The Impersonal Life Volume 2: The Christ Message

Rate this book
More than 100 years after the release of the book The Impersonal Life, Sun Center Publishing House Phils. Inc. presents another installation of The Impersonal Message written by Joseph S. Benner: The Impersonal Life Volume 2: The Christ Message. This text was written between 1914 and 1925 in Love’s response to the Great Call of all Truth seekers for further explanation of the Divine Law as given in The Impersonal Life, published in 1914.

This text is one of four manuscripts by Mr. Benner that were never published in book form, although they were intended as accompanying volumes to the book The Impersonal Life; they were advertised twice—first, during Mr. Benner's time, and again, in September 1939 after his passing. It first came out as instructional material used in his Summer Classes—comprehensive short courses intended to ground students in the Impersonal Truths and thereby make them “Christ Workers.” The text also appeared as a series of articles entitled, “Jesus Christ,” in a monthly publication circulated among students.

We have compiled these articles into book form, making minor changes, updating the language for the modern reader as necessary, and adding reflection questions. But perhaps most notably, the text has been reworked to point the reader to one very important fact: that the Christ speaking throughout this book is the One Divine Consciousness—the One Christ Principle in All, working through every form of life, whether cosmic or planetary. He is the very Life in all of us in which we live, move, and have our being. This Christ is not confined within any historical, religious, or occult Christ—in fact, He is All in all.
