If there were ever a man who prided himself on always being up front with women, it’s tatted bad boy, Crayson Madden, in the flesh. His world may revolve around sex and cigars, but there’s a lot more to this cigar lounge owner than what meets the eye. Too bad Jordyn Jameson spends more time arguing with him, than seeing beyond his asshole-ish ways. Now, they are forced together whether she likes it or not and the more Crayson pushes her buttons, the more he likes what he sees behind the confident siren.
Dessert bar owner, Jordyn Jameson, would rather poke her eyes out than spend time with the certified playboy. Unfortunately, this creator of tasty treats doesn’t have a choice in the matter. Crayson has recipe for disaster written across his sexy forehead and the one thing she’s learned from her past, is that men like Crayson were good for one thing and one thing only. She knows he wants her in his bed, and although she may be tempted, she’s not giving in. Besides, she has bigger things on her mind. Jordyn has been harboring a big secret and needs help fast. The irony of it all? The last man she’d ever sleep with may be the only one to help ensure that her secret stays that way.

I knew after the first book. That I was going to love and hate this series. And that is exactly what happened! The characters are funny, to down to earth, next door type people. In each book the author gives just enough back ground on each person to be familiar with them, at the same time not bored with the details. I'm glad I pre order this book, and even happier with it being a page turner. The part I hate is the wait for next book in the series.
Claimed By Crayson was so much better than Blessed by Malakai. I actually enjoyed it and wasn't wishing for it to be over like book one. There were so many LOL moments. I laughed so much throughout this book. The attraction between Crayson and Jordan seemed much more authentic than Malakai and Avery. I actually liked them as a couple. Their inappropriate back and forth banter had me rollin'! I think I liked this book more because of Crayson's abrasive and azzholish ways. I'm not into azzholish behavior but, I could definitely learn to love his. Fingers crossed that book three is just as good as Claimed By Crayson.
I’m going from read one more book and make a decision about me and this series. Low to no angst. Very little relationship development. It was like - we can’t stand each other. We gotta be around each other. We love each other. The end.
I'm reading this series out of order but that's because I'm a sucker for the enemies to lovers trope and of all the Madden brother romances, Crayson was the only one to offer that.
Claimed by Crayson is a quick and fun read. I loved Crayson and Jordyn's banter and dynamic from the very beginning. It was clear that while they were both obviously attracted to one another, Jordyn really did find Crayson to be an annoying pain in the ass and that sold the enemies to lovers trope. Authors don't always get that right.
I loved the out of the box career paths they both had. Cray owned several cigar lounges and Jordyn owns a Sweet bar where she sells delicious desserts that pair well with alcoholic beverages. Its when Jordyn needs to enlist the help of Crayson to fulfill an order for her business that they start to hang out and get to know one another and the sparks begin to fly.
The chemistry was through the roof. While this was a very upbeat and fun book to read, I appreciate the author's inclusion of pathos in the story. It added a bit of weight to the overall story and gave the characters more depth so it didn't feel like I was just reading another run of the mill contemporary romance novel.
The reason this book is getting FOUR stars, instead of five, however, is because of some of the problematic ways in which Crayson would speak to Jordyn. I won't say he was outright disrespectful, but...some of the shit he said to her was disrespectful. And I get it...there's the bad boy image to portray. But you can do that without making the character say outlandish shit that a man wouldn't be saying in the real world. At least I would HOPE men aren't out here blatantly telling women they "Want to fuck" over and over with the expectation that it will eventually happen.
Anyway! Besides that, I really enjoyed this book and these characters. I'm likely not going to read the rest of the series in order. I'm going to go with the brother who intrigues me the most next. I love the freedom that these kinds of books give you to do that so that's a plus for Sherelle!
at this point, the girls that get it get it and the girls that don't, don't.
i am IN LOVE with crayson and jordyn <3 this man was OBSESSED (and for good reason, bc ms jordyn is THAT GIRL!) the girlies already know that i love love LOVE a good enemies-to-lovers, and this was no exception. sherelle green has quickly become one of my auto-buy authors bc the way she writes is incredible!
loving this series so far, i'm excited to get into the rest of these books!!!
3,5✨ Spicy and fun enemies to lovers. She doesn’t want to have a relationship after her last one went down the drain and he is a player. They are at each other throat all the time, until they aren’t and things become really spicy. Fun short erotica and Jakobi Diem’s narration was great. He was the reason I picked the book on the first place, so I’m glad I enjoyed the story too.
