One thing is certain, before this is all over, things are going to get mean...
R.K. Gleason was born in Grand Island, Nebraska in 196-something. He grew up, and spent most of his adult life living in Seattle. In late 1999, he met the love of his life, left his home in Seattle and moved to Ohio. Currently, R.K. lives in Columbus, Ohio with his best friend, and gorgeous wife, Petra. They have four children, currently two grandchildren, and ABSOLTELY no pets.
While R.K. grew up with a naturally vivid imagination, although his friends might argue some of it was self-induced, he seldom put his thoughts to paper. At the age of forty-eight, after the inspiration came to him in a dream, he began his first novel. On that day, The Truth Death and The Michele Shepard Series came to life.
Wow! What a ride! I really enjoyed this story as there is the right amount of gruesome and perfectly timed sarcasm to even things out, in a crazy good way. I am a zombie enthusiast, so to read a story that really is about survival and family is incredible. There is no romance here in the middle of the apocalypse. This is the journey of Dave and Pam’s family trying to make it to safety. There are zombies out there, roads are blocked off everywhere, and they need to find a new vehicle as theirs is just not going to make it. About the time they get a plan together they deal with the crazy survivors that are out for blood, no matter whose it is. New friendships are made and the group gets bigger. Dave is having a lot of doubts on whether he will be able to save everyone and the doubts grow with the new additions to the group. But as things get heavy, it really comes down to family and survival. I cannot wait to continue this journey with the family as I root for them to survive and get to safety.
The third instalment in the series sees Dave and Pam continuing west on their road trip from hell to reach their daughter. It doesn't take long for the three car convoy to run into trouble. It's the kind of trouble you just know isn't going to end well yet you can't look away from. Not only are there the zombies to contend with, but faced with the apocalypse those not infected turn mean as they fight for survival. The family must be careful who they trust and form alliances with. Meanwhile the government are bringing out the big guns to try and put an end to the mayhem before it ends them. A move that isn't helpful for any of them. Oddly funny, graphically gruesome horror story but ultimately a story about family and the lengths they will go to protect each other. Looking forward to the next one!
This is the perfect third installment to the Uppercase series. It gave me everything I didn't know I wanted but now I know I needed from it. I cannot wait for more!
