This started out as a great novella. Opposites attract: she is an 18 year old daughter of a billionaire and he is a much older ex-con just released from jail. It was pretty hot especially their first interaction together but then it went a little off kilter and dark as this author is known to do at times….Let’s just say there is some exhibitionism (cringe). That kind of detoured me a bit but I still liked the fierceness in which the hero attached himself to the heroine.

If you are adventuresome then you may enjoy this one!

This was the last of the Rags to Riches series. I enjoyed it but not as much as some of the others All five of the books are quick, sexy and low angst reads. I highly recommend these stories if you are looking for a light read that has extra sizzle to it!!!

Well, I got another 3 months of KU for free (last time was .99) so I just went through and picked some books to read. Found this one because it was alongside some short Ruby Dixon stories and I like her books.

While this book was entertaining to read it was so OTT in some parts I just kept laughing out loud and rolling my eyes. I guess it is what you get with some of the KU authors. Below are some of my thoughts on this one.

My Rambling Thoughts I Think:

❇ Heroine who is 18 and a virgin meets ex-con hero and within 15 minutes of meeting are banging...on his mother's couch. The words coming out of the hero's mouth were eye roll and cringe worthy (forgot to highlight and I've already returned the book)

❇ Authors, please don't use the word "titties". It comes across as so juvenile. "tits" is fine.

“Or do you just walk around all day with those naked titties jiggling around?”


❇ Um, no. Just nope: Once at school, I overheard a classmate talking about a porno she found on her brother’s laptop wherein a man whipped a kneeling girl across the face with his erection. At the time, I found that terrible. Now? I would crawl over broken glass to have him whip me with that big thing. Put that in spoiler tags because, really? Is this a thing? Call me vanilla, I guess. LOL Cause, no. Just no. No desire to be whipped in the face by a c*ck.

❇ The not my kinda kink shelf? Voyeurism. Legit her dad walks in on them and they keep going and when he "rescues" her from the skeevy ass business partner of her dad's they DO IT RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM. IN. HIS. FOYER. It even is mentioned that she hits the guys thigh as she moves across the floor as he's banging her.


❇ Just so much wtfuckery in this book.

❇ The epilogue was cute with twin girls but man, just totally crazy book!!!!

“How old are you?” His big chest heaves and he jabs the air with a blunt finger. “Is that pussy legal?”

Ophelia is being blackmailed by her dad's business partner. She meets her housekeepers son and is immediately attracted to him so she gives him her virginity without him knowing who she really is- a 'spoiled rich girl' and the boss of his mother.

“I can’t believe you’ve been walking around without my protection so long. How the fuck did you keep that cherry?” I ask her through my teeth. “Doesn’t matter now, princess. I’ve got you fucked and bleeding all over this couch, don’t I? Mine now. All mine.”

She runs away shortly after they do the deed and Ezra is devastated. BUT! They meet again two days later at her house when he visits his mom at work. Ophelia is still hiding the fact that she's being blackmailed so she tries desperately to resist him... but it doesn't work so well lol.

“I’m your man, Ophelia,” Ezra rasps, taking his erection out in a tight fist and rubbing it on my bare stomach. “First, last. Only. Fucking mine."

Ezra eventually finds out about the blackmailing and he handles it oh so well. There's some exhibitionism/voyeurism in this novella that took me by surprise, but I loved it.

Before I know what’s happening, Ezra pins me down on my back and slams his cock into me, again, again, again, the top of my head coming within an inch of Wagner’s thigh with every thrust. “My tight, little fuck toy,” he bellows at Wagner. “Not yours. Not anyone’s. Mine.”

Y'all, I really enjoyed rereading this one! I loved this novella! I might just do a reread of all of JK's books. She's the queen of smutty novellas. There were some really funny parts too!

This one was steamy and hawt..

