It takes more than one alpha to bring an omega to her knees.
Claire has sworn off alphas, but when her investigation into the murder of her friend puts her in the sights of not one but three of them, her resolve is tested. Even as she craves their touch, she refuses to fall for them. They can have her body, but she'll protect her heart at any cost.
Bryce, Joshua and Kaidan don't want an omega of their own, but they can't resist the mystery woman who breaks into their office. Her scent, her curves and her taste lure them, but they want more than just her body. It will take all three of them to play her at her own game and convince her to give them a chance.
As they navigate their complex relationship, Claire's search for the killer alpha puts them all in danger. Can they come together to face the threat, or will their secrets and fears destroy everything they've found?
Jayce Carter lives in Southern California with her husband and two spawns. She originally wanted to take over the world but realized that would require wearing pants. This led her to choosing writing, a completely pants-free occupation. She has a fear of heights yet rock climbs for fun and enjoys making up excuses for not going out and socializing.
That is a steamy RH story, full of hot sexy scenes, and smut.
I like that Claire is a strong independent woman and even though she ends up with 3 alphas, they respect her and do not treat her like an object (like it is often the case in alpha-omega stories). Of course, there is the part where she does not want to be with an alpha and they do not leave her alone, but it felt less like a “forced upon” relationship than the other omegaverse stories I’ve read.
Claire is trying to find the alpha who killed her omega friend, and she is caught by three alphas while breaking into their office. Honestly, the whole murder investigation is only an excuse to read about their hot RH relationship.
It is a quick read, fast-paced, but it is still a good RH, even though the three guys are the same in every reverse-harem story: the funny one, the kind and caring one, and the strong dominant one.
I really enjoyed reading this book, I do not know yet if I will read the next book because it's not a sequel, it is more of another standalone in the same setting, but it might be worth it just for the smut.
This is my second omegaverse book and it didn't work for me. While I love the concept of the omegaverse, so far, I've hated the execution and the omega. For some reason, the two I've read, the omegas hate the alphas and they don't want anything to do with them, so even though they can't resist them, they resist them and the fight them. There's fear and loathing, mistrust and unease, even while there's an inevitable attraction and an undeniable heat between them. They can't deny the physical pull between them, but the omega pushes the alphas away with everything in them. When I think of the dominant alpha and the submissive omega, I think of a symbiotic relationship where one empowers and protects while the other revels in the care and comfort. Unfortunately, this is nothing like that. Neither was the other book I read. Maybe this whole omegas hating the alphas and intentionally forcing their distance from them is the norm? What do I know, I've only read two books, but both books, I've rapidly gotten tired of the heroine's attitude and couldn't be bothered reading on or trying to finish the book. Of course, these are romances, so I skipped to the end and found they do have a happy ever after together, but frankly with the kind of fight the omegas put up along the way, I do not have the patience to wade through all that angst and battling between the omegas and the alphas. In this one, granted, Claire seems to have had a bad experience with a previous alpha and is wary and fearful of them. That said though, Bryce, Joshua, and Kaidan came to her aid unasked and were only careful, protective, and kind to her. She lets her fear rule her rather than opening up to the possibility that they are good men. I do not like when the heroine automatically and without reason based on her own prejudices writes off the heroes. Some might think it's worth reading and worth it for the heroes to have to work hard for the heroine's affections, but to me a relationship is all about give and take, and it didn't look like there was going to be any give with Claire for the long time. I didn't have the patience to wade through her fears and her prejudices. I don't like resistant, defiant heroines mired in fear and mistrust. I'm not sure if I'll give another omegaverse a try. Like I said, I love the concept. I'll think about it. The guys in this one are great, BTW. And the writing itself it quite decent. Oh and the opening scene when the guys come upon Claire breaking into the office? Hot as heck. That was good.
What I like about Claire the most is her independence. The way she helps other women who is like her and will go to all lengths. When I first started to read this book, it went right into some erotic stuff which kind of throws me but then as I read I see why it lead in such a steamy way. The refusal to take an alpha is what I like the best and how the three hunk go about changing her mind. Kaidan is my favorite and his character I think really helps her the most. Bryce is interesting and help bring the heat to the story, and I can picture Joshua as the most amazing flirty hunk. I can't wait to read the next!
