“Tse gu kal! The Great Dawn has come!” I’m loving the terrifying way the series is evolving! Yanez and Chaney once again have overdone themselves. Just when I think Dean and the rest of the survivors have made it, there’s another horrifying -if not worse-turn to the scene. A magnificent series highly recommended!
Book three in the Orion Colony series didn’t disappoint! It was fun to read and I especially enjoyed the bits of humor. Not overly done and it breaks up some of the serious scenes and actions passages. Definitely recommend if you like Guardians of the Galaxy or adventures!
Another great installment in the Orion saga. This adventure is in the same universe as the Renegade series only 2000 years earlier. Adventure, excitement, and just enough mystery to make it interesting. Renegade was fun, but these are better. Keep em coming.
I Love JN Chaney. The Renegade series is Fantastic, love it. Most of his others are great also. I am enjoying this "prequel" overall, but seriously it is too much like Renegade. Even the whole "we are attracted but it takes until book 3 for us to get together" thing. I mean its the same lead character, the same hot sidekick, the only difference is that the best friend is not an AI. Also, there are far too many standard scifi gimicks like Zombie viruses and the like. Also, the fact they have to rehash all the backstory near the beginning of each book is annoying. If you don't know what is going on, read the books in order.
Take these books for what they are - mindless reading to take your mind off the real world and they are very entertaining. It isn't Asimov and this is definitely the weakest series I have read from JN Chaney.
So now we have true aliens who've entered in, more remnants of the faction that keep hanging on (why? Just, why?), more explanation of the planet situation and why there aren't any more people on it. There are some v-e-r-y convenient plot points that require some suspension of disbelief. But this is like candy - quick scifi that isn't overly deep or complicated. There are enough elements that make it interesting and fun and that's enough for me.
And I seriously had to laugh at the reference to Jason Anspach. You authors and your cabal are hilarious.
Which would probably not be the case if not for Ray Porter. Talk about bringing it up a notch.
The crew sent to investigate the communication part of the downed Orion have not returned and Legion is gathering its forces. Dean, Stacy, U run and Ricky, along with the alien head out to investigate what happened to the others and find the rest of the aliens. However the alien nest lies beyond the mist... What us in the mist and is it dangerous to them? We know it as dangerous to others.... There's a few revelations, some battles some intrigue some aliens and plenty of adventure in this novel. A fun read.
Dean, Stacy and Arun have entered the open door into the alien structure. There they meet an alien called Tong. He tells them some of the history of his planet and throws some light on the contagion affecting their missing colonists. But the most amazing thing that he tells them is the prophecy of his people. It is a prophecy that Dean doesn’t want to hear or believe. The story continues.
This is one of those sci fi series,That you read for the pace and fun. I have a lot of questions and I have found some convenience in the plot structure. I am okay with that though. 👌 In this book We get to know the species inhabiting Genesis. There is a little bit Of relationship development in the main characters. I did tear up a bit when a scene happened lol. Overall I am enjoying the heck out of this series.
Decent but not good enough to keep reading the series. Way too many tropes going on at once. New colonists from Earth crash landed on alien planet due to sabotage, civil war with aliens that were in cryogenic sleep, something in the Mist that kills, missing explorers, dinosaur like creatures that kill, prophecy about the MC from the aliens and that doesn't count the zombies. Way overkill.
Book three in this series. The survivors have finally found an alien species that is highly intelligent, but most importantly willing to help them. This is a extremely fast paced read from the first to last page. Survival is a top priority on a daily basis. Enjoyed immensely!

The book was OK for me, just another chapter in the continuing saga. Mostly believable stuff but occasionally skips over how things are accomplished. I think the book is probably only about 200 pages in print as I finished it pretty quickly. Now on to the next chapter; which I hope is the last one in this saga.
These are basically one continuous story, so do not expect any sort of conclusion until the end. At least I assume thats how it will continue now that I am done with book 3. The good news is they are good entertaining books, its not hard sci-fi by any means its more Star Trek fun sci-fi than The Quantum Evolution hard sci-fi.
The Orion survivors continue battling the inhospitable planet they landed on. Dean and the rest of the leadership use their alien friends and a lot of courage to help battle Legion and start helping make the Orion survivors safer.
A great series with lots of action and adventure. As if crashing your space ship wasn't bad enough. You have to survive a enhanced aliens plague, fanatics and save two species. I look forward to more from this series 😁
Legion continues to lob well aimed spanners into the collective Eternal and Transient works, with predictable mayhem ensuing. An additional prophecy with worrying connotations comes as this episode ends.
This book is a must read to anyone that loves suspense and adventure. Dean and Stacy are a very big part to the survivors of the Orion ship and passengers, while they try too find a cure for the alien virus, hopefully everything will go as well.
Another good effort by Chaney. As I mentioned in my last review, it could have been folded together with Part Two. But I like the growing relationship between our good mechanic/gladiator and the fetching Suit. And aliens!
Orion Awakened is a great read about a man who chooses to rise up and become a leader for a group of people he barely knows! Action packed and full of adventure!
