne Silvers 3 phenomenal series and his cray cray mind. And if it's this incredible already, I can't imagine what's it's store next in CARNAGE or the book after ANGHELLIC!

One of my favourite aspects of this book in particular is it was jammed packed full of smart, tough, strong, beautiful warrior women who can hold their own up against any man or god, whether it be outlasting, outplaying outwitting outfighting, outtalking, outdrinking or outflirting.
Shayne & Cameron are modern men with modern ideas that women are just as strong, powerful & smart as any man, after all 2 out of 3 of the main characters are women. A coincidence you say, I think not!

I RATE BRIMSTONE KISS
5 ⭐OUT OF 5 ⭐

I highly recommend this book, series & both authors. Run out & buy their books today, you won't regret, Happy Reading!

I received an ARC Copy of this book from the author's and this is my fair, honest and impartial review as always.

Wow, I loved this book. Quinn is determined to find Max and hopefully save Ryan. Will she be successful? Get comfy, because once you start this book, it’s really difficult to put it down! Quinn goes on a dangerous adventure, filled with lots of opportunities to be killed, and I was rooting for her all the way! I love Quinn. She smart, crafty, loyal, protective, willing to give others a second chance, brave, a great fighter, determined and always gives 100 percent! If I could choose someone to save me, Quinn would be my choice! This book is action-packed, with magic, adventure, danger, death, suspense, mystery, betrayal, Charon, Valkyries, Dr. Frankenstein, Max, Ryan, gods, goddesses, battles, gifts, humor, and lots more!

Open this book and KISS your boredom goodbye

Quinn is back and walking through Hell like she owns the place. A fantastic addition to the saga of our favorite red-headed lass. Cameron weaves great throwback pop culture references in with mythology to create a wonderful tapestry of badassery that will have you laughing and cheering as you turn the pages faster and faster.

A convergence of the three Templeverse series is on the horizon. The Masters are slowly being revealed. Things are speeding up and it’s too late to ask the conductor to slow the train down—besides, he’s just a ferryman and he’s drunk to boot! Strap yourself in for a wild ride!

Absolutely Fantastic!

I love the Templeverse and the wonderful characters that inhabit said universe.
This book was just as good as all of them. Shayne and Cameron have created a place that all the readers want to visit. Whether permanently or just for a short visit, everyone is welcomed.
I can't give it more than five stars, but in my head, it's at least Ten Stars.
I love the action, the snarkiness of the characters, the bad and the good.
I encourage everyone to read these awesome books.

Love this series

It was so nice not to end on a cliffhanger, and to have some questions answered/story lines tied up, while being left with new questions/ends that need tying and the hope that that means more books will be coming.
I really enjoy Quinn, and the cast of characters that surround her.

Always an incredible adventure.

The Templeverse is easily my favorite group of series out there anywhere. I highly recommend all three of them. Look up the chronological reading order, and enjoy an absolute multitude of AWESOME books. I look forward to every installment, and usually inhale them in a day. Though I have to admit that Nate Temple's part of this universe is my favorite, O'Connell is ABSOLUTELY a writer with all the chops necessary to create a thoroughly worthy, and remarkably fun and suspenseful series to add to the wonderfully rich and full Templeverse. I give my highest recommendation for every Templeverse book, and that certainly includes O'Connell's contributions in the Phantom Queen series. Read them all. Seriously. Start today. You will be ecstatic that you did.

PS- Special thanks to the authors for allowing the Templeverse to exist on Kindle Unlimited. I am disabled and have no income, so I would never be able to enjoy these absolutely wonderful books otherwise. Thank you Shayne and Cameron. A thousand times, thank you.

Oh, go to Hell.

No really. You have to go to Hell to get to Heaven... I meant Atlantis. Apparently all the various hells in all myths, mythos, legends, and religious texts are more or less adjacent. It's way more than my poor mortal brain can figure out. Quinn MacKenna doesn't seem to have a problem with It's design she has two, well, quests to complete before she can return to the Titan Lands of the Greek pantheon. Plus she has a message to deliver to Nate Temple's parents. Yep, you don't think with all they did in life they would be anywhere else? There's more, Shayne and Cameron packed this chapter to the brim.

This book was full to the brim(stone) with revelations, reflections and and good, old-fashioned chaos.

Brimstone Kiss is my favorite Quinn adventure yet. It is Quinn at her sarcastic and deepest self. I love the twists and turns. There are several aha moments that binds together the strands of Fate and hurls us closer to understanding. Be warned, you will laugh and cry, but you will be mesmerized by the tale as it unfolds. Shayne Silvers and Cameron O'Connell deliver yet another amazing story that was devoured in one sitting.