Jordan was a boss and I liked it. Now her delusion that it wasn’t illegal seemed outside of her character. Enemies to lovers is always combustible add an edible and it’s another level.
It was just okay to me. I didn’t like it as much as the 1st book in the series. They were a cute couple after trying so long to pretend they weren’t interested.
A very good read! Jordan and Crayson were just meant to be! I loved their chemistry! The hidden business was wild! I enjoyed the journey. Quite a few grammatical errors but overall a great read! Looking forward to Carter reappearing and Caden finding his true love!
This book was hot and steamy, these Madden Brothers don’t play fair at all. Jordyn Jameson was doomed from this first time Bad boy Crayson laid eyes on her, he was determined to have her no matter what and she was determined not to fall for him. This book kept me very interested and I think it was even better since I listened to it.
THIS WAS MY FAVORITE BOOK OUT OF THE "TO MARRY A MADDEN" SERIES! I LOVED EVERYTHING ABOUT CRAYSON MADDEN!THE DESCRIPTION OF HIS CHARACTER MADE ME LOVE & LUST AFTER HIM EVEN MORE. I USUALLY DON'T LUST AFTER CHARACTERS IN A BOOK, BUT CRAYSON MADDEN BECAME MY FIFTH FAVORITE MALE CHARACTER EVER IN LITERARY WORLD {TAKING A 'BACKSEAT' TO "KAYSON WELLS" - OF NE NE CAPRI'S "THE P*SSY TRAP" SERIES; "NILES MONROE" OF CARL WEBER'S "TO PARIS WITH LOVE"/"NO MORE MR. NICE GUY"; "JADEN ALEXANDER ROSE" OF STEPHANIE NICOLE NORRIS'S "FALLING FOR A ROSE" SERIES; & ZAYN 'BLAZE' HOOVER" OF LATOYA NICOLE'S "LOVE AND WAR"SERIES!}! CRAYSON WAS HANDS DOWN MY FAVORITE MADDEN BROTHER BECAUSE OF THE MANNER THAT HE EXPRESSED HIMSELF. I ALSO FELT THAT JORDYN JAMESON WAS EQUALLY HIS MATCH THROUGHOUT THE BOOK & THE REST OF THE SERIES! I WAS ENAMORED BY HOW JORDAN JAMESON DESCRIBED THAT NEW YEAR'S EVE' KISS THAT HE GAVE TO HER, AFTERWARDS CRAYSON TOLD HER: "YOU DONE F**KED UP NOW. YOU LET ME KNOW HOW YOU TASTE....!"HE SAID SOMETHING ELSE TO HER THAT ONLY CRAYSON COULD SAY & I WON'T REPEAT (READ OR LISTEN TO THE BOOK: "#CLAIMED BY CRAYSON" & FIND OUT FOR YOURSELF!). I LOVED HOW CRASS CRAYSON IS & HOW HE SAID WHATEVER HE THOUGHT THAT CAME TO MIND. IT'S VERY REFRESHING FOR AN AUTHOR TO DEVELOP A MALE CHARACTER WHO IS DESCRIBED IN THE WAY THAT CRAYSON MADDEN IS DESCRIBED BECAUSE, MORE OR LESS, FOR GOOD OR FOR BAD, THIS IS HOW SOME MEN TRULY ARE. IN THE MANNER OF THE WAY CRAYSON VERBALLY EXPRESSES HIMSELF, HE'S MORE REALISTIC THAN WHAT MOST MALE CHARACTERS ARE WRITTEN TO BE. IF WE'RE BEING HONEST WITH OURSELVES, MOST IF NOT ALL PEOPLE USE PROFANITY FROM TIME TO TIME; IT'S JUST TRUE TO LIFE & TO OUR CHARACTERS TO SPEAK FREELY. THAT'S WHY I LOVED CRAYSON & JORDAN AS A COUPLE BECAUSE SHE WAS SIMILAR TO HIM ON SO MANY LEVELS THAT IT MADE THEM PERFECT FOR EACH OTHER! I THOUGHT JORDAN SHOWING UP UNANNOUNCED AT CRAYSON'S PLACE (EVEN THOUGH HIS BROTHER MALAKAI HAD CALLED TO GIVE HIM A HEADS UP BEFORE SHE ARRIVED) WITH HER SPECIAL SWEET TREATS IN HAND TO GET HIM TO 'WEAR HER OUT' WITHOUT GUILT OR SHAME MADE BOTH CRAYSON & JORDAN FREER SPIRITS, THUS MAKING THEM MY FAVORITE COUPLE IN THE SERIES & ONE OF MY FAVORITE COUPLES IN LITERARY WORLD! I LOVED HOW THEY PLAYED WITH EACH OTHER AS ONLY ADULTS CAN APPRECIATE {OR, NOT APPRECIATE, IF YOU ABOUT THAT LIFE}WHEN THEY WERE TRYING TO MAKE STATEMENTS TO WHAT THEY WERE TO EACH OTHER. THE PART WHERE JORDAN SHARED WITH CRAYSON WHAT SHE HAD ENDURED IN HER CHILDHOOD & HOW HE SOFTENED TO HER, SOME MAY EVEN SAY THAT CRAY MAY HAVE VIEWED JORDAN AS MORE THAN JUST HIS SEX PARTNER, BUT AS A RESILIENT WOMAN BEATING ODDS. AT THAT POINT, I FELT