So I’ve been looking for omega verse reads that keep me hooked like the sweet verse and I may have found it in this one. The book may deal with heavy topics and trauma, but none of the abuse or horrible behavior comes from the three love interests, which is great. I will say Claire got on my nerves towards the end. The extensive repeats of her being upset that the men didn’t “trust her” not to leave why they tried to figure out the true killer drove me up the wall because she admitted that if they told her the truth up front she definitely would have left like they thought she would. Like girl I get being upset, but it dragged on to long. Anyway, I’ll definitely check out the next book in the series.
4.5 Stars I highly enjoyed this book. From the very first chapter, I became hooked on these characters and their budding romance. I needed more and I could not put this book down! I definitely wish I would have picked it up sooner.
Claire- Claire is probably the only reason I didn’t rate this book five stars. While realistic, her hesitation to trust the guys after they had proved their intentions many times became frustrating after a while. Claire also fell into the “don’t realize what you have until you’re losing it” trope which is one I’m not the biggest fan of. I’m like duhhh, why did it take that happening for you to see it?!?!
The Guys- I loved the guys a lot. Each of them were very different from the others and I came to adore each of their personalities separately. They did make some mistakes, but I completely get why they did it and I loved them as characters.
*Check the triggers- this book contains scenes of coercion and dub-con that are fairly typical of omegaverse stories, but some readers may find these triggering. There are other triggers such as tragic past/DV, but I’m not gunna put a full list in this review.
This story is decent, although I do tend to agree with the other reviewers that there is a lot of sex just for the sake of sex that didn’t really do anything for the story. I mostly just skimmed through those scenes though, because I was more interested in what was going on with the plot. I get why the author threw a lot of scenes in, but I don’t really think she needed them to keep the readers hooked because the story stood up on its own in my opinion.
I though Claire was super frustrating and I wanted to just shake her the whole time. Fans of the genre will know this character archetype and probably be equally as frustrated 🤣 she’s the omega who doesn’t want or need alphas and is independent to the point where she’s a detriment to her own safety. She also has major trust issues (which are understandable based on her past), but those issues make her come across as obstinate and honestly a bit mean at times (I felt really bad for Bryce a couple times).
The major breaking point in the story was also frustrating. She keeps a lot of secrets from them in the beginning because she doesn’t trust them and then they keep secrets from her for her ‘own good’ and of course she finds out and then jumps to all the worst conclusions and puts herself in danger. The aftermath of their fight is super uncomfy with her icing them out but them continuing to have sex with her even though she’s mentally checked out and only physically participating (this is the dubcon part that I think bothered a lot of the negative reviewers). I think there was a lack of maturity across the board here with them not discussing the issue like adults. She’s 30 and the guys are all mid to late 30s from what I could tell… so they’re grown ups but they act like teens which was kinda annoying.

I enjoyed this, even if it's a new style and type of book for me. It's kind of a fun change of pace for me though. I don't think in my heart I'm very polyamorous though. I would find myself thinking like oh she should just be with Kaidan! Like the other book I read in this series I seem to be a big fan of the Alpha that is more tame and gentle than the rest. I find that highly amusing because I normally like reading about very alpha type characters, but then again they have to have some softness to be appealing. The 3 males in this book did seem to be characters and kind of one noted, but I get that it was to show the difference in all of them and why you want/need all of them to "complete" you.
Overall I am enjoying this series but I feel like a big huge perv while reading them. lol
Gave this series a try because I loved the Sweet Omegaverse series from Kathryn Moon and she recommended this series on her Facebook group. It’s definitely a MUCH different vibe from Kathryn’s omega verse (much darker), but I can appreciate a darker take on omega verses.
In this world, alpha/omega pairings are usually 1:1. Omegas are rare and can be “bought” from their parents young. The heroine, Claire, was basically sold by her parents when she was 18. She’s been on the run for 10 years, helping other omegas living off the grid by taking medical suppressants so she won’t get her “heat.”
Claire is investigating the murder of a woman she helped, who was murdered by an alpha. Due to her continuous negative experiences and negative experiences of the women she’s helped, she doesn’t trust alphas at all. So when she’s caught while investigating a security business by 3 alphas, she’s terrified. And they’re drawn to her.