Ophelia has been feeling some pressure she's already been blackmailed by her fathers business partner to make her do stuff for him.. and she feels tiny bit lost. So when she meets Growly Rough Ezra who just got out of jail she had some butterflies floating around already feel a pull towards the alpha male. And they don't waste time but once the deed is done she runs. Knowing no ex-con would want a spoiled rich girl (even if she doesn't act like one) she didn't think Ezra would see her again.. and boy being fucked and your father walks in.. QND HE DOESN'T STOP!! OMG HE HAS SOME BALLS!! He didnt do this one time on no he did this twice.. even took his girl infront of the creepy business partner who tried to blackmail her.. like dang it was hawt..

No ow drama slight om drama (creepy pig), dramaish, slight secondary charas, sexy times, virgin gal and celebite guy (he was locked up)

This was my favourite of the series, Jessa Kane totally stole the show with the addition to the series.

Ophelia is the daughter of a rich man but it sick of the way the world views her, but all that changes when she rushes to help her housekeeper who has left her medication at home. She meets her son Ezra, he rough and dark but she wants him in a way that scares her and she has never felt before. But how can they be together she knows her father will never accept him but can she really turn her back on such a man?

Ezra cannot believe his eyes when Ophelia walks into his mother’s apartment, instantly he knows that she is his to claim but she vanishes as quickly as she appeared not that will stop Ezra from finding her and when he does he wastes no time on showing her and everyone else how much she belongs to him. As of now she has been claimed, all he has to do is show her father how much she means to him. Will Ezra finally get the girl of his dreams and the life that should have been his?

I have loved each one of these short stories but this one very nearly melted my kindle it was seriously hot. Excellent smutty read.

"Pretty Daring" is the story of Ophelia and Ezra.

Another smutty read, this time with a hero who's fresh out of jail and falls "into" his mother's employer's teenage daughter, when she lies about her age and identity. Filled with kinky fuckery and dirty talk, this one has a lot of sneaking around, drama and HEA.

I'd have rated it higher but I really do not find the idea of ex-convict heroes sexy.

Yes 🙌🏽 I am reading this again lol!! This is an oldie but a goodie that I read in 2019 for the first time and now I’m on my second reread. Our main characters burn for each other. They literally set each other’s bodies on fire 🔥. Ladies have you ever considered giving yourself to a big burly son of a gun whose name you don’t even know ? Don’t answer that I got you 😉. The answer is Hell Yeah 😎 !! He is sexy and big and scared and his masculinity was so intoxicating that Ophelia literally handed him her drawers.

Let’s cut to the chase Ophelia was the sweetest most down to earth character I’ve read. She’s lovely and she meets Ezra in a chance encounter at his mom’s house. After that they are inseparable especially in their minds. The desire to be together is strong but they are from different sides of the track. Ophelia our H is well off and Ezra the Ex con can never work !! Atleast that’s what her family thinks but love has a way of conquering all.

This is a reread for me but I do that with Jessa Kane quite often. This book has a bad boy ex con who you just can’t help falling for.

Mí humilde opinión:

Ophelia es la típica hija de un rico, nunca le faltó nada pero siente que debe hacer algo por su propio mérito.

Cuando conoce a Ezra no le dice que su madre es su ama de llaves, no quiere que piense que es una niña rica consentida como todos siempre piensan cuando la conocen, lejos de eso.

Ella quiere que él la mire como una mujer y no esperaba que él haga más que eso.

Ezra ve entrar a Ophelia por la puerta y sabe que es su alma gemela. Ella lo enciende como nunca nadie lo hizo y sabe que no son sus Siete años tras las rejas sin una mujer. No. Ophelia enciende sus instintos de protección porque ella es suya y no parara hasta reclamarla.


Nunca leí nada de esta autora y este libro fue algo que no acostumbro a leer.

El tipo macho obsesivo loco Ezra no es de los protagonistas que me gustan mucho.

Ezra me pareció por un lado demasiado intenso y por otro lado sí me gustó su lado protector.

Ophelia me pareció muy tonta, la verdad sus acciones fueron de niña pequeña, no me convenció lo de inocente-yo-ni-se-nada porque pasaba de eso a desatada por el sexo en un instante.

