Benjamin Bennett leads a lifestyle that many could only dream of. He’s a star quarterback, well educated, and he knows how to get what he wants. But what he stays clear from is love because his ambition and goals don’t align with it.

“I am a single man with laser-sharp focus on and off the field. Nowhere in that equation am I thinking about being in a committed relationship.” ~Benji~

Riana is sassy and all about herself. Her world consists of her career as a musician and she doesn’t see anything outside of it.. Though her intentions are good, she battles issues from the past that hinders her from truly moving forward in life, especially in the love department.

Benji and Riana think they have things figured out until heartbreak shatters each of them leaving no choice but to rebuild themselves. But will they rebuild together?

One important thing they learn is no matter how much money you have or how many people wish for your life, some things can’t be avoided.

Is it possible for them to move forward in a relationship or is it best to focus on themselves? Are the circumstances they’re being forced to confront too overwhelming to work through? Most importantly, will Benji and Riana be able to fight against an Unjust Love?

A Bennett Affair is a series based on successful brothers delving into their own journey of life. Ironically, love comes for each one of them at different times with different experiences.

I was looking forward to Benji and Raina's story and it did not disappoint. I loved how the author took us back to the beginning of Chelsea and Sean's story for us to understand Benji and Raina's history. Even with all the drama, they built a good foundation for their relationship. Unjust Love was, by far, a better read than Fearless Love. I really enjoyed it. Since Sebastien's book isn't on Audible, let me head to Amazon so I can buy the Kindle Version.

3.5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️

As stated in my review of book one in this series, it’s giving similar to the McClain brothers series. The story even had a Uncle Check that reminded me of Uncle Lee Chester. Unfortunately, I’ve read and listened to the McClain brothers so much that it was hard for me to dismiss the feeling of similarity. Also, it didn’t help that Wesleigh and Jakobi narrated both.

I listened to the audiobook via Hoopla. Both narrators are among my favorites.

It seemed to me that in Benji and Rianna's book there were more references to faith and spirituality than in the first book. Girlfriend was too much at the beginning of this book. Benji and Rianna being a couple felt too hit or miss to me. I never really felt their connection.

Rianna played both Benji and the other guy foul. I sat there with my mouth hanging open when she wanted to be surprised about how they felt. Even when she went to apologize, she started to back slide. That's why I was so shocked she had the nerve to go in on Benji after the party. Rianna was the poster girl for hypocrisy. Benji wasn't a saint, but he made an effort to be honest.

I did like the relationship she had with her brother Shooter. I also liked that the Bennett brothers were close. I thought it was a plus that people reached out to get counseling with no stigma attached.

There was a lot of info about Shooter's relationship with his daughter's mother and hints about Sebastian having a relationship. Then there was the surprise twist that had everyone shook.

I thought this book was better than the first. I am probably one of the only people that was sick of the screwing and talking about their body parts. I don't care if people are having sex, but when there is more sex than story, it overwhelms the book. It should just be erotica. It would have been interesting reading about Benji and Rianna getting to know each other, Or about Rianna and her girls. This storyline had a lot of potential, but it missed the mark for me. It was just OK.

I’m enjoying this series. I like Benji and Riana together. They were both dealing with some family issues that they were able to work through. I don’t think either of them was expecting to fall for each other.

Benji and Riana had me in a chokehold with their story!! it was a lot at times but it was very evident that these two were meant to be. I was pleased with all that they overcame to get to their HEA! The author really did a great job with the character development- any issues that they had was discussed in a realistic way. I absolutely loved how free Riana was and how protective Benji was. Benji--- MY GOD! I loved everything about his character, not only was he the starting QB- he was an educated man that was thoughtful. whew!! I could not get enough of this book! awesome

I read the first book but this one I couldn't get i to. **SPOILERS** I felt as if it was all over the place. There was a lot of hopping around and lusting and cheating. It was too much. I barely finished it.

3⭐️ Almost, But Not Quite Love...
After meeting Benji and Ri earlier in the series, I had high hopes for a romance that would feel earned, layered, and intimate. And Unjust Love certainly had the ingredients for that: a complicated emotional setup, a strong family dynamic, and a lead couple with a shared history. But ultimately, the execution left me more frustrated than fulfilled.