I think my main issues with the book was: -The world building wasn’t clearly defined. It’s described as “a reverse harem shifter romance” but only 1 “shift” happens in the book and it’s out of anger and wasn’t intentional. Would have liked to see more clear lines on what was possible/usual/unusual because I didn’t even realize it was a shifter romance. -TW for dubious consent. In this world omegas “need” sex when they’re in heat or they could get injured or die. I think it was also implied that if they’re horny but don’t have sex they can be hurt? Because she’s extremely passive in some cases, doesn’t speak, doesn’t consent, but because her “scent” says she’s turned on, the guys have sex with her while she’s mad at them and giving them the silent treatment. -I think of alpha/omega characters with more stereotypical traits… alphas are stern, provide care; omegas need care; alphas have barks; omegas have whines. These are things prevalent in the only other shifter series I’ve read, Sweet Omegaverse. Those were missing from here, and maybe that was because Claire has been alone and on the run for 10 years, she doesn’t really act like an omega? But the symbiotic relationship between alphas/omegas that are sort of the reason I’m drawn to these types of books wasn’t there. -Through the book there was no positive cases of alpha/omega relationship shown. When I looked through the summaries of future books, they all look pretty bleak too!
Owned by the Alphas (The Omega's Alphas #1) by Jayce Carter 4 stars M/M/F/M Romance Triggers: Addiction, Domestic Abuse, Kidnapping I was given this book for an honest review by Wicked Reads.
Bryce, Joshua and Kaidan are alphas who all have baggage. They own a security business and when their office is broken in to, the last thing they expect to find is an Omega.
Claire is an omega who knows that she is worth more than a lot of alphas believe she is. Her own life is a series of unfortunate scenarios that were out of her control. When Claire is able to take control again, she vows to never let another alpha control her every again. But, something is happening to the omegas that are under Claire's watch. She knows that an alpha is hunting them, but can't figure out how her smart, savvy omegas are being fooled.
When Claire breaks in to the security office, the last thing she expects is to get caught, let alone go in to heat. While this book begins with some very sweaty sex, the way that the characters grow and develop throughout this book is wonderful.
While the alphas are trying to keep Claire from running, she is continuing to try and solve her original mystery. When the alphas vow to help her, Claire starts to let her guard down. She wants to trust them, even though her experience with alphas is less than stellar.
Love, betrayal, violence and trust are all running rampant through this book. The characters are complex and unique, all wrapped in the protective blanket that only the alphas can provide. I really enjoyed this book and can't wait for more to come!
So many parts of this just didn’t work. I went into this assuming it was going to be a RH with wolves. The synopsis hints at the heroine not wanting the relationship, which makes them gaining her love the goal of the book.
The book actually was simply erotica. I appreciate erotic novels like the next gal, but I didn’t set out to read erotica. I thought I’d get an interesting plot. I’m simply disappointed because the answer the all the problems ended with sex. Sex should not be a coping mechanism or the answer to every single problem in a relationship.
This story needed more character development. If you’re going to give readers a heroine who’s been through something horrific, you can’t just jump into the sex. When the conflict was finally resolved, it was done so in an underdeveloped manner.
This has such high reviews and it’s completely confusing as to why. I don’t want to be rude because I understand that authors put a lot of work into stories. I just think that the synopsis and plot was misleading.
What should I say? That book wasn't all bad. It is an RH story. It has smut and steamy scenes. The plot is a little darker. But that isn't a problem for me. I have no triggers and have read darker books. God only knows that the Omegaverse is mostly of the darker stuff. With some exceptions. Like Sweetverse.
But even though it wasn't that bad, it wasn't perfect. I saw some misspellings in the book. It isn't terrible, because there were only a few and mostly single words. So, as long as I can understand what I read, it's OK. And authors and proofreaders are only humans, no machines. It's easy to make a mistake and oversee it. And the writing was in 3rd person. It's not my preferred narrative perspective. But it is still OK.
