Truman keeps to himself, only letting his family close. His time in the military left marks on him emotionally and mentally and he's still struggling with not only being a civilian, but also the long-term effects of things he witnessed.
Ivy is working her dream job at Cox Enterprises as a graphic designer. She's sweet, shy, and completely in love with a man that seems to barely acknowledge she exists.
Oh, he knows she does, and he wants more than anything to claim her, but he believes he's too broken for someone like her. Fate, thankfully, disagrees and ensures their paths cross, forcing them to talk.
Ivy is sure they've taken a step toward something, but Truman's doubts resurface.
Can Truman let go of his past and accept the future he wants with Ivy? Will Ivy realize he's not fighting her, but himself? Is a HEA possible?

Good
This was a pretty enjoyable story. I would say that the blurb was a little off. I was expecting Ivy to be the pursuer of the relationship but it was Truman who did all the instigating. He started everything thing in the elevator and he finished everything in the supply closet, lol. Both characters were enjoyable and sweet.

Completely safe. No om/ow drama. No real drama at all except the drama the two create inside their heads about not being good enough for one another. H has been celibate for years and h is a virgin. No abuse.

The story's about Truman and Ivy.
He's Theo's (book 1 H) cousin and she's Ava's (book 1 h) friend.
He's not the alpha H who just goes after the woman he wants but I still enjoyed it.
It has nice epilogues.

I cup her face, tilting it upward and push my forehand down on hers, trying to convince my breath and heart to cooperate so I can tell her what’s going on with me before she really starts to think I’m some kind of psycho. I swallow hard, feeling like I have a lump of sand in my throat as my chest rises and falls fast. “I’m so sorry, baby. I love you too, please don’t cry anymore.”

Great story line and characters, Awesome !! Loved this book. The storyline was so interesting that it had me turning pages in anticipation of where it would lead . I was very intrigued with the characters in the story. Simply awesome . Definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a great read. I would recommend to others. Worth the read and the money!

Super quick super sweet..
Truman has to be at the bottom of cox i like.. (nejsjsjs lol) he waited 8 months to even talk to his girl now i understand why he is suffering from PTSD and nightmares so he doesn't want that for her.. so he acts coldish and standoffish or just ignores her.. :/
Until they are trapped in a elevator and feelings come out..panic attacks and unexpected kisses..until they are saved thats when Ivy felt bad since she thought she forced him to kiss her which was untrue.. so she runs away feeling bad that she did that.. when she goes to apologize he is cold towards her.. :(
Lots of push/pull between them i swear.. until he says fk it and takes her.

I love a tortured hero who is staying away from the woman of his dreams to protect her! When done correctly, the feels that come out of that emotional sacrifice are off the charts. Ember Flint nailed it! Truman has PTSD from his time in the military. He has managed it with therapy and techniques that help him cope. What really helped him was meeting Ivy. She is a copper-haired graphic designer and he loves her too much to bring her into his life and risk her getting hurt. So he keeps his distance. Little does he know that Ivy has crushed on him from the moment they met. She loves him but is too shy to make a move. Luckily the universe steps in! This was such a freaking adorable and hot read, I just wanted more time with these two. This was the perfect way to spend a holiday, relaxing with this sweet and sexy, safe romance that deserves 5 stars!

This was short and yummy. And I loved how vulnerable Truman was, struggling with ptsd and trying to keep his distance from the girl he loves. It was heartwarming and tender, and then mixed with his growliness and protectiveness just made my heart swoon!

This was a great novella by Ember Flint,,,,
Truman Cox was a Marine but now he is in the family business ,,,, Cox Enterprises is a business which was started and is still running by the Cox family,,,, Truman has a brother who is a year older then he is named Quincy whom is Head of Marketing,,, and also a younger sister named Ashleigh who is in the Mailroom,,,, Their parents died in a jet crash,,,, Truman, Quincy and Ashleigh were on vacation with their Uncle John, whom is the CEO of the company and his family,,, they were with them while mom and dad went on their 2nd honeymoon with a break from the kids and after the crash, they lived with their Uncle and his family ,,,, Truman is Head of Security and takes his job VERY seriously,,,, and he doesn't really do much besides work, except stare at one of the graphic designers from Cox Enterprises and her name is Ivy Cooper ,,,, all of the family knows about his "love" for Ivy,,, his cousin Theodore, who is his best friend and the CFO @ Cox Ent,,,, they all tell him to go talk to her each time they see him,,, but he's afraid she will turn him down,,,, and then he has already decided that with his PTSD that everybody is best if they stay away from him,,,, his PTSD episodes are his to deal with,,,, but he's been under therapy and has one thing that calms him down,,,, thinking of Ivy Cooper ,,,,

