A woman whose reputation was destroyed. A powerful earl who longs for children. Can they ignore the raging gossip and find happiness together?

Lady Diana de Wolfe's curiosity about kissing led to her ruin before she ever made her come-out in London. Banished from her home by a furious, disappointed father, Diana gives birth out of wedlock to twins and supports her family, without help, until her parents' deaths. Her brother, the new Earl of Reston, welcomes her back into the family fold and takes Diana to London, hoping she can make a match—and demanding she keep silent about her children until she lands a husband.

Oliver Ward, Earl of Merrifield, raised his siblings after his father's tragic death and his mother's subsequent madness. With his brother at university and his sister making her come-out, Oliver is ready to find a wife and start a family of his own. His good friend, Lady Merrick, whom he almost wed, promises to help him find the right woman. Meeting shortly before the London Season begins, Oliver is drawn to Diana's spirit and beauty. Her attraction for him only grows when he learns about her precocious twins, and he is determined to make her his.

Will the rumors regarding Diana's past mistakes doom this couple in society's eyes-or can love overcome gossip and save them both?

Diana occurs after the events written about in Alexa Aston's bestselling St. Clairs Trilogy and is a part of the De Wolfe Pack Connected World.

Excellent
Very enjoyable and a wonderful way to spend the evening,
Alexa always knows just how to get my blood flowing and heart pounding.

Wether it be a devilish plot or a hero to sigh about , I’m always satisfied with the results.

Diana is a brilliant start to series of The De Wolfe’s Of Esterly Castle.
Thrown out by her father , ruined and pregnant, Diana must fend for herself and her children by any means possible.

Oliver Ward , Earl Of Merrifield has been in previous books in The Saint Claire’s series, as have many others who appear .

This part I loved , continuing the lives of some awesome characters and joining them to this series is perfect.
After his failed relationship in the previous series it was great to see Oliver get his hea .

A satisfying and enjoyable experience this book was wonderful.

I received an Arc copy of this book and chose to post this review

Diana's reputation was ruined as a young lady. Banished she took her children and made a life for herself. Years later she makes her debut in London and meets the Earl of Merrifield. The instant attraction between them is what he wants for a wife, even knowing about the twins. Now all he has to do is convince her. A beautiful love story that will make you cry.

Scandal befalls a young Lady Diana de Wolfe

This story began with a curious young woman wanting to be kissed and ended up pregnant. Her father wanted to give away the baby to a family to raise. She refused to give up her own child, so her father banned her , giving her a cottage in a village with 10 lbs a year income. She bore twins a boy Finn and a girl Mena. When her father passed away her brother and sister invited her to go home and her brother wanted to take her to London for the Season to find a husband. Lord Merrifield was looking for a wife as he wanted to settle down and raise a family. The two meet in a bookstore for a book reading. And the love story begins. Short read but a nice story. A nice read for a Sunday.

I loved Oliver & Diana's journey to happiness! Ms. Aston always has such great a great story & then the wonderful characters she creates makes for a fantastic read. This was a fairly short read but everything I love in an Historical Romance was in it!

Lady Diana de Wolfe is the daughter of an earl but was banned from her family after becoming pregnant & refusing to give up her baby. Now, seven years later her parents have died & her brother, the new Earl of Reston, wants Diana back in the family with him & their sister. Diana is thrilled but insists on bringing her twins to London & her brother agrees but wants her to keep the children's existence quiet until Diana can find a husband in the soon to start Season.

Oliver Ward, Earl of Merrifield, is now 28 yrs old & took over the title when he was just 19 yrs. old after a riding accident killed his father & a few years later his mother went mad with grief. Oliver raised his younger brother& raised his younger brother & sister - his brother was now at university & his sister was to make her debut this Season, Oliver is ready to find a wife and start a family of his own.

The wonderful journey for this couple starts here & it won't be a smooth ride. It was lovely revisiting the characters from the St. Clairs Series, although you don't need to read them first. I highly recommend this book & am going to go read Book 2, Derek.

