I was born in Bonavista, NL, Canada and graduated with a Master of Science (Physics, 1982) from Memorial University. I worked for Environment Canada for 32 years, initially as a meteorologist and then in various capacities within the Meteorological Service of Canada. I'm married to Joan (Pearson). We have two grown children and a grandson. I've been retired since 2016. I became interested in Bonavista's history when I was in my 20's. I've found that there is so much "primary source" information available (petitions, letters, diaries, census, reports, etc.) that hasn't really found its way into the public domain. My book, "Bonavista", is a comprehensive story on the town and the important role it has played, and continues to play, in the region.
