Never a dull moment as this fast paced storyline with drama-filled characters kept me reading. I was so hoping the best for Mercedes as she was in a dangerous situation. Good connection of characters. Plenty of action has me looking forward to reading the next part. Good collaboration

Hail to the Queen
Domestic violence is a serious problem that happens every second of the day. You really hit home and showed how even the strongest woman is privy to this type of abuse. I am glad you told the story from Mercedes traumatic experience but sent a knight to save her from the destruction she was heading for. Men who abuse are insecure and would never step to a man the way they do these women. This hit home in so many way thanks for the journey Survivor no longer a victim

Okay this cliffhanger 🙄 but fr tho it's some £uck boys in this book. Main and Chris has got to go. My heart really goes out to Mercedes and the women like her over the world. I don't understand what makes ppl like them want to stay in a unhealthy environment especially when you have kids. I really hope the wait for book two isn't long

I must say the drama in this series is real Mercedes was treated so bad by her baby daddy beaten and abused. Duke came in and saved her from her bad situation. Kiyah avoided major but the heart wants what it wants. Hurry up part 2

This was a slow start, a very slow start but the ending was so bombed that it bought the rating up...
So first time reading a collaboration authors with one of the authors being a first time read for me, and it was weird... First of, it was a little bit too slow for my taste but by the time we got to the ending, the pace picked up, the adrenaline kicked in and it was bombed...
Mercedes, a very low self esteem woman, seems to be alone, no parents, nothing, but allows to be a door mat and a roll over puppy to anyone. Not your typical strong independent black woman, at least she is educated.
Kyiah, strong independent black woman (maddea' style of strong woman)... Does not take nothing from anyone and is a self acclaim intelligent educated black woman.
Major, a strong educated black man. All about his bread and his family. Loyal and protective.
Duke, thug, alpha, strong temper. Also educated, strong intelligent black man but I don't know why he doesn't have businesses all over like Major does (we think he does) because running the street will get old Soonner rather than later.
Now, few flaws in this story is the developmental circumstances that Mercedes got herself into and I thought that was borderline deceptive to us the readers. I mean, I know it's easier said than done, but if I am reading a book, I want to read about how I can make a change to my current situation and not read more onto why this situations is the same as mine and why... That said, I was hoping that the ladies uses this platform to educate the battered woman out there that hope is closer than we think it is, and here are the steps to be taken to the same situations that we are leaving into in real life. The other issues is the lack of bossiness that the man possess. I mean Duke presents it, but Major has this sweet tendency about him while he should have been a ruthless boss like Duke sometimes presents himself to be, hint: Maine... I do believe that all of those thugs, gangster, kingpin heroes would have already smoked Maine and Chris for that matter of fact.
Now Karma has several people to visits and soon, now: Maine, Raina, Nisha, Chris, Petey, Stormi are all in the line up for a special visit from her, and I can't wait to see what kind of gifts she came bearing.. Now Kyiah for her to be so strong and leveled headed, she should have said something about Chris, and they would have taken care of him and Maine a while back. And Mercedes, with Maine running around hiding, how come she don't have something to protect herself and or Duke had someone shadowing her; this is what a boss does to protect what's important to them specially when they know what they are into, DUH!!! And again this is this sense of lacking that I am talking about regarding these man whom want to be looking or acting like bosses. Ladies, more research and better thinking please. Let me see if the finale will be better...

Mercedes is trying to hang on to a very abusive relationship and she will end up dead or close to it. Unbeknownst to these ladies new men are coming their way. Kiyah meets Major and she is smitten with koi’s charming and straight up ways. Gip is Kiyah’s best friend and main guy. Major is the man and Duke is his right hand. Messy, messy, messy and the web gets sooo tangled!! Gip wants Kiyah soo bad but she will not settle down. Yanna is Gip’s cousin and she wants Kiyana and Gip together. Kiyah starts dating Major, Mercedes gets beat that last time and Duke catches her and turns her head and life around. Nisha is an old ex and now friend of Major who has skeletons in her closet and they’re coming....Gip loves his momma but she is going through the something and while he is running back and forth to California Kiyah is helping her. Another five 🌟 masterpiece. Twyla T and J Dominique did an outstanding job with this collaboration. Every thing about this book from the storyline to characters were on point. Maine is a bi*** nigga. He had no problem putting his hands on Mercedes but was a lil itch when Duke gave him the business so bad that he had to say he got jumped. I hated how he treated Mercedes and to put not only her out but his own child to....smh. I'm so scared for her I hope Duke find her before it's to late. Duke is my husband and Major is my boyfriend. Both of them are as real as they come. Major and Kiyah are good together. His family love her but her parents not feeling him at all and I hope it doesn't put a strain on their relationship. Nisha needs her ass whipped. How she gonna play games like that. If that was the case then she should have said that when he asked the first time. I wonder who was behind the shooting. I hope Major and Kiyah are OK. Raina needs to sit her thirsty self down somewhere. How you gonna claim a man that has already told you what it is. When Duke find out she set Mercedes up all hell gonna break loose. Waiting impatiently for part two.😍😘