Y si voy a justamente a las escenas eróticas... Que los estén observando mientras están en eso primero su padre y luego otro tipo, y no les importe? enserio?



Eso tampoco va mucho conmigo.

Este libro no me convenció para nada, no es mí estilo en cuanto a lo erótico, no leo muchos sobre el género pero me gusta escrito de una manera un poco más romántica.

Este extremo salvaje a este nivel ya era demasiado para mí.

Awful. Not only OTT situations and insta-love, but chock full of typos and impossible situations. For example, at one point he hears her pussy dripping on the floor. (Is she a water faucet?!) Another example is Ezra (possibly the worst name for a hero ever) coming inside her, while liquid shoots across the floor in every direction. (No, seriously. Is she part fire hydrant?)

Don't know why this "author" was invited/allowed to join the core group of Ruby Dixon, Ella Goode, Alexa Riley, and Kati Wilde, but I hope she's not allowed back ever again.

Yes, it's a fast read. But this crap is all telling and no showing; no depth of emotion to any of the characters. Even the sexual parts are lacking, vulgar language and hitting certain smut standards, but I can't take a sex scene seriously when she refers to him sliding his hands under her skirt and grabbing her buns. (Is she Mayor McCheese?)

Hot mess. Avoid at all costs.

Ezra has been away for seven years. Seven years without a woman, so to say he's on the edge is an understatement. When Ophelia walks into his mothers apartment all that changes.

One glance at this princess and he's like a dog on heat.

When Ophelia spots Ezra sitting there she's startled but she's also instantly attracted to this giant of a man. One thought she has is she's about to punch the V card.

It's over the top full of goodness, a sweet storyline and an over the top caveman.

Warning a cold shower or something wet to cool you down.

Ophelia siempre ha sido vista como la niña rica rebelde. Nunca ha tenido amigos y todo le ha sido dado por ser quién es. Así que cuando conoce al hijo de su ama de llaves y él parece desearla sin conocerla ella se lanza de cabeza. Sólo que Ezra la quiere, para siempre, pero Ophelia esconde secretos que no quiere que nadie descubra.

La historia estuvo bien. Es un poco absurda sobre todo cuando se conocen y eso pero por lo demás no tiene queja. Es una historia corta con un poco de drama pero no mucho, y sobre todo un final feliz con una mansión de 15 habitaciones y muchos hijos 🤣🤣🤣🤣 lo mejor para pasar el rato !

So dirty! So hot!! Exhibitionism is so not my thing, but it was hot as heck to read how *nothing* could stand in the way of Ezra and Ophelia getting at each other - not even her father. Lordy, it was so hot, so wrong, and the over the top scenes made me laugh, but I dug it, too.
This author is always so extra, and I can’t help but giggle and enjoy every word.

Favorite Jess's Kane book!

Ophelia and Ezra are by far my most favorite Jess's Kane couple ever. I love the hot scene in the very beginning and how possessive he immediately is without even knowing her name. It's like soul meets soul. Short and oh so very hot!

This was a solid 4 stars for me, until the scene with Wagner. It was just unnecessary and too ridiculous. Yes, I know everything about JK books is utterly ridiculous, but when you get to that scene you will understand.

It's not often you get a JK book without daddy kink in it. I mean he does call himself her daddy once, and calls her little girl but there is no role play.

Minus the Wagner scene, that I'm going to forget about and pretend didn't happen, this was one of my favorites of JK.

I marathoned Jessa Kane novels for a week and this was the last one that I read - my meh feelings about it could have just been that I was burnt out, but I was getting a little over the overly possessive hero intent of impregnating the heroine to prove that she is his. Also, as I always say, you have to suspend your disbelief anytime you read a Jessa Kane novel, and I was having some trouble doing it this time around. Also, the heroine was a little too in-your-face martyr-y for me. The upside: the hero looks like Thor, so there's that.