Things that were a difficulty for me are mostly content based. Like Claire, the Omega. I have nothing against independent and strong women. In fact, I would encourage that. I'm a woman myself. And the world is in need of good characters and role models. So I have no concerns when female characters are stubborn. But at least there should be a reason. I get it, emotions aren't logical. And Claire had a lot of bad experiences with Alphas. But she was a pain in the ass with her attitude towards the guys. They tried to help her. She only thinks the worst of them. Defied them, without a real reason. Only "all Alphas are bad". I hated that. And worst of all, she hurt their feelings. Again, without reason. Only to push them away. And lying to herself that she didn't want anything from them. It's terrible.
So, it was hard to read. She keeps this attitude for nearly the entire book. It got better after 65% of the book. Oh, boy. I couldn't read the book in one run. I tried. But OK.
I liked the guys mostly. They were distinctive enough. They had their backgrounds and traits and all. Though, they are still the typical stereotype. You can find such in other books, too. One controlling, one fun, charming guy, and one sweet and caring. But again, that wasn't that big of a problem. But some actions were dubious. Like when Claire was in that dark condition after they lied to her, and she found out. I mean, they had sex with her. Because that was the only way she would react to them. But she didn't talk to them. And it's clear that it isn't the right action.
And then the unnecessary dramatics. She jumps into danger, without them, because — of course — she can't trust them. So, she ends up getting beaten a few times. And some other stuff. I don't have any issue with a plot with twists and turns. But they not be used too often and should be well-placed. I would have preferred it when there was more talk about the world and society. And an epilogue.
So, 3.5 stars, it is. I think I will read the next books, but not directly now.
Book #1 (Each book focus on one Omega-Alphas relationship, the MCs for the next book are introduced in this one)
🆗 RH ✅🆗 Smut 🆗⬇️ Romance ✅ Alphas & Omega (not shifters) ✅ Omega in Heat ✅ Possessive alpha males ⬇️ Bond/Mate (not sure of the difference in this series) 🆗⬇️ Instant attraction
‼️Potential trigger warnings:‼️
❗Biologically Omegas are submissive ❗Abusive relationships ❗Murders ❗Running away, new identity ❗Betrayal and consequent depression and loss of will and inner confidence
Introduction:
When Claire, an Omega with a deep distrust for Alphas, finds her friend has been murdered and no one seems to be interested, she decides to investigate and avenge her friend.
Claire knows an Alpha is involved and despite her dread in attracting the attention of an Alpha, Claire pursues the leads on her friend's case by breaking into an office.
An office belonging to a security agency.
A security agency headed by three Alphas.
So when she is caught, she is surprised to discover that her fear and anger aren't her most intense feelings. They are still there, after all she is not naive enough to believe an Alpha is anything else than a controlling conceited stubburn rage fueled as*hole, but those feelings are just not the ones that are rulling her in that moment.
Proximity to her enemies, a killer to find, hormones running free, her friends to protect, the life of this omega is full of secrets.
‼️Small spoilers ahead‼️
Notes:
Nice enough story.
Though, Instant attraction, which I don't mind. Added with deep rooted fear of the type of being the romantic interests are, in this case Alphas, because of past trauma, so she still had some reservations, okay. Starts to trust them a little but then they lie and all her inner confidence and self trust is shatered. Okay... And then after a short time and quite suddenly, specially after such betrayal and loss of self, from one moment to the other it's "I love them" after all, everything is forgiven / there is nothing to forgive, I wish I hadn't lost that time with you (this even before the final confrontation when she wrote the note). This was what didn't work for me. To overcome that state she was in... I don't know what needed to happen but not something as quick and simple as what did happen.
As always my respect to the author. No hate nor hurt intended with this review.
The amount of typos in this fucking book gave me a headache that resulted from irritation at whoever edited this thing.
I really want to start off and say that this book was not inherently bad. However, this is one of those books that can test readers in a variety of different ways. Whether it be the horny omegas who have an instinct to follow their alphas, or the hard-headedness of the main female character, or the idea that your body wanting sex means your mind wants sex, when that isn't always the truth. We also have this idea where the main male characters are saying oh, just because some alphas are bad, doesn't mean we all are, and then the author turns around and describes situations that sound pretty fucking bad all across the board and occur because of the bystander effect which seems to have taken hold of society in this story.
Claire was just a really weird amalgamation. She was very head strong, and that's not bad, but she didn't seem like the type of person who knows how to pick their battles or think very effectively and efficiently. The amount of times she could have died in this book was just a bit too much for me.
