Kai and his twin brother Kendrick are paranormal warriors. After being captured by a human para-military group, Kai, his brother and the members of their paranormal town are put in detainment camps, experimented on, and forced to serve their captors. The brothers are then rescued by an earthbound goddess along with a small band of warriors who are imbued with special powers and tasked with rescuing Iolair, the Eagle, In the process of doing so, the warriors uncover a plot by Iolair's parents to capture earth's paranormals and experiment on them in labs. The band is then tasked with stopping Iolair's parents.

This is a complex story with many characters, subplots and backstories that are slowly unveiled over the course of the book. I had a difficult time following the intricacies of the story in the audiobook format. The multiple points of view and frequent interchange of the characters full names with nicknames made it hard to keep track of what was going on. I had a hard time maintaining my interest in the story. I liked the book well enough, but just never got very invested it in or the characters. I think perhaps I might have liked this book better in written format.

Samantha Brentmoor was a good narrator. She did a great job with giving each character different accents. I think, perhaps that was part of the problem getting invested in the story, in that I had to really auditoraily work to process the story past the many strong accents. Her pace was also somewhat slower than I prefer.

Other reviewers have had more positive responses than I have. I did not dislike the book in any way and had no real criticisms of it. I just did not get invested in it. I would recommend that paranormal romance genre lovers give it a try. I personally will not follow up with the next book.

I enjoyed this.
I don’t know if .5 to book one is as smooth as what it could be. A couple of things that were/wernt spoken about in this one from the first one I think the boys should have been told.

3.5 star listen
Narration was good
This book seems to be set 100 years after the .5 story about the twins parents.
I believe book two will focus on this other twin.
Gifted audio in exchange for an honest review.
Quite steamy, moderately detailed sex scenes.
Trigger warnings needed for neglect, human experimentation.

Eagle’s keeper by Vanessa Ross is the first book in the Fiann Company Series that I listened to on audio narrated by Samantha Brentmoor.

Samantha did an amazing job narrating. I really enjoyed her accent and the voices she used for the multiple characters.

I read the prequel Creating Warriors first which I found very helpful to having Kai and Kendrix parents history going into this story. Vanessa definitely does not disappoint with Iolair and Kai’s love story.
I really enjoyed the multiple points of view throughout the book. I can’t wait to dive into book two of the series Royal’s Light.

I would recommend this series to anyone who likes Paranormal Romance.

Wow and I thought his parents story was a wild ride.
Kai and his twin Kendrick have been taken and find out their father is dead and now they have to serve the General , but with the Giddesses help they leave and find Lolair. She has been betrayed by her own family and friends and because of the experimental treatments she is now a shifter and has other powers, they love hard and lose more than they care to think about but when you read this book it will leave you wanting to have the next book in your hands .
