The war for the Gate rages on; one army of monsters against another. When a Tituban witch falls into Gabriel’s lap, Lucifer thinks she’s the siblings’ saving grace. But as her feelings for her new lover grow, Gabriel worries about Wendy’s safety…and their relationship status. Wyatt’s grief pushes him over the edge. Will he be able to pull himself together in time to join in the battle against the golem, or will his pain prove too great?

MIND. BLOWN. So, first, I thought Lilith's story was over at the end of book 1 in this series. I was dead wrong. This book plays out Lilith's plan nicely, wrapping up that arc brilliantly. It's genius. Second, the new characters are unbelievably great. Seeing Gabriel in a real relationship was wonderful and her girlfriend being so important to the overall story (and the series as a whole, I'm assuming) is masterful. The addition of a trans vampire had me cheering and their conversation with the Queen had me sobbing. As someone with a trans sibling, let me tell you, it was beautifully done. Bravo. Lastly, my favorite part of this book was the prologue. I know, I know. People have an aversion to prologues for some reason. But, just as with the first two books in this series, it's vitally important. This one shows us Gabriel's backstory and HOLY CRAP, it's a ride. You will not be sorry you read it. Elohim ties up loose ends, gives us a glimpse into Gabriel's psychology, and not only sets up the next book in the series, it makes you crave it. I can not wait to see where this all goes.
This gave me everything I wanted. It wrapped up the Lilith story line brilliantly, showed us Wyatt's *spoiler* process, and can we please talk about the new characters???? Holy s***! This book has EVERYTHING. F/F relationship, witches, crazy battles, and a trans vampire that I can already tell is going to be a major player in coming books in the series. As always with this author, the genius twist ending has me craving the next book. I'm in love.
I was so happy to learn more about Gabriel's history and how she became who she is. At the same time, we get introduced to some new characters and get to watch Allydia and Wyatt's relationship grow. It was also nice to watch Gabriel develop a romance of her own!
