Turn the Tables by Priya Kumar is an inspirational book that tells the readers how to overcome hurdles and change them into possibilities. She wrote eleven novels and a recognized motivational orator. I read her book for the first time. Being a fan of non-fiction, I choose this book to learn something distinct.

The book starts with a parable of Buddha, which further leads to twenty-eight chapters consists of Priya Kumar's accomplishments, anecdotes, and what she learned over these past few years. She talks about her school life struggles and how they mold her into a bigger person. She had nine years of experience as a French tutor, but one day she decides to quit her job and try her fate in motivational speaking. I connect with this part because I also left my teaching job and began working as a full-time blogger; which was not an easy task. To step out from your comfort zone and push your limits is not everyone's forte, but when you find the courage to do, it will become the best decision of your life.

This book aims to change your vision, embrace your connections, and learn to handle and solve problems too. Although, I feel the content is repetitive. The language is easily understandable, and writing is flawless. In some places, I felt that the author was self-engrossed. Overall, this book is a light read, given with the questionnaire after each chapter to help you evaluate your life. I recommend this to the newbie or someone who needs any inspiration from another person's experiences.

Book name : Turn The Tables
Author : Priya Kumar
Publication : Books That Inspire

Turn the tables means to change a situation so that you now have an advantage over someone or something they previously advantage over you.

Author had penned down the lessons that she had learned through personal experiences.

There are 28 chapters. All chapters are connected and yet independent. So don't take burden, choose your personal favorite chapter for reading.

The best thing which I learned through this book is, "Don't follow blindly to your idol, first plot your start & end point & then draw a map according to that". This point is so true. We always buy some Non-fiction books from famous author & start following them blindly but we have to understand that all these tricks work for them will not work for you bcoz circumstances are different for everyone. So follow only those tips which are suitable for your present situation.

Author shared a parable in the book which tells that "The problem is the answer". Through this parables she wants to suggest that 'you' become the solution of your problems. At the end of every chapter given some questionnaire which helps to analyze yourself & find the solutions. So when your read this book try to answer all questions it will definitely gives you a roadmap to your goals.

There are many useful lessons shared throughout the book. If we apply these lessons to our problems we will definitely get solution.

It's like a story book as author shares her personal experience in very simple language. Not boring like typical Non-fiction books. So also recommend for those who don't like Non-fiction.

I really liked the book. Hope you will also like it. Highly recommended to everyone.

To begin with, I received the book in best of attractive packaging plus a diary to really keep as a memory.

My book was signed copy by author herself added to a diary in it. The best thing I liked was the whole collection as it came. It did increase my hopes with book after reading the Author's Note part in the book. It is the actual attraction of all books that touch the public.

Coming to criticism proper, I felt this lady has not left any stone unturned in relating situations and creating it to a positive vibe for self help. She has actually written the book in the best of her emotions, good or sad or be it tiredness may be, which is really has kind of illuminating feeling in reader after reading this book. I wonder why a person who attended her motivational events can't resist to attend next such events of her again.

The author wrote a very touching book plus literally an appreciative literature too. The style and language of her writing and expression beginning from intro sections in form of note, been of extreme brilliance. Ofcourse this isn't any flattery of the book, but this book is meant for all ages regardless of profession or field of study. Not just any common masterclass kinda claiming book, but simple attire of lovely motivation and inspiration for self help. In short she well elicited that God helps those who help themselves.

A must buy book, thankfully not some masterclass converted to book claiming to be some genius, but a book you and me can read and imply.

This book will definitely stir up your emotions and charge your mind with an inspirational dose!

As I have heard so much about priya kumar's writing style. I thought to give it a go! And well, I loved it!

This book is full of nuggets of wisdom /anecdotes of inspiration and will surely leave an impact on the reader.

The book has everything from the author's personal journey to her artistic stories in between and quotes that strike a chord with the reader.

What I could make out of this was - she says that problems are a blessing and challenges bring solutions too! She expands over it throughout the chapters.