Let me start with the positives.
One of the things Donnia Marie does do well is showing how close-knit and emotionally available the Bennett brothers are. That softness, that brotherhood, it is a real highlight for me. And the fact that therapy and counselling were included without stigma? Huge. Authentic introspection is difficult to write, but DM made it work.

But then came the handling of the romance itself.
I don’t mind a good (!) third-act breakup or drama if it's done well. In fact, when the emotional tension builds organically and the resolution is satisfying, it can make for an incredibly cathartic read. But here? The drama felt more like an obligatory twist than a meaningful turning point. And the resolution? Rushed. I needed emotional closure, not just a hasty reunion that glossed over the very real wounds that had been inflicted. There were so many threads left dangling—apologies that felt incomplete, realisations that never fully came to light, and conversations that simply didn’t happen. Instead, we got holidays and boinking, nice but not enough!

Donnia Marie spends pages on scenes that add very little to the emotional core of the story—side conversations, setting details, minor plot points—and then skims right past the scenes that should carry emotional weight. Why do we get depth where it doesn’t matter and a surface-level brush-off where it absolutely does? It's a strange imbalance that makes the story feel hollow in places where it should’ve felt deeply grounded. The uncle twist, was really well done, but this was supposed to be a romance.

Now let’s talk about Rianna.
She was hard to read—not because she’s an unlikeable character, but because her choices weren’t always earned or fully explored. The whole Benji–Rianna–Santos triangle felt like a missed opportunity in some aspects. In the hands of a more emotionally layered narrative, this could’ve been a painful, complicated story about being torn between past and future, loyalty and desire. But here, it just appeared unfair and immature. Rianna’s behaviour felt selfish at times, and instead of seeing her reckon with that honestly, the book seemed to move past it too quickly. She played both men in ways that were emotionally manipulative, even if unintentionally so—and that needed more narrative accountability.

While Benji needed some time to mature, he deserved better than what he received. Thus, all in all, I didn't really buy their romance.

Ultimately, Unjust Love felt like a novel that could’ve been so much more than it was. There were glimmers of a powerful, healing love story here, but they got buried under uneven pacing, confusing emotional priorities, and a resolution that didn’t do the characters—or the readers—justice. It wasn’t a bad book. It was just okay. And with these characters, that’s a real shame.

Well damn..🥵

Shooter plz you lead that girl on.

Ngl Ri was wrong as fukk for how she did Santos, but I guess I get it, cause when you know you know.

Benji and Ri cute af together💕

Uncle Chet is my favorite 😂😂😂

The family drama could have been resolved with counseling and conversation they did the most.

Affects of the past...

Benji & Ri...sigh....OMGI love this story...it is full of drama-the good, the bad, and the ugly of life's many storms and challenges. Mixed in with a whole lot of passion and you have an intriguing love story.