I believe I found this book on an Omegaverse Facebook group, and I’m glad I did!
This story follows Claire, an omega who has been abused by alphas in her past and now spends her time helping other omegas escape abuse. While she is digging into a crime, she breaks into a security company desperate to connect a PIN number to an individual and hopefully catch a killer. However, what she neglected to take into account is that breaking into a security company means they have top notch security themselves and soon she is faced with 3 angry and suspicious alphas. Before she can talk her way out of the situation, she is overcome by her heat cycle and the alphas are left with a choice: turn her over to the police or “help” her themselves and hopefully get some answers.
I am a total sucker for an omega who rejects her designation and alphas set on wooing her. But, what I liked most about this story was that there was an equal amount of smut and plot; something that can be hard to balance in an omegaverse novel. I did struggle with Claire’s stubbornness at times (she demands honesty, but isn’t always honest herself) but the character development and the unique alpha personalities made up for it.
Subsequent books in this series of standalones follow secondary omega characters seen in this novel, so you have plenty of material to keep on reading after this book!
Here we dabbled again in Alphas and Omegas. Tagged as reverse harem. We have our omega Claire who has a very deep aversion to Alphas. It starts with her going into heat when she was found snooping in the three alphas office. With that in mind, I'd like to say this is definitely very very smutty.
Our female protagonist definitely stuck to her "I don't trust you at all" route and I commend that. I felt like could have expanded more on her helping with other omegas and them helping other omegas too. Made them more of just three alphas pining for the omega and an omega who don't trust nobody. That basically just became the crux of the story here.
I was thinking, Claire's plan was a bit ludicrous as someone who "helps" omegas all along .
This was a pretty classic omega story. Wounded omega with a bad past meets alphas who want to show her how different they are. There were good parts to the book but I didn’t like how a lot of the sex scenes felt more like they were forced Bc of biology and not Bc she wanted to be having sex. I would have been much happier if when they betrayed her she had just left and made them work to get her back. The way she stuck around and still kept ha big meaningless sex with them put a sour taste in my mouth for the characters. They knew she didn’t want them but her body didn’t care and still they pushed it. I know that this is the thing with omegas. Biology and what not controlling them. So some readers might not mind that which is fine. But for me personally it brought the book down a little.
It’s probably closer to a 4 than a 3 but I’m slightly up in the air about how I feel about this one. A really great premise for the book and I did enjoy a lot of it but I guess I felt like she was pushed into things especially the sex they initiate after she tries to kill Kaidan - I’m not sure she was in the right headspace for that….with that being said I think the author did a great job of playing out the aftermath of that and having our main character Claire work through that. I will say this story starts off with a bang (literally) and keeps up the pace from there! I’m intrigued enough to read more of the stories she has in this series but I’m sure I’ll be annoyed with the men in those as well. Typical pushy alphas but was surprised by how head strong our main character Claire was and I really enjoyed that aspect! Deals with a lot of real world issues and I would caution readers to that before diving in! ( TW: assault, mentions of rape and murder, violence)

Most omegaverse books have an element of dub-con, as a side effect of omega biology of nothing else. This book took it to the next (worse) level. The alphas using sex to fix a real relationship issue was gross and ruined the character development for me. The omega deciding to forgive the alphas for no real reason (and the betrayal was heinous) undermined her as a strong FMC, survivor, character worth reading about. That said, there weren't any glaring grammar issues, there wasn't much world building but much wasn't needed in a typical omegaverse novel and the overall plot was slightly interesting.... so if you don't mind the rest, maybe you'll enjoy the book. Personally, I'll not read anything else by this author.
I can not stand this writing trope of fmc thinking that they never need to let go of their righteous anger “until it’s too late”. Trauma takes different amounts of time for different people but you still need to actively try to heal, it doesn’t just go away over night. Men/Women aren’t the solution to help put yourself back together either. Also, this book would have read easier with different POV. Not knowing when certain characters thoughts ended and others began was a little hard to discern. I want to read other books in the series bc I did like the plot but with this authors writing style, I’m not sure I will enjoy them. Willing to give it a shot, however.