There are so many of her life experiences which are included here; be it - her journey as a motivational speaker / her student life / her author experiences.

One can learn a lot from this one.

Owing to the book's content : Inspirational books have a different genre and are yet not settled into the Indian market.

So, if you are seeking a different read which motivates you. Then this one is for you!

This is basically a self help book. Author has divided the book into many chapters and explained the chapters with some stories of her life. All total there are 28 chapters and every chapter provides us with new way to turn the tables. She has shared the times when she failed and how she overcame the situation to be an inspiring lady that she is today. The book starts with the story of Bhikkhu(one of the many names of Buddha is Bhikkhu) and it took my attention then and there.

My take:This was my first book of Priya ma'am and I was excited to get this one. This came with an amazing packaging and a beautiful diary with the book. The writing style is pretty simple so that it's helpful from ameture reader to the pros. The questions that is there at the ending of each chapter are really innovative and helpful. The cover picture where the author is smiling spreads positivity. I loved the experience of reading this book.
So please go and grab your copy!!

"For every problem that life presents, be the best solution that ever was."

Turn the tables is a must read for everyone.
Priya Kumar is a internationally known motivational speaker. She has written 11 such books and in this book she has put her life experiences. Though this book carry the life events and the experiences of the author, this book also provide enough dosage of all the aspects that are listed under self-help genre viz: motivation, success, problem solving, positive mindset etc etc. The book has 28 chapters each serving it's own purpose. At the end there are questions that the author has given so you could pen your thoughts down. I like this concept it makes it like interactive session. It's like interacting with the author where book stands as the mode of communication. And penning down our thoughts makes our mind more clear. The most beautiful part about this book is that the language is easy to understand. It makes it quite age and language friendly.

This is the first book by Priya Kumar that I read and I'm impressed. Her easy language and to the point writing style makes the reading easy and fruitful. This self help/motivational book is full of lessons the author has learnt through her life and career. There's a story at the beginning and the ending of the book which is very sensible and puts it's point to the reader straight up. The language of the book is lucid and the author shares all the lessons she's learnt and her experiences. At the end of each chapter there are questions asked which are related to the parameters mentioned in the chapter. That is a part that I really liked because it helps one get accustomed to those parameters. Each chapter has a quirky title to it and the only thing that could've been was the cover. I absolutely loved the book.

"You will find your place of glory. The countdown has begun on your success story."

Welcome to "Turn the Tables" by Priya Kumar where the author penned down all the lessons that she learned while facing and overcoming challenges in her life. She didn't let the challenges overpower her, but instead turned them into the greatest opportunity for growth. And we can all see her success. Now, it's our turn!

Priya Kumar believes that to ask for success is to ask for challenges, because highest success always lies in overcoming challenges. So, it's high time that we learn our lessons from our challenges and take a step towards success and turn the tables.

In "Turn the Tables", Priya Kumar takes out pages from her own experiences and puts them down for us to decipher the success mantra for our own journey towards our dream destination.

Explained with examples from real-life experiences and practical knowledge, the book takes into consideration every hardships that might be encountered on our journey towards our goal and tries to offer the best solution and the perfect mindset to deal with them and overcome them.

Often, when we see successful people, we only see their achievements. This book makes us see their struggles as well. Every single struggle, hardship, challenges, hardwork that goes behind the scenes unnoticed is made prominent in this book.

The questions asked at the end of each chapter help us to reflect upon the lessons learned and understand how to relate it to our life and its current situation so that we can apply it on our journey and grow along.

Even though the book falls under the genre of non-fiction, the readers will often find themselves engaged in stories. For, author Priya Kumar doesn't like to inspire without narrating a few tales related to the lesson. No wonder she loves to call herself a storyteller!

And what's more, Priya Kumar has a great way of using humour to deliver the lessons. That way, even if we forget the lesson, we won't forget the laugh and that will remind us of the lessons learnt!

