I mean, I read this for school, so the notion of "having to read", rather than reading for my own personal enjoyment or passion is already ingrained. Definitely informative and useful in my upper level genetics course, but some parts were quite boring and went into too much detail (which was not always necessary).

Very good text that steps beyond the introductory texts on genetics. Includes detailed information about performing different genetic assays, and also gives practical advice about pitfalls inherent in these strategies. Would be good for an upper level genetics course or seminar series.
