Cocky. Sexy. Billionaire. It’s a pretty impressive list, but there’s more to him than that. He charms my pants off, literally, and I have no complaints. In fact, I’m falling for the tech tycoon more and more every day. But things aren’t always that easy, and my past soon comes back to haunt me. Danger is around the corner, and I have to admit I’m scared, not just for myself, but for the man that I love. Can my heart handle the sacrifice that needs to be made to keep him safe?
Hayden Simmons
I never saw her coming. She’s a brilliant hacker with curves for days, and I need to make good use of her skills. Normally, I wouldn’t dream of mixing business with pleasure, but she awakens a desire within me that is undeniable. Before long, I find myself obsessed. Then, everything goes wrong. She might think she needs to distance herself because of her baggage, but she’s nuts if she thinks I’d ever let her go. Hayden is mine.
Dominic is a tech company owner and wants to test his software before releasing to a client. Hayden is recommended to test his system. She's got insecurity issues, especially with a drop dead gorgeous sister as well as a deep dark secret. A few drinks and a leaky roof bring them even closer together. Dominic knows he wants her and he's going to have her. Things are going well and her past comes back to haunt her, she does what she can, but doesn't want to get Dominic involved, but things just get worse and trust is broken. Loved the suspense and loved Dominic and of course our heroin, Hayden, she's strong and worth the risk.
This was great! I loved this one, I originally read it when Adrian posted the chapters on their Facebook page and when I found out it was posted to bookfunnel I had to get my copy to read it again! It was great! Totally worth the read!
Plot: Hayden is a hacker/programmer and Dominic is going to hire her to do some work for his company. He finds himself drawn to her for more than business, though, and as they get to know each other, he realizes she is his one. She has secrets, though, secrets that may put them both in danger.
Commentary: Hayden suffered from some low self-esteem, mainly from being compared to her sister, an actual model, throughout her whole life. She's also suffering from grief after losing her mother within the last year. She's actually really lucky that she ran into Dominic instead of someone with bad intentions. Whenever there's a case in a book where a character doesn't tell the other character something - they're keeping a secret - and it's to keep the other person safe, I always feel bad. If the person would just have told the other what was going on, they wouldn't have suffered so much. On the other hand, it's always a case of them not knowing each other for that long, so of course the trust isn't fully there! That's what happened here. Hayden could have told Dominic about her past, and he was upset she didn't, but she didn't because she wanted to keep him safe. But I have to believe that she might have told him naturally if she had known him longer and hadn't had the crisis of the escaped revenge-seeker. Anyways, this was a solid story with a well-paced plot and interesting characters.