"Turn the Tables" by Priya Kumar is for all those who are born with an urge to achieve success by doing something great in life. It's for the ones who have this unending urge to grow, create magic and build their own destiny. And for all those ambitious souls, this isn't a book to read, put away and forget. It's a book to revisit, make notes, learn lessons and apply them in life to climb the ladders of success.

"If you stay in the game, you will have your chance to turn the tables."

Turn The Tables - from challenges to opportunities. I found this book interesting for a never giving attitude of the author. She shared her story about her journey from drooping as a teacher to pursue what she had planner for herself. Different chapters talk about any challenge she faced in her journey and how she overcome those.
The best part of the book is, she relate it to the corporate scenarios we generally see in the office settings and helps it to understand & suggests what should be our actions in certain situations.

The best chapter or I may say the best lesson I learned and will always remember here is: "While a child/student acquires knowledge every year and then promoted to a higher standard, why don't we ask ourselves what skill have we acquired this year?" And this was highly motivation for me to set some targets and makes a little progress each day, so I can promote myself to a next level in terms of skills, knowledge, experience & confidence.
I recommend this book to everyone and specially the job seekers/freshers, it will help you to grow.

“Turn the Tables,” is written by Priya Kumar who is a teacher, author and motivational speaker.
In this book, she offers twenty-eight motivational life lessons to guide readers on how to turn challenges into opportunities. Challenges can come from people, situations, short-sightedness, wrong attitudes, and lack of knowledge. In most cases, we can’t change others around us, but we can work on building our knowledge, changing our attitudes and how we think, because people and situations are constant, and we can only change ourselves.

After each lesson is a section titled, “The Right Attitude Turns the Tables.” In this area, Kumar offers thought provoking questions that pertain to the reader’s personal experience regarding the lesson just covered. There is space to journal answers as well. I found the questions to be very helpful in that I could really see how the information presented applied to me. The last question is geared towards helping the reader seek answers to how they can or how they have handled personal situations experienced that relate to the topic. This section is extremely empowering because it helps people seek answers based upon their personal insights and experiences.

I love Kumar’s writing style in that she writes like she is talking directly to the reader. It made me feel like I had a one-on-one session with her, instead of just reading a book. I appreciated that she disclosed a lot of personal information about where she made mistakes in her life. By sharing her personal experiences, she might be helping some readers avoid her mistakes. She also lets us know how she overcame her setbacks and moved forward. Judging by her success as an author who has won thirty-two international book awards, it is clear that her work is greatly appreciated, and it is nice to see that it is honored.

I know that “Turn the Tables,” is going to have an impact on my life. Much of the lessons presented have aspects that apply to my life. As I read, I felt that this book would be a perfect gift for a college graduate, or someone newly entering the work world. Everyone will benefit from the lessons provided. It would be nice for someone just starting out to have access to this resource so that they can avoid making mistakes that many of us had to learn about the hard way. I think the areas that especially help a young adult would be about relationships and setting boundaries. In several areas, I felt that Kumar made it very clear to always act professional and to walk away when being disrespected. She mentioned how some people laugh when they are uncomfortable about how they are being treated and why this is the wrong step to take. I would love for all females to read this part! So much information is to be learned in these pages. “Turn the Tables,” by Priya Kumar is a must read!

This book purports to be from 'inspiration' genre and while Priya Kumar does a pretty good job of being a motivational speaker, sharing lessons by referring her own journey, the book also suffers some of the downsides of this genre - insensitivity towards those who may be suffering or might not be performing due to whatever reasons. The end goal of human life has to be beyond productivity and performance and this is where Priya falls short despite her claim to be on a spiritual journey. Despite this the book is pretty good as it's rooted in experience and I breezed through it easily and could relate with many chapters/ lessons.