I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT I'M ABOUT TO SAY THIS, BUT JAKOBI DIEM & WESLEIGH SIOBHAN WERE ENTIRELY TOOOOOOOOOOOOO MATURE TO BE VOICING THE CHARACTERS OF BENJI & RIANA!
Let me explain. Benji Bennett was young & seemed it IN EVERY WAY. When he got Riana(I REFUSE TO REFER TO HER AS RI! THERE IS ONLY ONE RI & IT IS QUEEN RIHANNA/ QUEEN RIH RIH FOR THOSE OF US WHO REALLY FAN OUT FOR HER!)inside the pool & he she allowed him to stimulate her lower half, Benji seemed blown away that she had a piercing & wanted to see it. I f that was a grown man, I COULDN'T TELL; HE SEEMED LIKE A 13 YR. OLD at that point, which was probably why Riana felt that he wasn't ready for her.
Then, THERE WAS ENTIRELY TOOOOO MUCH JUST FOR THE F--K OF IT SEX BETWEEN THESE TWO THROUGH OUT THE BOOK! At ONE POINT Riana couldn't stop thinking about the romp she & Benji just had, spoke to her friends about how massively large his 'member' is (which WHERE I COME FROM YOU DON'T DISLCOSE THAT INFO TO FRIENDS & RELATIVES BECAUSE THEY MAY BE ENVIOUS & WANNA SEE FOR THEMSELVES WHAT HAVE YOU FIENDIN' SOOOOOOOOO MUCH!)!
There was the time when Riana called herself going to battle for her man slut brother SHOOTER ROW, who had screwed a woman many males that freely toss around their rods to ANYONE WHO WILL ACCEPT IT, refer to as a h*e Lexie going to her house, having words about the child care demands Lexie makes towards Shooter for their daughter Alexandria, then meeting her niece for the first time, UPON RECEIVING A D--K PICK ON HER PHONE FROM BENJI, Riana WNET TO THE BATHROOM TO SHOW BENJI HER PIERCED CL*T IN return! JUST UNNECESSARY sex-related scenes for NO GOOD FRIGGING REASON!
Riana had gotten pregnant, which had to be medically terminated, due to it being in the fallopian tube, she had sex with her boyfriend SANTOS & her WANNABE BF, BENJI & DIDN'T KNOW AT FIRST WHICH HAD IMPREGNATED HER. SANTOS came to the hospital to visit her, even though he realized that he couldn't be the baby's daddy due to utilizing condoms every time he'd been with Riana. While a SELFISH Benji LIVED HIS LIFE UNTIL HE READ STORIES OF Riana being in the hospital & possibly preggers. Santos seemed really hurt that he wasn't the father of the unborn fetus & even more so by the games Riana had been playing, which made me feel sorry for him more than for HER.
Benji waited to visit Riana AFTER SHE'D RETURNED HOME, CONFIRMED TO HIM THAT HE HAD GOTTEN HER PREGNANT, THEN HE TOOK HER ON HIS B-DAY VACAY, WHERE THEY PARTICIPATED IN EVEN MORE (POSSIBLY UNPROTECTED) SEX
Though the author threw in the more mature characters Imani, Riana's PR/Manager &Benji's brother, Sebastian Bennett-as an introduction of them as a couple for the next book, I STILL FOUND BOTH Riana & Benji to NOT had been WORTHY of THEIR OWN book. It was MAINLY ABOUT THEIR SEX LIVES & NOT MUCH ELSE! MAYBE I DIDN'T MUCH CARE FOR THE FEMALE LEAD CHARACTER BECAUSE I DIDN'T LIKE THAT THE AUTHOR MADE HER A RECORDING ARTIST & NAMED HER AFTER MY FAVORITE MEGASTAR ENTERTAINER (with NO 'H' & 1 'N'!)! I DIDN'T LIKE THE MALE LEAD CHARACTER BECAUSE HE WAS WRITTEN TO BE SEXIST IN I CAN F--K WHO I WANT WHENEVER I WANT, BUT SHE CAN'T DO THE SAME W/O BEING NICKNAMED A HOE/SLUT/THOT/'FOR EVERYBODY'! I DON'T KNOW WHAT THE AUTHOR WAS THINKING, GIVEN MOST OF THE MALE CHARACTERS OPENLY THOUGHT/SPOKE LIKE THAT.
WESLEIGH & JAKOBI TRIED VERY HARD TO CAPTURE THE YOUTHFULNESS OF THE CHARACTERS, I'll give them an 'A' for effort. But, this probably should have been narrated by LESS MATURE VOICES.
I gave it a 3 star rating because I'm sure someone else who read/listened to it may've enjoyed it & the characters. I felt that the character SEEMED TOOOOOO CLOSE TO ARIA FROM THE BUTTERFLY Series. JMO.

This is like only the 3rd or 4th audiobook I've DNF'd. [Thanks for all the borrows, Hoopla <3]

But ... all the issues in the previous book(s) - low key I wondered if the authors were the same but a different pen name was used because of all the "I stood to my feet" and screaming the characters did when they weren't actually screaming and all the other odd/off word choices...

BUT ANYWAY.

Like - I knew Rianna was a cheater. Obviously when she was with [Santos?] but was literally fucking with Benji. But apparently he didn't know she was with someone.

And... look. If everyone was not actually attached and she was sleeping around, fine. (I took a moment to parse this out, to make sure it wasn't misogyny etc...)
But it's not - she's in a committed relationship with Santos. But still fucking around. And at some point it comes out she does it because "men cheat too so I can/should." And like ... no.

No.
(Sure that's true/it happens, but it's not an excuse or reason to, and that's on you.)

So ... major negative column already.

So much drama, characters being shitty to each other and ~strangers.

I started skimming a lot.

I also ... when Benji caught the [winning] pass at the super bowl ... I ... am not sure he was an eligible receiver ... [there weren't many details but ...] => so that grated too...

BUT THEN. Again I skimmed a LOT so I was like "wait wh..." sometimes but - BUT

Here's the biggest thing that REALLY has me writing the DNF - the miscarraiges.