THAT CRAYSON FELL IN LOVE WITH JORDAN, BUT JORDAN WAS HOLDING OUT OF RECIPROCATING THOSE FEELINGS FOR HIM. I WAS GLAD THAT THEY DECIDED TO BE EXCLUSIVE TO EACH OTHER, HAVING A SPECIAL ROOM WHERE THEY COULD EXPRESS THEIR PHYSICAL LOVE FOR EACH OTHER WHENEVER THEY CAPTURED THE URGE TO DO SO WHILE AT THEIR PLACES OF BUSINESS. CRAY-CRAY& J. J 4 EVER! GOING BY THE LENGTH OF THIS REVIEW YOU MAY COME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT THIS MAY BE ONE OF MY FAVORITE LOVE STORIES-CERTAINLY THAT BY THIS AUTHOR! MAGNIFICENT JOB WITH THIS COUPLE, MS. GREEN!
Genre: Romance Audience: New Adult/Adult Plot vs character driven. Character driven (as expected by most romances)
First of, I like this book. I mean, I REALLY like this book. It's so difficult to come across African American/Black romances unless you're really looking. Also, it's difficult to come across one you actually enjoy.
I liked the terminologies Green used which was very reflective of the conversations between black people. Due to this, my reading experiencing was very enjoyable. Also, these terminologies were very familiar and I felt like I could relate to the characters and their experience.
Also, I liked that there was a different portrayal of black people. It was refreshing to read about black people who had normal jobs and abide by the law. Most of all, I liked the portrayal of Jordyn as a black woman. She is beautiful, feisty and a boss bitch who runs her own business. I love her sassy attitude and Crayson loves it too and she's ultimately goals.
Although, I have nothing bad to say about Claimed by Crayson, I wished Green was more visual in her descriptions. She gave a few descriptions of Crayson but I wished she went into more detail. From his POV and dialogue, and smartmouth, Crayson sounded like an interesting and sexy person. Ugh, I love him.
All in all, I would recommend this to any reader, especially a black female (or male) reader of romance, to read Green's books, especially if they're looking for a good romance read within the African American section.
If there were ever a man who prided himself on always being up front with women, it's tatted bad boy, Crayson Madden, in the flesh. Too bad Jordyn Jameson spends more time arguing with him, than seeing beyond his asshole-ish ways. The irony of it all? The last man she'd ever sleep with may be the only one to help ensure that her secret stays that way.
5-Star story, but excessive cussing truly distracts
I’ve read a few books by this author and always enjoy her storytelling—she really knows how to keep you engaged. I’m definitely looking forward to finishing this series.
One of my favorite parts of this book was his tattoo: “Life will feed the truth.” The meaning behind it was powerful—life will throw you curveballs, but through the decisions you make, your truth will be revealed in the results.
On to Book 3!
SIDENOTE (aka “Don’t come for my stars!”): Just a quick heads-up—my ratings are based on whether I’d reread the book or add it to my personal collection, not the quality of the story itself. So here’s how I roll:
5 🤩 = I’m obsessed with everything—the storyline, the author, and the narrators! I read it yearly and own ALL the copies: physical, digital, and Audible. I can basically recite this book. It lives in my private library. 4 🌟 = Loved the story, the author, and the narrator (if it’s audio). I’d happily reread it when I need a solid comfort read. 3 ✨ = Enjoyed the story, the author, and definitely the narrators. A great addition to my yearly reading challenge—likely to revisit if it’s part of a series I need to refresh.