Turn the tables
Write:- Priya kumar
Published:- books that inspire
Page:- 278
Format:- Paperback
Genre:- Self-Help

Blurb:-
I have learned from my failures and even more from my successes, and I have dissected them both, event by event. While situations have changed over the years, the success principles have remained the same. As you are reading mine, let this book also serve as an idea for you
to write down your own principles of success and lessons in failure, so whether it reaches a ne else or not, it is your reminder of the path that you may sometimes find yourself straying from. Everything adds up. Nothing is ever out of place. We set ourselves up for the game, the day we made our goals and invited our dreams to determine our future, The journey forward is not so much about accomplishing our dreams as much as it is of becoming worthy of them. In holding this book in your hands, you have made me a part of that journey, and you have become a part of mine. So, opening the doors to my world, and if yours is a similar world, then we have connected on a level beyond words. We have connected at a level where kindred souls reside living in parallel realities but similar lives. And if that is where you find yourself to be, write to me, about lessons that you have learned so my life can be better. I may not have reached the place you have moved on from, but a note from you would make my experience enriching and powerful, knowing that although it may seem like it, I am not alone, for you have been there before. From one kindred soul to another, here's wishing you the best life ever, this lifetime and more.

How many times have you faced something and said that this is something beyond my capabilities?
Has it ever happened that you have set a goal for yourself and when faced with adverse conditions given up on it?

Welcome to the basic context of Turn the Tables by Priya Kumar. It is a book that takes the reader on a journey through challenges into opportunities. The book has the lessons that the author has learnt through her experience that life presented to her and from these experiences, she tries to extract a learning and move forward with it. The book presents multiple situations that will be relatable to everyone at some level or the other and the solution, if understood correctly, will seem extremely doable. Turn the Tables is a book that helps the reader create a mindset that can change every challenge into an opportunity and take the reins to control their own life.

The book is divided into 28 chapters, each of which deals with a concept of personality development, management, communication and people skills. In each of these concepts, the case presented is simple yet captivating for the reader so that the message is able to penetrate deep into the mind of the reader. Priya has taken up her success, failures, interactions and experiences to drive the messages home. Baring some of her critical learning points, the core message that is built is that each experience is an opportunity and it is upon the person to take responsibility and recognize it.

The book is quite easy to understand and comprehend. Priya has used a simple language so that the message is driven effectively to the reader. The questionnaires at the end of each chapter are interesting and helps the reader analyze his or her life choices and help them relate the concept described to their own life and thus helping them turn the table on their lives. The fictional stories with which the book opens, and closes are very interesting and should be read with emphasis on understanding.

My recommendation is that a reader should give due time to the book and try to space out the chapters, understand them and comprehend them before moving ahead with the next one. That would be the best way to imbibe the concepts presented.

Over all, a 3.85/5 score for me.

🔖Review -⁣
"When you become the solution to any problem that life hurls at you, you will win without having to fight life or others." ⁣

Turn The Tables is an exploration of life's journey through its innumerable experiences, challenging situations and thus extracting out from them the 'Pearls Of Success'. ⁣

- The book begins with a special note from the author where she discusses the literal meaning of the title of the book and how she landed up writing this masterpiece.⁣

-The book is more or less an autobiographical account as the author discusses the various challenges that life threw in the path to her dreams and how she grew out to become the best answer to them. ⁣

- The book contains a wide range of knowledgeable & motivational facts that are quite relevant and realistic. Its my personal advice to keep a notebook along while reading so that you can jot down the points that seem more useful. ⁣

- The author inspires and motivates her readers never to loose hope and always follow the right and worthy path even if for some time it may appear as a wrong decision. ⁣

- The self to do questionare at the end of each chapter is very helpful and makes sure whether the readers have really absorbed each and every concept discussed in that particular chapter properly or not. ⁣

- The importance of one's attitude in turning a problem into either a liability or a steeping stone to success has also been specifically underlined. ⁣

- The book has been written in a simple and easy to understand language enabling readers of every age group to read and understand it to the fullest. ⁣

- The title of the book has been well thought off and goes well with the plot. The cover of the book seems quite attractive too. ⁣

- In the last pages the author sums up all the plot points discussed throughout the book and urges the readers to apply them in their practical life in order to ensure a more fulfilling and successful life. ⁣

- A must read for all the readers who are looking for someone and something to inspire and guide them through the perspectives of success.
