This book series is just so utterly charming I adore them; I would highly recommend them to anyone of all ages for some light hearted and fun reading, but that also has a deep heart.
All of our normal crew are back, along with a new face, whose name isn't revealed until towards the end so I won't go spoiling it for you now, but it was ever so much fun as the first two books and I can't wait to see where the series ends up!

Cenere e Scintilla. Per tutto l’oro dei goblin! di Lindsey Kelk con le illustrazioni di Pippa Curnick, libro per bambini pubblicato da HarperCollins il 15 aprile.
Ultima avventura per la nostra Cenere, mi spiace doverle dire addio, ma ogni cosa bella ha un inizio e una fine e questa non può fare eccezione, anche se la speranza che esca un quarto capitolo io continuo ad averla. Non leggo molti libri per bambini, di solito prediligo le storie per ragazzi, ma non ho saputo resistere alla bellezza di queste edizioni e mi sono ritrovata immersa in una storia molto divertente con personaggi sopra le righe che per i piccoli lettori sarà impossibile dimenticare.
Senza dubbio le risate più sonore è riuscita a strapparmele la fata madrina di Cenere, Igor, già il nome di per sé è parecchio buffo, ma a vincere su tutto è la sua rappresentazione, diciamo che in questa favola non è la bellezza a farla da padrone e ben venga questa scelta perché va bene permetterci di sognare, ma com’è possibile che tutte le Principesse della Disney siano stupende? Viva la realtà in cui tutte le bambine possono rispecchiarsi, viva le particolarità e le differenze che ci rendono unici e immediatamente distinguibili.
Cenere non si smentisce nemmeno in questo capitolo e per colpa della sua golosità si ritroverà in un bel pasticcio da cui non sarà facile uscire. Sembrava andare tutto per il meglio, Cenere, Scintilla, Cacio e Hansel erano in viaggio alla ricerca della madre di Cenere, purtroppo i morsi della fame iniziano a farsi sentire e per poter mangiare occorrono delle monete d’oro che i nostri beniamini non hanno. Cenere però è dotata di poteri, così le fa piovere dal cielo e manda Scintilla e Hansel al mercato a comprare qualche leccornia. Mentre è solo con Cacio viene avvicinata da un goblin che la trae in inganno convincendola a seguirlo per mangiare alla sua taverna. Ovviamente è una trappola e il perfido goblin la rinchiude in cella, il suo compito da oggi sarà quello di ricoprirlo d’oro e siccome l’oro svanisce alla mezzanotte, si sa che i poteri di Cenere sono instabili, sarà costretta a rimanere per sempre sua prigioniera. I suoi incantesimi per liberarsi non funzionano perché la cella è stata stregata e solo dicendo il nome del goblin riuscirà a liberarsi (forse).
Come farà Cenere a uscire da questa situazione? Ci penseranno Scintilla e Hansel? Arriveranno in suo soccorso Igor e il Principe Gastone Garimberto Patatracco? Quel che è certo è che i problemi per Cenere non finiscono qui perché sulle sue tracce c’è anche il Cacciatore e con lui alle calcagna nessuno è al sicuro.
Piccoli smeraldi io ho un consiglio spassionato da darvi, andate dai vostri genitori o dai vostri nonni e chiedete loro di correre a comprarvi questa trilogia dedicata a una Cenerentola molto alternativa che vi farà passare dei bellissimi momenti e vi mostrerà che la perfezione della vita è sopravvalutata e che non c’è niente di più bello che essere amati e apprezzati essendo semplicemente se stessi.

This is a the third book in the Cinders and Sparks series and it just gets better and better.
Lindsey Kelk is a master of hilarious story telling adventurous.
We absolutely loved this book full of questing, delicious sausages, gold coins, mysterious maps and belly inducting laughs.
One adventure not to be missed!

Ahh I loved this. I loved the themes of identity and putting traditional ideals out the window.

Littlefae is rather a fan of the Cinders & Sparks series and it is one that I am happy for because it challenges the surrendered and dutiful nonsense of the original fairytale.
The third instalment in the Cinders & Sparks series sees the group come upon a Goblin Market whereupon Cinders get tricked by a naughty goblin (sadly not Jareth ☺️), Brian makes Prince Joderick’s acquaintance in the woods and him a fetching shade of blue, Hansel continues to make a plonker of himself, the Huntsman is closing in and we begin to find out just how wicked Step-Mother Margery really is!
It was so silly and funny. There was a huntsman in it and I liked the funny names like Noderick!!! I don’t like that step-mother Margery she’s tricky.
Definitely one to explore with concepts of fractured fairytales, challenging stereotypes and very funny and entertaining too!

Another fantastic read from Lindsey Kelk! I cannot wait to see how the series ends. Fun for all ages (even if you’re 28 and read sausage feast as something else...)