And I thought Hurricane was a trip!!! Brimstone Kiss starts up and never stops. Trying to hunt and help people can lead to all over, hell, other hell, more hell. What the hell??? So many places to go, people to kill!! You just have to love the rides that Cameron and Shayne throw you on and let them rip!!! Want to hit a Mead Hall and beat up some Mead Heads??? Or are they Meatheads??? Quinn loves to fight, and this book gives her what she wants!!
Stayed up because I couldn't not finish the book!!!

Well this is absolutely the best book we’ve gotten from the boys yet!! Seriously seriously good!! This was one fantastic voyage through Hell that no one but Quinn could conquer!! So many a-ha moments in this book for me...Cameron you’ve blown way past my expectations with this one!! The highway through Hell is paved with good intentions but throw a red-headed Goddess on that path and shenanigans will ensue! You’re in for a real treat in this one...all the action and feels you could ask for!!

Heady brew

Quinn is a handful. Beautiful, brilliant, and hair on fire nuts. You'd have to be to go to hell to rescue a man who did you wrong. You, and everyone else. Of course, he's c5azier than she is.
Quinn has friends she's forgotten, and she really sucks at negotiation. At least this time there is a tangible at the end. Kinda.
This woman is softer than she will ever let on, but hard as a iron gate when needed.
Definitely worth the read, especially as the 3 separate stories are coming together.

Quinn is in the house!!

Finally, our intrepid heroine, Quinn, finds her feet for the first time in a permanent way. The other installments left the reader feeling that the progress, improvements, or gifts Quinn received might be reversed, lost or just disappear. After tangling with the denizens of Hell, the immortal warriors of Valhalla, a bevy of Valkyries and countless gods, demi-gods, monsters and mayhem, we can finally feel like Quinn knows who and what she is, where she is going and whose butt she will kick when she gets there. Get comfy and grab a snack for this truly epic journey!

They've knocked another one out of the park

The latest installment in the Quinn McKenna books brings you back to where we last left quiz as she chases Ryan further into the underworld, and potentially to Atlantis. However this adventure also takes her in the other worlds that she really wasn't expecting, like to visit other goddesses, and potentially to find out more about her past

Ok, my whole family is caught up in CORVID-19 insanity (two hospitalized for other reasons, who we cannot visit, and 1 tested positive and in quarantine though no overt symptoms so far). Thank God for good books. It’s what’s keeping all of us sane. Brimstone Kids is a particularly good one, as I expected since I can count on anything written by this duo. Highly recommended for fun ... and sanity saving.

Hang on for a fast ride! This book takes us on a wild journey through a mix of pantheons and there are times when Quinn may be lost altogether. There's action aplenty and this book will make you laugh and cry in equal measure, as is their want the authors will bring you answers only to raise more questions.
A great addition to this ongoing spin off in the Templeverse world. This book is not a standalone and I would recommend reading everything that has gone before in this universe.

No cliffhanger ending! Quinn literally goes to Hell, meets up with some old friends, gets into a drinking contest with the boatman Charon, gets involved in a bar fight in Vahalla, and meets some actual Hel hounds. Really good tieing up of some old story lines and sets up more stories. Never trust the schemes of the Temples, even if you are Lord of Hell or a Goddess of the night

Brimstone Kiss is a fantastic addition to the series! Quinn is her sassy saucy self and it has previous characters along with some new ones. It of course has new twists, but it also gives us directions in to the future books for Quinn and the Nate Temple series! I loved every word and minute! It will have you on roller coaster of emotions. It was fabulous! I am voluntarily leaving my honest review after reading this arc, but as always I loved it so much I purchased my own copy!

Quinn is fantastic. I can see a lot of growth from her first book until now. Ten books into her story, and it's starting to fully weave into the rest of the Templeverse. Better late than never, I say. It took this long to build her tale properly, and it shows. Masters O'Connell and Silvers do a splendid job, and without succumbing to the lure of writing spoilers, this book left me with some gasps, some laughs and some, "I should have seen that coming" moments. Definitely a must-read!

Quinn has discovered some of her background, and some of her power, but she still has unfinished business to take care of. Will she make it out alive? Another wild ride!

Okay overall

Some things I love in this series. But this series is more talk and being unprepared and not having a clue what she's doing and bumbling around. I didn't expect a copy and paste Temple experience but things are super slow and seems like every step forward in this series is two steps back.
