She wasn’t supposed to fall in love.
In fact, the love between them was so unconventional, Isis Moore hadn’t prepared herself for it at all. She never wanted to get married and was terrified of giving her heart away. Shunning the idea of settling down by her thirtieth birthday, Isis gives up on her pursuit.
That’s until she meets handsome, multi-talented design artist Ramelo King. He came into her life on a pedestal, literally. He was determined to change her flawed view on love and make her his… for good. But at what cost? In his mind, loving her was worth the heartache, but for how long?

This book was amazing. Ramelo’s and Isis’ love story was penned with so much ravishment. Their connection was beautiful. The character development was excellent. The sex scenes. Smoking, baby! Isis’ pessimism truly tugged at my heart. Ramelo was any and everything a woman could ask for: his charm, his aura, the way he came into a room. He was such a cool guy. The cameo with my girl Layla. Chile, had me feeling like I was present during her set! Excellent job, BriAnn. A great love story without the drama is always needed. I love a quick read with a powerful punch and this is it.
Everyone deserves unconditional love, Isis self-sabotaging her happiness due to childhood trauma was so relatable. The way Ramelo forced his way into her world and heart was beautiful. No matter the way she spoke to him he stood 10 toes down about her. To think this all started because of a paint and sip 😉
I’m so happy this author finally gave these two a full novel!! Isis and Ramelo story picked up right where they left off and what a story to tell. My smile never left my face while reading thanks to King Ramelo! Ramelo is all man and have BDE and kept a gal blushing lol but I’m happy Isis faced her past and believed in Ramelo. I’m so in love with this book I wish I could give it more. Highly recommend
Man you gotta be careful reading a BriAnn book, they will turn you into a character hoe😫. Ramelo, Ramelo, Ramelo Did my heart love till now? Forswear it, sight! For I ne'er saw true beauty till this night my Ramelo. Wherefore art thou my Ramelo?😂 Baby when a man can sex the soul outta you that have your eyes leaking! Whew chileeeee... When he quite all doubts, strengthen all your fears, turn your insecurities to secure AF, that's Ramelo! One that makes your panties wet from the lick of his lips, his gentle touch on your cheek, his eyes barring into your soul, that's Ramelo! Just his presence makes your heart race. His essence takes over every limb of your body...That's it! Review over! Let me go get with my Ramelo. 5*
I have mixed feelings on how everything transpired. Isis literally worked every nerve I had with these excuses on her choosing to be bitter, lonely and having a horrible attitude. Ramelo was completely transparent from the beginning and didn’t deserve her back and forth mess. He was so patient and caring and deserved to be treated much better. Isis had everyone telling her to grow up and let go of her parents failures and turn it into motivation to be better and she chose the latter. But I’m glad that Ramelo really loved her enough through her flaws and wanted her to see the amazing side of love and companionship!!
BriAnn Danae, girl you outdo yourself with every book. This book was so damn amazing. As I'm reading your books, the pages seem to come alive. I could just picture Melo at the sip and stroke. Who would've thought ISIS would end up with that fine specimen of a man. This story touched my heart so much. It reminds me of how we struggle from things our parents put us in the middle of. Kudos to you Queen!!! You have done it again. Eagerly waiting on your next book. Once again, thank you for blessing us with your God given talent.
I had put off reading this book for too long. Saw a post in which BriAnn listed this book as the book that best describes her as an author or favorite book (something song those lines). I then had to read it because I love her. This book was so endearing. It made me fall in love with the idea of falling in love. We all have baggage that prevents us from moving in a forward direction in life. Are we working on those things to move forward or do we remain stagnant? Isis was stagnant for so long but Ramelo...smh. That man! Motivation in the best form!

Awww man let me say that at the beginning Isis got on my nerves lol she was such a crybaby that it got on my nerves but the love from Ramelo had me cheesing like he was my man that man was so patience with her and I loved everything about them I love her sister Myesha to and granny them was my girls lol that Leah chick made me side eye her but over all I lived this book we need a part two or something
I loves that there relationship wasn't quite as conventional as we are used too but I could definitely feel the love they had for each other. This dedication flowed really well and I loved the meaning. Even though you seen one thing growing up it does not have to be your reality. Living in your own truth and path shows how strong you really are. The way he loved her thru her pain was definitely my favorite, he didn't give up on her!!