I started the Madden series after reading about Carter Madden in Claiming Keaton’s Sanctuary. I dnf’d the first book in this series (Malakai) but I enjoyed this one more. Crayson Madden is dangerous but not in a violent way. He’s dangerous because he’s handsome, successful, and charming but also arrogant and crass. He’s the kind of guy that says highly inappropriate things to you while doing something kind and flashing an adorable smile so you don’t know whether to punch him or say well ok then sir. It’s obvious that he and Jordyn are just playing at the enemies part of the trope so they can get to the lovers part. They have nice banter and it’s ultimately a cute story.
I’m not rushing to get to the next book like I did with the Crowne Legacy but it was an easy, light read on a lazy Sunday.
Yesss I loved Crayson & Jordyn's story. I thought Sherelle did an excellent job writing these two characters. They were both funny, had the same humor and were both able to accept each other flaws. I could see the brothers cracking the jokes on the one brother who thought he could never fall for someone after what he had endured. I'm glad the author the pain that they both endured in order for them to understand one another. The writing of this story can show someone that what you have gone through someone else's story could be just as worst as yours and show the struggles that people endure.
I totally totally !over this book. The storyline was very different from anything that I have read in a long long time. The two main characters were the tin to the others yang. They were different but alike, their personalities though very strong they both had very soft parts not just for each other but for those that they cared for and loved. Grayson New he wanted Jordyn sexually and even though out loud she denied it, internally she knew she wanted him hustled bad. A true bed mate to life mate romance. I look forward to book 3 in the To Marry A Madden series. This is only my second story that I have read from Sherellle but it is not my last. A new fan.
The banter between Jordyn and Crayson was everything. Their chemistry was undeniable from the very beginning as some twisted close proximity enemies to lovers type love story. This is book two in this series and it was very relatable and had an intriguing little twist thrown in the mix. The dynamic with the brothers and friends group was effortless. More than anything the way that Caryson was after Jordyn like she was his pray and he didn’t let up until she allowed him to get her in his damn web!!! I loved everything about this story. Filled with love support and family with some secrets that only allowed the two of them to bond more. Great quick read but left nothing out!!
I LOVE this story. Just when I thought Ms. Green has done it all, she stepped her pen game up at least 5 more notches with this one. Jordyn & Crayson where definitely made for each other. Their chemistry set the pages of this story on fiyah! 🔥I give this story 5 stars and not just because it’s a great story but because it’s just as hot as any star in the sky. I can’t wait to see which of the #3Cs is next. Kinda hoping to get my #CarterCuriosity fed. This story will definitely cause a #CraysonCraze! 😁 Job well done to the author.
When I started this book I knew I was gonna love it. Crayson was indeed an a**h**e. But his relationship with his brothers were nothing but love. His interaction with Jordyn was inspiring. It grew at a steady pace not rushed at all. He didn't let anything he learned about Jordyn stop him from being there for her and eventually falling in love. Jordyn was an totally independent and enterprising woman. Awesome couple. Can't wait to read about the other Madden brothers.
One word...HOT!! This book is so worth the read! Sherelle has done it again! The chemistry between these two is off the charts and the story is so real! I know some reviews didn't care for the language, but that's partly what made it so real. Most of us have at least one friend of have been around folks who curse as normally as they use "if, and, or but" and that's how Jordyn and Crayson are. She's the female version of him and that's what makes their love so unique. Kudos to you, Sherelle, once again! You keep proving why you're my favorite!!
I'm so in love with Crayson and Jordyn. They both have so many layers that have to be pulled back to see the real them. Even though Crayson is a triplet, I love the close bond that he has with Malakai. I love how Malakai and Avery's wedding was intertwined with this book and that Ty and Serenity was included as well. I wanted Crayson's proposal to be included in this book since he said it would be in a warm place. I hope the next book is about Carter and Serenity because they really have my interests peaked.
3.5 for me The filthy sexy mouth on Crayson Madden!!!! worth the price of admission! Jordyn & Crayson giving each other so much shyt is hilarious. The narration of Jakobi and Mari make every character feel like somebody you know and talk back to. The shift into more a serious tone in the middle was a little jarring to me but I adjusted fairly quickly. The sexual banter...Ya'll...Craysons mouth! He is THAT dude! You will need ice water with this book. I cant wait to get into the next brother.
This was cute. I knew Crayson and Jordan would be explosive together after all that foreplay…I mean arguing they did. What I did to is was that they were both hiding some major secrets. Jordan especially dropped some bombshells in this book.
I was hoping that they would have had a bit more of a HEA type of ending but thinking about it, they had exactly the ending they should have.
I am really looking forward to continuing this series. I want all the Maddens to get a book but I only see one left. I will have to investigate this author’s books because I will definitely be needing more.
