Inspiration Coffee & Wisdom Tea: Daily Delights at the Divine Coffeehouse

Rate this book
Every day, we awaken to the wonderful, rich aroma of coffee, providing a gentle push to make it through the morning rush. In the afternoon, as our bodies begin to tire, we look to tea to calm our nerves and help us finish our daily tasks. Those much-needed infusions of energy help keep our bodies going. But what about our minds? Our spirits? How do we give them the encouragement they need to stay inspired, focused, and joyful?

In Inspiration Coffee & Wisdom Tea: Daily Delight at the Divine Coffeehouse, Reverend Peter Vu offers his answer in a collection of inclusive, uplifting, and wisdom-filled messages. For each day of the year, there are two thoughtprovoking quotes, along with a short and encouraging interpretation of each, to boost our mood, mirth, and sense of purpose.

Regardless of who we are and where we come from, we are all a part of one human family, and if we can learn to help out each other, not only will our world become a kinder place, but we will also feel much better about ourselves. Inspiration Coffee & Wisdom Tea provides the blueprint for that reconnection, teaching us to fine-tune our characters and become better people--no matter where the day takes us.

About the Author

My name is Rev. Peter G. Vu, and I have been a Catholic priest of the Diocese of Grand Rapids, Michigan, for twenty years. I was born in Saigon City (currently Ho Chi Minh City), Viet Nam. I was a young boy when the Viet Nam War ended. I witnessed the war and the end of it with great horror and deep appreciation for peace. I had to grow up with the Communist government system and endured lots of hardship with them for over a decade. What helped me and many of my countrymen tremendously during those dark days was our faith and prayers. Hence, my love for prayers and meditations was able to blossom. Also, I was able to learn and exchange new ideas of prayers and mediations with many of my Buddhist friends. We got along quite well in spite of our different faith traditions.

I normally do not read books by ministers who have the title reverend because I do not believe men should be revered, only God. But this man is an exception. Before taking this book, I checked into other books he had written and found him to be sound theological to my core beliefs and then, this book was found the same. I love this book and though I have been struggling lately with my own walk, this book has been very helpful to me. Maybe now I must reevaluate my opinion on reverends.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I am enjoying this book. Each day is divided into two parts. One for the morning and one for the evening but the author doesn't guilty you and you can do your two sections throughout the day without guilt.
Each section contains a quote, a short discussion and a prayer. This is perfect for busy days and helps me keep up with my study.
I would recommend this to anyone who is trying to keep up with daily Christian study.

I received an ARC through NetGalley; all opinions are my own.

Inspiration Coffee & Wisdom Tea is a nice daily devotional book that invites the reader to begin each day with a thought provoking quote, followed by ways to implement that quote into every day life and ending with a prayer. I found the quotes interesting and the overall book interesting. I do have to say that this was a bit different than I anticipated and different from other devotional books that I have read. With that being said, I feel that this will appeal to a target audience and is worth a look.

I love my coffee and tea, and this book of inspirations and wisdoms is a nice touch to start the day with! There are many proverbs for each day, it seems, so I"m thinking, read one a day, beginning on whatever date it is, and one should be able to be inspired for a few years! Or, just randomly read the little verses when you feel the need for a lift! Nice gift book for someone of the Christian faiths. Nice and inspiring!
I received a Kindle arc from Netgalley in exchange for a fair review.

Peter Vu's book of inspiration and wisdom is formatted in bite-sized pieces. This is a great devotional or motivating book to use every day. Vu has given a saying for the morning and the afternoon along with some reflection on that saying. Some come from sacred texts, others from influential leaders and people of history. Being your morning with a cup of coffee and a shot of inspiration. Finish the day with a cup of tea and reflect on wisdom gained.

Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this book. I loved in the introduction they described the book as "One is to inspire us like coffee or latter int he morning, while another is like tea, giving us some wisdom to help us face our daily decisions with confidence." I enjoyed the format of the book, but I did not know it was going to be so religious. Otherwise, great book.

A nice daily reminder that there is hope. Rev. Vu takes from multiple writers, not just the Christian bible, to make his points. Quick reads to start or end the day. This is one of those books that you will read every day and start over again and again and again.......

I will be reading for this daily reminder in 2020. This is a daily dose of wisdom and pray to help you get through your day to day. Just from the first set of quotes I know this will be very useful to me. I know I’m going to be highlighting many passages and inspirations.
