Jane “Danger” Davenport is an internationally recognized artist and prize-winning author. She is based at ’The Nest’ overlooking Byron Bay, Australia, and has koalas in her garden.

Girls’ faces feature strongly in Davenport's whimsical Mixed-Media artwork, often with somewhat wistful or melancholy expressions and surrounded by interacting colour and nature.

Davenport started her creative career as a fashion illustrator and the evidence of her Parisian training lingers in her elongated figures. Davenport's work has been featured in a diverse array of media including major motion pictures.

As a gifted teacher, she is dedicated to making the world a better place, one drawing at a time. Through her online Art Schools, publications and Escape Artist Retreats, Davenport has enabled tens of thousands of creative people from all around the world to embrace their innate artistic selves and accelerate their progression.

I was lucky enough to go to Jane's book launch in Sydney and she was in fine form where we all were able to witness her unique and spellbinding ways of workshops. This book is such a beautiful addition to her other two brilliant books. I do not know how I discovered Jane's fabulous fun but it is really something everyone should partake in. It makes you feel so happy. And while there are so many ways to engage with her, there is nothing like having her books. You can spend hours looking at all the different ways to create art which you can imbue with your own style. Or if you are like me and just feel like you need a boost, all her books make you feel so light and up. Best way to make your life happy. And an easy way to bring yourself back to the world of creativity.

I have all of this artist’s books, which says it all really. She gives tips and tricks to help non-drafsmen such as me to produce something that looks recognisable

This has some useful but basic tips about drawing the body. It didn't delve so much into the supplies, assuming the reader is advanced enough to know how to use them if they're reading the book, which I thought was a wise choice. There were some interesting challenges and a few "follow along" tutorials. beautiful colors!!

I loved looking the through this book. Every time I flipped through this book again I found something else I loved. I love Jane's style and love how she makes it, although my figures loved nothing like hers but it was nevertheless fun to try. The book is beautifully done and the colours are amazing, she is truly gifted artist. I gave this book 4.5 out of 5 stars!

This book is amazing. I am new to art world and having a hard time at my age with no artistic talent. This book is great, simple and works the way my mind works!! I am also gifting it to my 9 year old niece who recently began creating with youtube artists!!

I’m a horrible drawer and have no natural ability but as I’m always interested in expanding my paper art horizons I decided to read this book. The heart concept was totally lost on me.

But I loved Jane’s style and felt the directions were clear and well written. Loads of gorgeous examples.

Art books can be hit or miss. I think anyone, whether they’re a newbie or a seasoned artist would love this guide to illustration. The best part is that, despite the templates, it encourages artists to find their own style. It is almost like you’re being given a shot at taking a class from the safety & comfort of your own home.
