So far so good. These Shattered World books deliver on the action and excitement. Jason and his surviving group of demon hunters recruit new members to travel to Russia to aid in closing down their portal. Along the way the are saved from a new type of demons by a group of Knights in shining armor. These knight are souls from purgatory sent by God and are lead by Fr. Belsario to help Jason close the portals around the world. Upon getting to Russia the demon hunters are attack but an army of demons and are saved by Russian military. The Russian military have taken up refuge in a railyard and inform Jason of the portal in Moscow being guarded by dragons. After disposing of the dragons and closing the portal Jason learns the Russian accidently opened a second portal in their failed attempt to closing the first one prior to Jason's appearance. Tasked with closing the second one the team set out on a train ride across russia's frozen tundra to battle endless hoards of demons and to close the second portal. I found this book exciting and difficult to put down. One of the hardest things to keep track of in this book was names of the character but the main characters are really starting to develop more. I really get the sense of Jason maturing from the first book to this one. Its a great read that can be knocked out in a couple of days.

Still surprised

Shattered World II: Russia is the second book in the Shattered World Series. While each book has ended with a satisfying closure to the current mission, it is definitely a continuity series that should be read in order.

I will admit, again, if not for a scavenger hunt-I would have never chosen to start this series. I'm still surprised by how much I have enjoyed it. I love the concept and have found the author's "take" on certain concepts quite intriguing.

I would definitely recommend this for anyone 16ish or older. I, surprisingly, am headed for book 3 right now.

A scary continue to a story of an Apocolypse. New demons, new characters, and more action. A few surprises to add to the story. A travel across Europe to end up along way from home. Saving the world is hard work, and can try one’s patience. Follow Jason and crew and see who lives and who dies. Action packed and really thought out. Now, on the way to China. Don’t miss any of it.

The second book does not disappoint! I like Scott's attention to detail. Honestly though, I haven't read a story set in Russia of this kind. This book was a real treat for me. I'm eagerly awaiting book 3. Come on Scott, I want book three.
