It’s all fun and games to them--especially when someone gets hurt. One god of mischief and mayhem. One god of fur and fang. And the god of death himself. They’ve all been out to get me since the school year began, but this semester, the Rabbit’s got some tricks up her sleeve. It’s time to take these three vicious gods down a peg, or ten, and there’s no better route to revenge than directly through the heart. I just have to make sure I don’t get caught up in the twisted game myself.
This is the second book in the Academy of the Gods series, a Paranormal Bully Academy Romance. Slow burn, all characters are 18+.
I downloaded the book via KU on the day it got released and I only got to it today. Such a shame, because I loved the book.
If you have been following my reviews, you know I do not really do second books and if I do, it usually doesn't end well.
But Wild Hunt was perfect. It was as fun and entertaining as the first book, Kore was still damn badass although quite hormonal and we got to see more of Hades, Loki, Fenrir and even Dyonisus. And I cannot wait to read the next one!
This isn't the best book out there by any stretch of the imagination, but it still gets a whopping 4 stars from your resident bitchy reviewer because it's really bloody funny.
The banter between Kore and the Triad made me smile constantly, and on one occasion I even broke out into laughter. For that alone, I'm totally willing to forgive the fact that I'm not a fan of M/M relationships in my reverse harem books (not that there is one yet, but I think there will be in the future). Also, even though there's male POV which I usually loathe, Ramsey ensures that they're the two things any male POV should be to be successful: a) short and b) distinct from the heroine's POV. So there's another win.
The relationship is progressing slightly unevenly, in that Hades is still getting the lion's share of the attention, Fenrir is still a bit too mysterious, and I can take or leave Loki, but I'm keen for the sequels.
Kore is still the target of Hades, Loki, Fenrir and the rest of Olympus Academy in book 2 in this series. In their attempts to break her their plots become more sneaky, underhand and vicious but its all just a game of wills to them. Especially to Hades who will use anyone and anything to get his own way. I just love the power play with Kore, Hades, Loki and Fenrir, Their banter and sniping keeps the book bubbling along as well as the sexual tension between them all. A joy to read
This was an incredible continuation to the Dark Gods series! Kore is still the school’s rabbit and refuses to go down without a fight, but a second rabbit has joined her which has never happened before in Olympus Academy history. This book takes place leading up to The Olympic Games and the actual games themself while Kore and Dionysus plot their long term revenge on the Triad and the school. There are still many heated confrontations between Hades, Kore, Loki, and Fenrir and the Triad’s united front starts to waiver because of her. I loved that Kore and Dionysus’ relationship grew, but I’m still holding out hope for more. The unexpected turn of events in the games leads Kore and the Triad into the unknown along with a dreadful fact of her life finally being confirmed. *I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review
Great follow up to book 1. Loved seeing the relationship between Kore and the others develop - if one can call it that. Definitely left On a cliff hanger - can’t wait for the next book!
2.8 rounded up. (10/8/21 update rounded down because I finished the next book and it was horrible)
*sigh* this book is a bit of a let down. I kept hoping the romance would pick up but it just doesn’t. It’s not fair to even say it’s back burner, it’s nearly an afterthought.
Which would 100% be fine if the plot was strong enough to carry it alone but it is absolutely rife with plot holes and rabbit trails that end in dead ends.
There is NO WAY this book is going to feel complete at the end of the next book which is around 160ish pages. Just no way that can happen with this authors writing style. I’m still enjoying the ride but foresee a pretty dissatisfying ending coming up and neither the romantic journey or the main story is going to be strong enough to make this worth it…. And yet onto the next I go. 😩
Lately been stuck reading bully RH since that's the dad lately, and the thing I find most frustrating is even though the MC declares revenge, it never happens. There's this need to resolve but it just... doesn't happen. Instead sex gets thrown into it and somehow it all becomes fine.
Still a good unique story though. Will plow through the next one just to see how it goes.
Noooo it can’t end there! Better than the first with more complicated relationships and budding romance. Kore is still the rabbit but she’s not going down easily and things are getting tangled. Ends on a cliffhanger. Looking forward to seeing what happens next. I love these characters.
3,5 stars omigaahd that ending left me in pieces. Gimme the next one I am so irritated by Aurora and that other girl who "works" for Hades i get that aurora never had a choice but even tho i hate the fact that Kore believes her.
It has M/M relationship and didn't warns. It was a good story.
It always feels such a sexism to find a Reverse Harem with M/M romantic involvement. I never came across a Harem, even in Anime, where the male character has to deal with his girls over each other.
I don't know who likes this, no girl fantasies about her guy with another guy, i mean maybe someone does (big world, lots of people). But is not common enough to make my struggle trying to escape this narrative realistic or plausible. If you want to make a gay book, you do you, i'm not homophobic and for so long i restrain myself from saying anything because of the fear of coming across as one. But this is BS.
I can't imagine a gay man reading this and finding amazing to have a "representation" as background story, barely there, of a woman centered book. Used as a justification as why her polyamory works. This is also homophobic.
In a woman centered book, why can't she just be the center and done. Is like man harem are very realistic, so there is no need to put " more reasons" for the woman be with him in a polyamory relationship. But when is reverse, is not realistic enough, so they have to also share each other. That's not a Reverse Harem, that's just a Harem with the woman POV.
I know bisexuality should have a place, and be respected. Although, Gay men don't like of the idea of his man with a woman, and vice versa. It's so complicated for bis in real life, such a struggle. So why anyone thought it will be a nice trend in books for female public? The only answer i have is sexism.