Red, White & Hers -A Falling on the Fourth Novella by Ember Flint is a fun and short read.
Truman is a 33 year old, ex-Marine who suffers from PTSD after serving overseas. He now is the head of security at his family owned and run tech company. He believes that he cannot have who he wants, Ivy, because he does not trust himself not to hurt her.
Ivy is a 22 year old graphic designer that has worked at Truman's company for the past 8 months. She is a petite, curvy, book-wormy and quiet young woman who moved away from her family to work at the head office and take this job. She is also going to school to finish her degree and she has a plan.
As soon as Truman laid his eyes on Ivy he was in love and she was his. But he could not claim her like he really wanted to. Instead he looked out for her and protected her from anyone that tried to touch her. He was also stalkerish as he would stare at her from a distance when she would take a break from work. She brought a calmness to his soul in a way that no other treatments had done for his PTSD.
At the same time Ivy was more than interested in Truman. He was big, tough, protective and she wanted to climb him. But she realized that nothing could ever happen as he was an owner of the company.
What Truman and Ivy don't know is that the fates have their own way of working. So one late night, a shared elevator ride, a power outage that traps them together, Truman looking after Ivy and you have some early fireworks on the eve of July 4th.
The story was fun and flirty with interesting characters that did pop, along with the fireworks. I liked the way that Truman protected Ivy from all harm while still keeping his distance thinking he could not trust himself. Ivy was fun as you could just picture her and the way she interacted with Truman. It was great to read that Ivy was the one that did the "approaching" after the elevator incident. It was a nice change from reading the typical "Alpha claiming her and she is not getting away from him" scene.

Red, white & hers is book two in the falling on the fourth series. This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. Red, white & hers is the first book of Ember Flint’s that I have read but it won’t be the last. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable.
Truman Cox has been in love with Ivy Cooper for eight months. As a retired Marine, he suffers with really bad PTSD that he has been having therapy for. Although his PTSD is under control, Truman refuses to make a move on Ivy. He doesn’t trust himself not to hurt her. Ivy Cooper is a twenty two year old graphic designer at Cox enterprises. She been in love with Truman for eight months but doesn’t think he is attracted to her. When Truman and Ivy find themselves alone for a short while with no way out, feelings start to show. Will Truman give in and go after the woman he loves?

I really enjoyed reading this book. It was a really good story between a military man and a coworker. Truman has served his time as a soldier and has returned home. But he came home physically in one piece.but.he also has PTSD. He is working at the family business but has his good and bad days. Ivy is a graphic designer at the same company. These two crossed paths almost a year ago but neither one has approached the other. There has been alot of stole looks. One night both Ivy and Truman are working late, they catch the same elevator down. The power goes out and Ivy and Truman are.stuck for a little.while. The best distraction is attraction and these two are rescued at the right moment? Thus was a really good story and introduced alot of secondary people, I hope that means more books!

Truman is head of security for his family company. He has been suffering from PTSD since coming home from the war. When he sees Ivy it's love at first sight but doesn't say anything because he doesn't want to drag her into his nightmares even though he's learning to control his symtoms. Ivy falls in love with Truman at first sight also but is too shy to say anything because he's one of the company that she works for owners. Then he finds out she is suffering from PTSD also from a traumatic event from her childhood. This story has a HEA. LOVED THE HEAT.

Red, white & hers was a wonderful read. I loved the fact that Truman was so in love with Ivy and how much he protected and looked after her since he met her. Ivy has been in love with Truman, but she doesn't think he even likes her. When these two her trapped in an elevator, they are both unable to fight what they feel for one another anymore. However, when they are safe, she runs from Truman, and he realizes that he can no longer hide his feeling for Ivy and he decides to go after her and show her what he feels for her. Sweet and safe amazing read this is definitely one of my favorite reads from this author. Can't wait for whatever she writes next.

Truman is a ex Marine with PTSD and thinks he has to keep his distance from Ivy who works for his families company Cox Enterprises. Ivy is in love with Truman but all he will do is stare at her until one night they get stuck in the company elevator and they kiss only the next day he pushes her away and she gets upset and cry’s. Truman feels like a jerk and goes to her and tells her he loves her too but can he work through his PTSD and not run Ivy off.

This is a quick short swoon worthy read that will have you steaming up your glasses just like Ivy

An entertaining, well written novel. It has you hooked right from the beginning and keeps you there till the end. The story flows fast but great, the story is full of emotions, steamy chemistry, enjoyable characters, passion and heartache. I just wished it was a bit longer to get more into the characters and their background. Overall a great read just before bed. I look forward to the next book in this series.

Flirty & Dirty, Quick & Swoon Worthy. Truman is an ex marine fighting his demons and is madly, head over heals in love with Ivy but doesn’t believe he’s worthy enough. He.is.adorable. Ivy is sweetness personified and when Truman enters the room ‘her glasses steam up sauna-effect’ (my favorite line from the book). She.is.so.in.trouble. I LOVE this book and suggest you read it asap!!