The start of a new series that promises to be as amazing as all of the stories by this author!
A single choice can change life forever as Lady Diana de Wolfe unfortunately learned. Even though her father gave her a chance to give up the baby that would be born out of wedlock or he would banished forever from her home, she knew what she had to do.
Years later, after working hard and raising her precious twins on her own, her brother, the new Earl of Reston pulls her back into the family after the deaths of her parents. So now is her chance to shine! She never had a season so off to London they go to look find her a suitable husband. Of course he will have to be willing to take in her children! Is it possible?
Fate seems to be in store when she meets Oliver, the Earl of Merrifield who adores children. He raised his siblings after all and he is looking for a wife to share his life.
What an amazing story that just warmed my heart. Oliver was just so sigh worthy and perfect for her, but could they be together when there is someone lurking in the background? Prepare to be enchanted and unable to put this one down until you reach the end! As always this author keeps writing stories that win me over every time!!

ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT STORY!! I had to shout! So well written and so lovely for a romantic read with low drama, no real angst, a marvelous HEA. I will be rereading this often as a bedtime book to relax to. Oscar is so perfect, and I LOVE THAT, Diana is a woman of steel and forged from fire and adversity.
The reality of how she came to get herself in such a predicament, is all too true for far too many curious youth who do not realize the power they are playing with.
The book moved smoothly and was so comfortable to read I got lost in the movie in my mind and never saw the words or realized I had "flipped" a page.

I already pre-ordered the next book and can't wait. I wish there were 20 book by Alexa of this sort, but the DeWolfe world is so large already and I have so many yet to read. It is a fine stand alone if you've no idea of the De Wolfe world.

It is a sweet romantic story that doesn't need the fetters of angst driven plots. Give me my fluff and let me enjoy it! Alexa has done an amazing job to capture my heart with this book. The details are just enough but do not go on and on, the descriptions of people are real not cheesy.

You really would be amiss to not read this book!!

Thoughts:

-

- I liked Amelia and Thea's friendship.

- Loved how other characters from the authors' books appeared. Now I can not wait to read their books either.

- Linda was a b!tch. I was so satisfied with how the Duke and Oliver handled the situation when she tried to cause trouble. Oh! Her husband seemed mad.

- I do not get that Diana knew the symptoms of pregnancy yet she did not think of the repercussions of unsafe sex. I mean she knew she was pregnant. I can't grasp the thought of her not knowing how babies are made.

- I loved Rachel.

Anyway, overall, I enjoyed the book. The friendships between the main characters and the secondary characters were amazing to read. I loved the bond. I would definitely recommend both the author and the book.

Lady Diana de Wolfe has just reunited with her siblings after being cast out by her father. Her brother has persuaded her to try and find a husband to give her twins the father they need. She is hoping that London hasn't yet heard of her disgrace.
Oliver Ward the Earl of Merrifield loves children and is more than ready to marry. With the season about to start he is hoping this will be his time to find the woman he wants.
This is a lot of fun, with fabulous characters. Our heroine has a rough few years on her own but it has made her a much better person. Our hero knows exactly what he wants and will not allow anyone to stand in his way.
This is part of a lovely series of stand alone books. They are all thoroughly enjoyable reads. Hopefully there will be more to come.

Great Story

I enjoy reading the books written by Alexa Aston! This is a book about the de Wolfe family.
Lady Diana finds herself pregnant and when she doesn’t agree to give up the child he tells her that she is no longer allowed to live at home.
She had to learn how to cook, tend a garden, make her own clothes etc.
Six years later both of her parents have died and her brother is now the Earl.
They go to London so her younger sister, Thea could have a season.
Different things occur and Diana life is changed when she meets Oliver Ward, Earl of Merrifield.
This is a book I would recommend!

Having made a youthful mistake, Diana is disowned by a strict, unforgiving father. She is forced to make a life not only for herself, but her beautiful twins. When she learns of her father’s death, she reunites with her siblings. Her brother decrees that she should go to London and have the Season she was denied. After all, her children need a father. Diana reluctantly agrees. Oliver Ward wants a wife. But, not just female will do. He wants the beauty he met at the bookstore. As he begins to court the lovely Diana, he learns her secret. As they make their way to a happily ever after, there is one who would destroy it all.
This is a great crossover book, blending two very loved series.