Why this topic is getting this amount of space in woman stories? Don't we have enough sexism already? When a space just for us will be just for us? Can bisexuals create their own space? Force gay men topics in woman books will not make anyone sympathetic. I really doubt heterosexual men find struggle running from gay woman in the middle of their love stories, so it only works against woman and never in their favor.
At least warns us! Part of my anger is that i lost time with this shit.
BTW i like Yaoi, but it is implied, and boys stays with boys, this is not the same thing.
I enjoyed this more than the first book. The characters are getting more development now and things are starting to get interesting. I still don't like Kore/Persephone much, although I'm starting to empathize with her a little more. Hades sucks, and Fenrir isn't much better. Honestly I think Dionysus is the only character I actually like, although I might be starting to develop a soft spot for Loki. But the character development is enough that I can begin to understand the motivations behind the other characters, even if I don't like them.
Well, that was just rude to leave it like that lol ok it was awesome too, but cliffhangers suck. I am so freaking curious as to where this is leading! There are so many surprises and unexpected events that I still am trying to play catch up. Which makes this an exciting series to read. The characters have a sort of love( I use this word loosely)\ hate relationship (if you could even call it that). I'm not sure how everything is going to play out yet but I'm excited to see!
I love Kore! She isn't afraid to go against the grain and stand up for what she believes in. She is still the "rabbit" and being targeted by Hades, Loki and Fenrir. Along with her being the "rabbit," Dionysus as also been added as a target.
I had a few questions coming into this one, and some were answered, but I still have some and more. The tension that is between Kore and the guys is pretty thick, just waiting to explode.
The games aspect of the book is pretty interesting. I'm excited to see where it goes after that cliffhanger.
The story is really good and the mystery kept me hooked. But I thought I was going to read a retelling, rh, college enemies to lovers kind of story. By the end of book 2 there has been a couple of kisses and a couple of heavy petting only. All 1-1 fooling around, where is the rh? Still a good story with drama, a ton of bullying, some mystery and action (during the games). I enjoyed it.
After getting bullied she decides to fight back by joining the Games which is like the Olympics. They train and actually end up winning. She is also getting the feels for her Gay best friend. Also end up finding out that her father is Ares and not Zeus turns out Ares has been banished for treason as per Cyrus. Short book but the story kept moving at a decent pace.

I enjoyed this book and I enjoyed the series for the most part. But in the last book there is MM in the harem which I don’t like in my RH. There isn’t a warning in the blurbs, there is a small warning most will miss at the very beginning of book 3, that you have to scroll backwards to see, which most people won’t do.
Still don't like any of the guys, they are too underdeveloped, there is not much when it comes to conversations, which I hate. The best way the relationship is able to develop is through deep talk and adventures, unfortunately none of this is present here. Though my heatmeter did catch some warm waves.
now we are finally getting somewhere but it ended before it started unfortunately. the mfc isnt fighting back as i thought she would which is disappointing. ill hope for grovelling in the next book but i dont think ill get it. there is one character that i think is in the harem but we still havnt gotten his pov and im worried. hes my favourite since he is not a bully and is actually sweet.
Book 2 in the series. This story picks up where book 1 ends. The academy is for gods. Like how River Ramsey the author not only has some 12 of the Greek gods , but some Titans like Cronis but some Viking gods , like Loki , Thor and Odin. Persy is the nick name for Persephone the daughter of Demetra . In this book 2 Persey will fight back against Hades , Loki and the Fenrir . Persey finds out that her father is not Posident as Hades told her but Ares , the god of war . Persey idea is to bring the Academy to shame by telling everyone especially Cronos what really goes on at the Academy . There is a lot going on. How Hades saves Persey not once but twice . There is an attraction between Persey and 2 of Her men . Persey goes somewhere where she meets her father , Ares , in the neither . Persey is told she will help her father defeat Cronos and rule the gods . It ends on a cliffhanger. Get ready for book 3
Both Narrators Erik Bloomquist, Amelie Griffin was great. Loved how they both did all the characters fantastic.
I’m so irritated with the boys why can’t they just tell the truth and be honest it would get them out of trouble out of issues a lot quicker than them hiding keeping secrets and being shady. That ending though wow mind blown 🤯 I think an oden is shady as Hell
Wild Hunt, book 2 of the Academy of the Gods series, is a book I picked up through Kindle Unlimited. As I mentioned in my review of the first book, I read 1 thru 3 in two days. I really enjoyed the storyline.
Another short installment. I liked it enough to continue reading, but I wish there was some give in Hades. For all the allusion to something bigger going on, we haven't gotten any details after two books.
This book was another pretty good short story. I really don’t know why I read so many bulky romances like I get so frustrated with the characters, like stop pulling her fucking pigtails you idiot man child. But I live for the HEA, so hopefully this group gets theirs!
There was some good dialogue and humour but overall extremely lacking. Next to no progression and no character development from Hades in particular. I really really did not like kinda romantic implication between Dionysus and Kore - a platonic friendship would have been ideal.
This was a quick series to read, I listened, the male narrator was a bit off but I enjoyed it. Very quick paced- it could have been one book. The romance was really better paced for this having been one large book. I liked the characters and the lore spin. Overall pretty enjoyable.
Wow this series is truly amazing the books are short but keep you on your toes and keeps you reading and waiting to.download the next book I really hope there is more
