I don't think this is necessarily bad.

Just long winded and would had prefer it to be a few pages shorter for a day to day devotional.

THIS WAS PHENOMENAL!!!!

Cory truly took me on a 40 day journey into the heart or the Father... He gave relatable stories and scriptures and prayers that left me pondering about God's love. Even his testament of his journey through various points of his life, confirmed some things I knew and stretched me in areas of religion and perfection. He definitely pushed me into the arms of my dad.

I feel like I'm walking away with a deeper (a more concrete) understanding of God's love and the recklessness of that love. Not so much reckless as he is not intentional but in regard to caring for himself. He intentionally let it all go to pursue us with open arms. He doesn't scowl but he smiles and nods and looks at us with eyes of fire and love. There's passion that runs deep. Great stuff

Great book! Lots of good thoughts here, and quite easy to read. I liked that each chapter was pretty short, but still had a lot to say.

Asbury wrote the fabulous "Reckless Love" song that filled many a church's worship song lists for months in 2019/2020. It is a magnificent worship song praising God for His reckless love for us. In this book with the same title, he shares how he came about discovering this reckless love of the Father.

Through anecdote, stories from his youth and early adult life, we get to see a little into how Asbury drew closer to God and discovered the sheer recklessness of His love. It's a really good read: 40 devotionals all 3-4-5 pages in length which makes it meatier than the typical devotional, which I enjoyed. Each one started with a great quote and a story with some reflections using Biblical stories to support the evidence of His love. The reader is challenged to "Go Deeper" at the end of each devotional with one or two thought provoking questions, often a prayer (which were excellent) and a verse or two to meditate on during the day.

It's a really good devotional and culminates in an excellent chapter at the end encouraging us to wait upon the Lord and seek His face to see His smile.

Highly recommended.

Singer, songwriter, and worship leader Cory Asbury opens up about his life and his journey to discover the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God. He digs deep into God's Word to show the reader how much God loves him or her. It was hard to pace myself to only read one chapter a day for 40 days. (Some days I just had to read more!) One of the best devotionals I have read in 2021. Highly recommend.

This was one of the best devotionals I have read. It helps open our eyes to the reckless love and grace of our Heavenly Father. When we fully embrace His reckless love, it has the ability to change every aspect of our lives. He pours His love over us each day. Yet too often we miss it. Start looking around for His love today. And pick up this book while you’re at it! 😁

Hands down the best devotional I’ve ever read. Cory does a great job at continually putting the reckless love of God in new perspectives I’ve never thought of before. Highly recommend!

The first half was excellent, but I found myself disconnected from and at times disagreeing with the second half.

This book shows how Cory Asbury thinks of the love of God and it touched me. I would suggest that people read this book.