This book was the bomb, I really enjoyed reading this one. Maine was a weak ass punk. Now he has gotten Mercedes and ain't no telling what he is going to do to her. And when Duke does get her back, I hope he get rid of that Raina and Stormi because they are trifling. Mercedes should have used her damn brain though, because she knew that Maine was still out there. I like how Duke catered to Mercedes and her son so I hope everything works out for them. Now Kiyah and Major, their good together too. I hate that her parents don't like him because you can tell he really loves her. Then there's this crazy girl Kinisha talking about a baby by Major. Its always something with these women that pop out of nowhere. I hope that the baby is not his though. Man this book had me speechless so many different ways in this book. I did not like how Maine was beating Mercedes up. I love how Duke and Major came in and swept Kiyah and Mercedes off their feet despite both of they past. Mercedes needed someone to save her n her son. I'm upset that Maine had came back n had to bamboozle some girls to get Mercedes in his life again on some grimey terms. So I can't wait for part 2 to let me know what happens next. Plus at the end Nisha(Major ex) calls n gives shocking news of saying the baby she been pregnant with the entire story is his..I can't wait to read part 2 to figure out what happened after she told the news then someone shot up his truck with Kiyah in the car then it flips..

Y’all came through with another banger but dang that cliffhanger though lol. For starters I can’t stand Maine and can’t wait until Duke and Major catch up with him. He is a straight clown and phuck boy. But huni Major and Duke stakes claimed to Kiyah and Mercedes and changed their lives. I’m happy Mercedes finally got out of that abusive relationship with Maine but she needs to let her guard down and know Duke is there to help her not hurt her. That boy Chris is crazy I knew something was up with him but he playing with fire messing with Kiyah because Major is crazy definitely won’t play about her. I need part 2 like yesterday because this story is good and juicy.

Yoooo this cliffhanger got me heated. How yall just gone end it like that? I am loving this whole storyline. I will say that the first chapter did something to me. I was wanting to beat Maine's a** myself. Duke and Major are both bae asf. That swag and boss demeanor had me lusting over them. Chris is a weird lil something. I knew something was up with him. Nisha a scandalous tramp and so is Raina. My heart really went out to Mercedes. Like her story is so real life you can't help but to go through the motions with her. I can't wait to see how they turn up in part 2.

Bangs from start to finish! These two ladies righting skills are so in sync that they’re bound to create a masterpiece each time! I love the characters and the way they tied in together! So here’s my thoughts Maine is a f boy sorry not sorry. Chris is a psycho and Kiyah is going to regret not telling Major about what she found. I don’t like her parents. They seem to forget she is a whole grow adult. I knew Nish couldn’t be trusted she was calling a little to much. That whole story sounded off I been called bs from the gate. Imma really need Mercedes to say that’s enough and boss up on Maine before it’s to late. Outstanding job

Maine is a true fukboy....I can't wait till he get his due ....the other characters are good support but the evil of Maine is what stayed with me .Joshua did exactly what her that Aziz was supposed to do get in to get rid of the Diamond ,She should have never answered any friend or toe of Joshua after posting Duke pic she knew old girl who as dysfunctionally delusional.....sad that baby had to watch all THAT....

Coming from the bottom to the top
The authors do a great job of creating characters to love and to hate with Maine being the most hated one. Major and Duke find the queen of their hearts in Kiyah and Mercedes respectively. This book deals with some issues that women go through while also showing them coming from the bottom to the top. Man, that ending is like whoa, so I'm definitely looking forward to reading what happens next.

This book deals with some issues that women go through while also showing them coming from the bottom to the top. Man, that ending is like whoa, so I'm definitely looking forward to reading what happens next.

Love this duo!!
OMG where do I start... that ending was crazy just in those last few pages. I can see Duke painting the city red for real. But Maine pissed me off in the "About this book" description so I knew he would be a problem. But the twist, turns and surprises got me like part 2 needs to out soon. I don't even know what I say but honestly it is a lot of dead people walking for sure!!!

NowI wasn't even expecting that ending at all. I started reading in the middle of the night and actually had to force myself to go back to sleep. Book was VERY good read. Dealing with the torment of domestic violence is always sorrowful but I enjoyed how the story is coming full circle now. Can't wait for the next installment after THAT ending fr

This was a great read! definately can't wait to see what happens in the next installment.
Bitter men and women seems to be the major problems in this book I can't wait for main,Nisha,Raina,stormie,chri,Petey to feel Zo's wrath once he get wind of this. Great job ladies.

Double trouble
The read was good and educational there are truly men like Maine walking around and women like Mercedes who feel they don't have a way out. I'm glad kiyah was a true friend to her and that both duke and major snatched them up. Salute to being Dad when he isn't biologically. I hate that it is to be continued. Hood colab

Yooooo I read this book in one sitting. It was sooo good. From the beginning I knew I would like Major with Kiyah and after reading about Duke, him and Mercedes were meant to be. He is what she needed. I cant stand punk ass Maine and cant wait to see what happens to him. That damn Kinish dropping that, well we will see. The ladies did a great job.

This page turner will keep you on the edge of your seat. The drama started and ended with a bang. I could not put it down. Although I think Mercedes wasn't moving very smart after leaving Maine it was still a very good read. I can't wait to see what happens with Major and Kiyah. Hurry up part 2. Great writing and a wonderful storyline.
