Stranded With The Alien

Rate this book

Autumn...

Earth is a mess, wrecked by the excesses of the generations that came before me, but we've been given a second chance...

New Earth!

Our new home, whether you want it or not. Every newborn is assigned a number and when you reach it, you're going to be shoved into a tiny "pod" and launched into space. Great, if you don't mind being ripped away from everything you've ever known, including friends and family!

Which I do, but what choice am I given? None, is the answer. So I'm "lucky". I get to wait until I'm eighteen to go. Except when I do, something goes wrong. So damn wrong!

My pod doesn't make it to New Earth, not even close. I end up on an alien planet, in the hands of a warlike race, that doesn't like humans. It only gets worse, and as I'm sure I'm about to be killed, he rescues me!

Blue skin, strong shoulders, long black hair and huge black eyes that go on and on. He's alien and I hate to admit it but sexy as hell.... I'm in for something, the only question is what?

Olven...

Humans are the cockroaches of the universe. Spreading everywhere with no concern for those they displace, no respect, and an attitude of being the only intelligent creatures in existence. Arrogant, full of themselves, an infestation that the galaxy is better off without!

Or so I always thought, until I met her...

Autumn is beautiful. Beautiful in a take my breath away kind of way. She's nothing like I've been taught to believe humans are. She isn't full of herself or arrogant. She's kind and sweet and she's working her way into my heart in a way that I'm totally unprepared to handle...

She's bringing change, ready or not, and I don't think my people are ready for her any more than I am. One way or another, I'm going to make her mine!

I liked Autumn in this book, but I had mixed feelings about Olven. Autumn is sweet, and tries really hard to adapt to being stranded on an alien planet. Olven is really unlikable at first, with his hatred of humans. He has reason for that hatred, but assuming that all humans are as bad as the ones who killed his mother was just too much. He does realize eventually that Autumn is different, but I still had trouble believing that he truly loved her. It actually seemed like they were both in lust, but I didn't feel a true love connection.

Overall, I really thought that the Khidraxians were pretty unlikable. They were very class-oriented, and very prejudiced against other worlds and their culture. They were also very warlike, and so very violent. Some of them were better than others, but it was hard to like their race as a whole.

***** Minor Spoilers Follow *****

One plot point I really didn't buy was how quickly Olven's brother Alex got over the murder of his human stepfather. He did blame Olven at first (though Olven was innocent), but seemed to get over it almost immediately. He didn't really even seem to grieve very much, which was pretty unbelievable. I also thought it was really strange that Autumn gives birth to a toddler, not an infant -- that was ridiculous, because it was basically impossible and probably would have killed Autumn.

My rating system is below.
1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it.
2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws.
3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating.
4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one.
5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.

This book was so good that I wanted to read it to the end but work got in the way. Autumn was assigned a number at birth as was all children on old earth and when you reach that number you are sent to new earth in a pod to start a new life, autumn’s number was 21 so on her 21st birthday she is sent away from all her family and friends except for her best friend Samantha her number came up as well. Now it’s time to leave and Autumn is worried she is going to die on the way but Samantha tells her not worry. On there way Autumn’s pod doesn’t make it and ends up on planet Khidrax where she is saved by a handsomes blue man that turns out to be a prince but the king hates humans and will hurt her if she stays with his father so Prince Olven asks his father for her to be in his harem and he agrees but Olven isn’t interested in her he just didn’t want her hurt. But things change over time and they give into the feelings they have for each other and have a wild few nights together and soon she falls pregnant with the first heir but his father is not happy and try’s to kill his son and when that fails he goes after the man that always felt more like his father ever was. After a huge fight with his father over the killings of the humans that came to save Autumn except for Samantha that came to take Autumn home he gives up the throne to be with her Autumn and his child and they flee Khidrax and head to new earth. What happens to them all and how does the pregnancy go. Read this great book to find out more.

It can be hard to tell Fate is smiling on you...

There are times when it feels like everything is going wrong - Autumn’s attempt to travel by pod from old Earth to New Earth involves a crash, and serious injuries... it doesn’t seem like an auspicious event. But weeks later? When she and her rescuer Olven have actually gotten to know and understand one another? With hindsight, horrible days can seem... fortuitous.

This Kindle Unlimited quick read was longer than I realized going in. It was packed with action, had some interesting characters, and kept me turning the pages. It is a self contained, done in one story that is part of an interesting enough Universe that more stories could take place on any of three worlds.

Let me start off by saying the idea for this book is a good one. But the story itself was somewhat of a fail. It was horribly fast pace and all over the place. Some things just didnt make sense. If this book had just focused on her crash landing and their time together on his planet, learning each other...then falling in love and then the prince denying the throne and left off on a cliff hanger of their escape. That would have been good. But the author tried to put 2 books worth of ideas into less than 200 pages. And let's face it, insta love is very annoying. The woman birthing a toddler was somewhat disturbing as well

An exciting book with a strong dystopian vibe, this is an excellent story with characters that are likable and easy to relate to. I didn't like the Prince for the first few chapters, but he grows on you. Lots of action and intrigue and the King is portrayed as vile and unconnected. I wasn't sure I'd end up liking any of the aliens, but the book grew and eventually, they grew on me too. Autumn is a combination of naive and strong-willed and her situation is easy to get pulled into It tended to drag in spots but overall, I enjoyed

I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest!
This was a great book !
Autumn is shoved into a pod to be shipped to the "New Earth"
Instead, she end up stranded on an alien planet.
Olven doesn't care to much about humans in general.
The cockroaches of the universe.
( Can I just say: Ouch! )
But once he sees Autumn, all bets are off.
Loved the characters + the storytelling !
It has all the ingredients that you need for a great book!

Another wonderful story by Juno. With the earth dying whether you want to or not you have to go to new earth. At her age it is time to go. But there is no guarantee when they shoot you into space that you are going to get there. Well she doesn't and ends up on a planet that has a problems with humans. But she meets a hot and sexy alien that doesn't hate them as much after she comes along. It is a really fun read. I received a review copy and voluntarily review it.

I enjoyed the story. She really is put into a touch situation and tries to make the best of it. I liked that she was not a victim but stayed strong. He changes as the story goes on and makes some difficult choices that make him someone you can understand her growing to love. I really liked the ending.

I am voluntarily reviewing a copy I received.

I liked the story overall though some parts just seemed forced and unnecessary. The characters were likable and had great chemistry so I definitely think it's worth the read. Enjoy.

***I decided to review an ARC of this book.***

More?

The story of Olven and Autumn is awesome! Now they have a family with Angel, Samantha, Alex and Olded. It feels like just the beginning of a new series.