I really enjoyed reading this book. Very well written and the character development was great. Isis was definitely a tough cookie afraid of love. Meeting Romelo was the icing on the cake for her. He was able to get her to let her guard down and give true love a chance. I'm glad she was able to speak with her father to finally get the truth about her parents relationship as well as develop a better relationship with her mother. Great ending with new memories.
Loved how the book met with the character thru unique body art. Isis was scared to be in love because of her parents situation she thought she knew everything about. Her mom did a number on her for a long time. I just romelo for her he claimed from the moment he saw her and it was so cute how he made her nervous everytime he was close to her. He changed her for the better and the story blossomed into a great one.
I loved this story!! This was the full story to one of the shorts in the other book. The short was good. This story was great! I need more from these characters!!!
i alway say the ending of a book makes or breaks it. and boy was this ending beautiful!!! Isis and Ramelo met in an unorthodox albeit sexy way. then fate brought them together again where they developed a friendship turned relationship. i loved seeing them grow together, especially Isis. she over came her fear of commitment and allowed Ramelo to love her fully. i wish this book was longer honestly😩😭
Why did I cry multiple times while reading this?! I related so much to Isis. Her idea of love and marriage from the things she’d seen growing up hit home for me. You don’t realize sometimes how things impact us later in life until you’re in a position to face certain things. I’m glad she finally decided to let go of the hurt and get closure on things because baby the way Ramelo was coming for her!! BDE!!! He might be a new book bae lol
Ramelo was an amzing man. He knew what he wanted and went for it. I loved how he loved on Isis. He was able to break down her walls and showed her she was deserving of love. I understand why Isis felt the she did and I was glad when she talked to her father. Another must read!
This book was such an amazing journey! The growth in BriAnn’s story telling from her first book to now is amazing. Isis was so shackled by the issues of others and Ramelo was there to set her free. I loved the realism of their journey and didn’t want the story to end. I definitely need more of them and Kenia and Myesha. Definitely series material.
Sigh, at this point, I’m just praying that I find my Ramelo😩💕! He was just SO amazing! I loved the chemistry and storyline between Isis and Ramelo. Even though Isis was getting on my nerves at time😤, I understand why she had her fears and doubts. Overall, I’m glad that the story ended well.
You know it's a banging plot, when the drama is internal. Not a lingering boyfriend, or a wondering eye. Just a character without faith or belief in unconditional love. Isis and Ramelo so sweet, so passionate. Just falling in love in spite of. I enjoyed the journey and was waiting on the HEA. This is a good read.
Reading this story makes you realize as parents how you interact with each other can serious affect your kids potential relationships. Isis was so messed up by the toxic relationship her parents had that she couldn’t believe Ramelo really loved her. Glad she finally talked to her dad to help heal the hurt she was dealing with.
Who knew that a chance meeting would be the love of you life. I love everything about this love story, its one that leaves a big smile on your face at the end and warms your entire heart. Read about Isis and Ramelo and fall in love with love
Love Is What You Make It ( What The Heart Wants Book 2)
This was a extraordinary love story where she didn’t really know what love was but he helped her find it not only that but made her fairytale come true.
Once again Briann did it with this page turner! I loved the story fro beginning to end. The characters connected so well together from the start. I will definitely recommend this book. Great job Bri
Aww this was such a lovely story, I tell ya love is everything. This is an awesome story about letting go of our fears and long standing issues and allowing ourselves to love
Wow one night out heading to a paint class and look she meet her husband which she didn’t see coming her way. The chemistry in between both person eyes wow was everything love it
Beautiful story line and overall a beautiful love story. What a great read. It’s crazy how what we are exposed to when we grow up will make us who we are as adults. It was good to see her get the love she deserved in the end.
I love how this book shows the journey of loving someone through their misconceptions! It shows that it’s not always the man. This book was very well written and keeps your attention!
I an such a sucker for a love story. I relate so much to Isis because I love to see other people fall in love but always shy away from it for myself. I’m glad she found true love in Ramelo. He was so her knight in shining armor. Very good read.
This was a sweet romance that made you wanna turn the pages to see what would happen. The way BriAnn made them fall in love was so sweet and enduring. Almost like a fairytale. I really enjoyed this story.