Lovely story of acceptance

I very much enjoyed the story of Diana, a young girl whose life was forever altered by one action. She was banished from her family as a result of her decisions and spent years as an outcast from her community.
After several years have passed, with the encouragement of her siblings, Diana decides to attempt to find a husband. She attends the London season, aka: the marriage mart.
Lord Oliver, is quite a catch, but will Diana's past put him off?
This plot had a great deal to do with the judgement of others, the damage of gossip, and the healing power of acceptance and love.
I recommend it, and am looking forward to the next by this author.

A Dream Come True

Oliver had lost Rachel to another and dreamed of a match this season. He loved children and wanted a home with love and laughter. Diana was turned out of her home because she wouldn’t give up her children. She was ruined in the eye of society. Oliver didn’t care about what society said, he wanted her children and he loved Diana. He believed in her and wanted her for his countess and her children would be his and accepted in society. Her White Knight had really rescued her.

Diana has twins who she loves with all her heart, results from a mistake she made as a young wild child with a mind of her own. She has had to learn to learn to survive on next to nothing although she would not change a thing. Her parents are now deceased and her siblings now are welcoming her and her children back home. Her brother being the new Earl wants to see his sister settled so he is taking her to London to find a husband although Diana has doubts about her ruined reputation following her. Diana is right to be worried BEWARE of vile backstabbing people you thought was a friend.

Love a second chance

Diana was young and impulsive and not told at a young age kissing can lead to a lot more than you ever imagined! Mother of twins ostracized from her family she is cast out and made a life for herself and her children! Oliver has decided to marry and took one look at Diana and knows she is the one! Convincing her and getting ahead of vicious gossip will be interesting but nothing is impossible with love!

RUINED!

And not just ruined, but pregnant, with twins! And the father is dead!
The usual trope. The only question is - who rescued her, and why.
The characters are good. The villain is conveniently dead - well, there are a couple backbiting harpies, a rogue or two, but she's safe in the bosom of her family, friends, and fiance.
The settings are nicely developed, the dialogue decent.
This book is a good way to escape for a few hours.

EXPERIMENTING, SHAME, LOVE & FAMILY

4 STARS for this well written interesting story. It's exciting but shows a huge falling out between a Father & daughter. Only after the Father's death does Diana reunite with her siblings to go to London for the Ton Season to find a husband. The reader is presented with good & bad qualities of those met in London. I enjoyed reading this.

I started to leave this 4 stars, but I think it's closer to 3 1/2 or even 3. This is a short, easy read with very little drama or angst. The beginning is the most emotional part, and I found myself wishing that the h's father or mother had stayed alive during the story for more of a satisfying character arc for both Diana and them. The idea of a young, entitled woman of means being abandoned in the middle of nowhere, without even a maid, then having and raising twins is somewhat unrealistic, so I would have liked it if this part of the novella had been better fleshed out. Surely someone from the village would have helped or befriended her? My imagination started to populate the novella with secondary characters and twists that could have been created but weren't.

And this is the reason why I'm giving this 3 stars and not 4.

The plot is super straightforward, with various conflicts touched on, but nothing developed. The H is a great guy, gorgeous, loves kids, a hero, etc. (there's a rescue scene that could have led to something interesting but nothing becomes of it). I don't have a problem with a "cinnamon roll" hero, but this H has so little internal or external conflict regarding the heroine that there's no character arc at all. He's determined to marry her from the get-go. H/h's scenes have the promise of steam, but there is no on-page consummation even after the wedding.

Overall, this feels more like a "bridge novella" in a series, introducing new characters in a superficial way while reminding the reader of the cast of characters from the previous series. The problem is that I didn't feel drawn to Diana's younger brother--one of the MC's in the next entry--at all. The H's sister--the other MC in the next entry--is slightly more interesting. But if the plot and character development are lacking, as may be the case, there isn't much reason to read it.

Bottom line: engaging and enjoyable in places, but H/h's characters and the plot don't develop enough to hold interest through the end.