I picked this book as a "pallet cleanser", trying to ward off a reading slump. And for me, (please keep in mind I am trying to ward off a slump and may be further than i thought), it just fell flat for me. It had all the classic pieces of a "dark" Omegaverse, but it isn't quite hit for me. I may have enjoyed it more, but i downloaded it on KU and the grammar at times was difficult to understand. Not in an 'Im being picky' sort of way, but in an 'IU have to reread this paragraph several times to figure it out;' sort of way. Another note being switching of POV without warning, with indicating it in any way. There is 1 FMC and 3 MMC and i really struggled sometimes figuring out who is talking about who and what is happening. Book has potential, but isn't for me right now.
Dnf 38% this girl was doing the opposite of everything that she was saying. It made so soo frustrated and mad cause I liked her at the very beginning with her strong opinions too. It was a bit odd at the beginning with strangers but I let it go cause heat yk. But after that? Miss girly just kept doing things she said she would never do and trusting them too upon meeting them for a couple of days and most of those she was in heat! The guys annoyed me tf too cause they kept saying they weren’t controlling but they always told her what to do and kept coming at her. It did make sense at the beginning cause she broke in but after that ?? Sorry but I just couldn’t.
I loved Bryce, Joshua and Kaidan, but was annoyed like 90% of the time by Claire. To me she was very much not relatable or likeable. She had a bad experience with an Alph, helped others who also had bad experiences with Alphas, and even after meeting and bonding with Bryce, Joshua and Kaidan getting to know them and learning that they are good Alphas, she continues to push them away. After one incident she completely writes them off and lumps them together as typical tyrannical Alphas without even hearing them out, that is until she's in the enemies' hands and then it's, well they are different and I do love them. I didn't not like the story, just didn't love the main h.
I did not expect this book. I mean the author did warn about some traumatic past, but this book was traumatic? I mean it had thr sweet moments and all but it kinda felt weird. I mean it had some dub con in it.. It doesn't say it in the description but when it's not a clear yes from the female then it's dub con. Defenetly on the hotter side. I wouldn't call erotica though. It had adventure, despair, and many more. I probably would have enjoyed it more if I knew how deep the trauma was running.
Well this should be called Taming the Alphas - because they are all very polite, careful and very sweet. The three 3 Alphas knotted and purred only after each one of them politely asked for her consent. Better aligned to women's fiction. The heroine acts as a vigilante, counsellor, judge, jury and marine, on her self appointed role saving omegas from brutal Alphas. I like real Omegaverse with raw and nasty Alphas who rage and rampage to protect their Omegas. Sadly, this is not the series for me.
This was a recommended read from a FB group. The storyline was okay and the sex started before you even got a handle on who the players were...or even most of their names. That might have been forgivable but it needed a serious edit. No misspellings but a lot of really confusing and broken sentence structure that tossed you out of the story and made you question if you wanted to continue or go start a load of laundry.
All in all, not terrible but I'm not compelled in any way to continue on with the series.
Such an interesting story. It had everything a good story should have. Spice, progress, action, suspense and a happily ever after. I think the only thing that I disliked was the writing style. I had a hard time keeping up with who the chapters were following and often times it slipped into points where it seemed like it was following all of them at the same time. I usually enjoy reading in the third person view but I found this one to be hard to follow.
First time reader of this amazing author!! Loved this book about a strong and feisty Omega, Claire, who’s determined to stay independent and distrustful of all Alphas. Until she meets three super sexy Alphas, Bryce, Joshua, and Kaidan, whom she can’t keep at arms length for long. There is danger lurking in the background and trust in the balance. This book is steamy hot and sexy!
I don’t often encounter stories of alphas and omegas when none of them are werewolves but it makes sense to me that it would transcend that trope. The story was engaging but needs an editor to go through it as there were numerous corrections that need to be made throughout the manuscript. That being said, I still found it quite enjoyable and would love to read more from this author.
I read this a while ago on one of those chapter apps(a bit worried that it's not supposed to be there, if that's the case I didn't know) I was so excited to find out it's on KU and I wouldn't have to watch an ad every couple of pages.
I love this story. I love these characters. I imagine all the guys with southern accents for some reason, and that works fine for me. Good balance of plot and spice. Just 🤌🤌