[I ... O_o I mean IDEK WTF was going on but something was messing with Benji and his family and his mom and ... O_o... o_O parsing from what I DID hear ... it ... seems his parents had some trouble/a rocky patch and either his mom slept with someone else or she was raped? ... I mean something definitely was and felt off...]
SO - she tells him though that she felt if she did get pregnant it was God's will etc and everything happens for a reason. :|

But! this is after Rianna reveals she had an ectopic pregnancy so obviously she miscarried/they had to do surgery and ...we have Benji here thinking "this is God's doing/will" and NOPE.

NOPE.

NO.

GOODBYE.

I’ve listened to 3/4 of this series and I want to be a fan but I’m not. The author has so much potential and has many great ideas but IMO, doesn’t flesh out the dialogue enough. It feels as though the dialogue is very rushed and doesn’t give you time to sit with the characters in their emotions before moving on.
In this book in particular, the MFC went from being sad, to trying to have sex, to not having sex and then to fun. There weren’t many smooth transitions.
So many things happened in the story with outside characters that didn’t fully connect to the main story or foreshadow things for the next book. I hope she keeps writing and I’ll definitely keep supporting!

This, while good, wasn't as good as the first. Riana was a bit annoying, with her going back and forth between the guys, but I'm glad that Benjamin "Benji" was able to heal with her help and she with his help. The loop with the dad thing was a shock. I'm glad we got a glimpse of Sebastian and Imani encounters bc he sounds like a suspicious dude and I'm intrigued😏. Book 3, what's good.

It's rare that I cant STAND a book character but this book was able to make me do it. Riana was infuriating and it took everything for me to finish this one. I didn't have the same experience with a book 1 so I'm hoping book 3 saves the series for me.

The Magic Touch

**Spoilers**
I really enjoyed reading Benji and Riana's story of love and getting an update of what Sean and Chelsea got going on. Riana didn't want to open herself up to love because of past issues with her mother and father even to the point of trying to have her cake and eat it too with two men. I knew things between Ri and Santos was going to last because don't no woman want a soft, go with the flow man and Benji gave her that take charge roughness. I hate the loss they suffered to bring them together but was glad that they went through it together on their private trip and bonded closer than before. They both had to deal with family issues with Ti's parents filing for divorce and the circumstances making Uncle Stan Benji's biological father and Tavious his brother. Sam, Belinda, and Aunt Tina get MPV awards for forgiving Uncle Stan and still letting him be a part of Benji's life. Uncle Check's deep Southern drawl was hilarious. It was good that Benji and Ri made commitments to each other and i can't wait to see what happens next with them. I enjoyed that little excert about Shooter and Lexi's backstory and can't wait to read their story And see what Sebastien and Imani got going on.

Benji and Riana, Age Ain’t Nothing But A Number

I love me some Ariana & Benji!!!…
Benji stood on business and I love that he didn’t accept crumbs when he knew he was worth the WHOLE meal!!!…
Shooter let him know that he was not ready for what came with Riana!!!…
Riana played with the age, but she was the one playing games!!!…I was glad that Santos found out about Riana, but my heart broke at the way he found out!!!…I knew he was going to get his heart broken, and I hoped that Riana told him before everything crumbled!!!…Santos ignored the red flags that Riana was fanning!!!…
A family of secrets, but the one of Benji’s paternity was a deep one!!!…Have to love a man with a forgiving heart and woman that loves him even deeper because that could have been the catalyst that broke this family!!!…
I loved me some Uncle too!!!…He got his point across with all the humor in the world!!!…
This was definitely a story of trials and healing that you could see yourself in for real!!!…

This is the second book in A Bennett Affair series, and it’s just as sizzling and intense as the first. It picks up the story of Benji and Riana, who we met in the series’ debut. Though they’ve always shared a playful chemistry, Riana never gave Benji a chance—he’s younger, with a reputation as a charming ladies’ man thanks to his fame, fortune, and good looks as a star NFL quarterback. But Benji’s been harboring feelings for Riana all along and won’t let anything stop him from getting closer to her. Riana, a successful artist and musician, is also no stranger to fame—and the unwanted attention and scandals that come with it. Some of the rumors are true, but how much? Will they continue to flirt or take a chance on love? Can they handle the pressure of social media and the impact it might have on their friendship? This emotional rollercoaster, filled with laughter, heartache, and passion, will leave you hooked from start to finish.

Now I knew I was in for a treat when I started this journey with the Bennett brother but Benjamin has stolen my heart...welcome Benji to my harem of #bookhusbands. I love how each book is interwoven with the previous one so you don't skip a beat yet you get to experience the new couple from their own POV. Riana is a bawse....young, talented and living the life she wants on her own terms that's until Benjamin Bennett comes along and throws ice on the fire. I loved them together they were perfect for each other and they needed one another. I was happy to see them both grow individually and move past their childhood traumas even while navigating their celebrity and being so young. Overall I loved it and can't wait to dive deeper in the series of these amazing brothers.

This is about Chelsea’s friend Rianna. This story happens alongside book one. I thought that was fun to read.

Rianna is cheating in her boyfriend for Benji. He thought it was all fun and games until her boyfriend mentions he wants to marry her. That threw Benji for a loop because she never mentioned they were even that serious. He woulda respected their relationship if so.

But Rianna don’t know if she wants to be with him. They avoid each other until she goes through an ectopic pregnancy. The boyfriend know it’s not his kid because they have always used protection. But she then has to tell Benji it was his because they slipped up.

That along with some therapy brings them closer together snd they decide to make it work

Benji and Riana have been friends since they were teenagers. Benji is a star pro quarterback, and Riana a worldwide singer. Both have every material thing they could want, but both have issues with monogamy. As they get closer, it scares them to be vulnerable. Between the ups and downs, there is so much heat between these two.

I love the catchup with those we met in Fearless Love, and the new characters. Some of them are a hoot, some are trifling, but they’re all memorable.

I am really enjoying this series. Jakobi Diem and Wesleigh Siobhan do such a great job with the narration.

Benji and Rihanna's story was a beautiful one. I liked how they were very vulnerable with each other and didn't hide their feelings. They both had personal family issues going on (Benji's paternity revelation and Ri's parent's marital issues) that they were able to support each other through. Neither of them were looking for a relationship, but their beginning came about organically. I can't choose whose story I like the most, Benji and Rihanna's or Sean and Chelsea's. I rated both a 4. Now I am on to the oldest Bennet brothers story.

Benji!!! I loved me some Benji! This was another friends to lovers style but from a different angle. I enjoyed the family dynamic and the overall message of forgiveness. Being that I’m currently struggling in family forgiveness, this story came right on time. I also enjoyed how the author included Godly messages without the entire story being church based or the message feeling forced. Definitely sparked some inspiration for my own personal writing.

TW//CW: ectopic pregnancy, cheating, mention of rape

Without giving a spoiler, I just thought Benji acted a bit out of character at the end. After that came a quick, wrapped with a bow conclusion. Other than that, I liked it better than book 1. It also made me want to read the next brother's book. I loved the heat between Benji and Riana. If it weren't for that out of character moment, I would have done 4 stars. There are a lot of flashbacks and they just didn't work for audio.

I love romance stories but I don't really like mess and Riana was messy. She was in a relationship with Santos but wasn't really feeling him they way he was feeling her. He was planning a marriage meanwhile she was cheating with Benji, the man she really wanted. I felt bad for Santos because he seemed like a good guy and he ended up hurt because Riana refused to be honest. Riana got to have a happy ending with Benji while Santos lost another child and ended up alone 😔

I actually ended up liking Benji a lot. He made this somewhat enjoyable. Riana... not so much. She was acting up for more than half of the book. Girl, heal?
I'm going to finish the series but omg... lmao. The writing?
She will go into depth on scenes no one cares about, but in more emotional scenes she just brushes over the discussion... why?
I guess she deems it unimportant but some of the scenes she decides to write out leave me questioning.

Ok. This series was started on a whim.

This series was started on a whim. I had downloaded it free on Audible. It was getting ready to be discontinued so I said let me listen for free. But right out the gate I was hooked. I had to follow along and read too. When I say a hidden gem. You can not go wrong with our favorite narrators too. Listen and follow along or enjoy a great story series. 😍

Unjustly extra

I was looking forward to Benji and Raina's story, but I found it full of other random people and the drama of their lives. From the beginning there was no love just a hot dose of good ole lust. I was looking for more of a connection between the two, but for a good part of the book they were hooking up with other people 🤦🏽‍♀️
