Two words that force me out of bed every morning. Because two little girls depend on me. Because my family’s company depends on me.
As CEO, I have to show up, lead, be present. As Dad, there’s no room for error, not when it comes to raising my girls.
I’m no longer the same man, just a shell of a person I once was, going through the motions every day. Not seeing, barely breathing. Until Becky Summers, the new nanny.
She makes me see life in color when it was muted gray before. She brings a smile to my face when I swore I forgot how to. She makes me believe that there’s more to life than going through the motions.
Reasons why I shouldn’t date Becky: She’s my kids’ nanny. I’m her boss, and I shouldn’t cross that line. She has secrets she’s hiding.
Reasons why I should: Because … I think I’m falling in love with her.
Mia Kayla is a USA Today Bestselling romance author of hunky heroes and sassy heroines that always get their happily forever afters.
On the weekdays, she can be caught wearing a suit, commuting to her corporate job in downtown Chicago and raising three beautiful munchkins in the suburbs, four if you count the husband. Most of the time, she can be caught on the train with her nose in a book sporting a cheeky grin because the main characters finally get their happily-ever-after at the end.
She loves reading about happy endings but has more fun writing them.

Sooo... this one was emotionally exhausting to read... not a bad thing but I should have picked a different time to read Charles and Becky’s story. This was the first book I read by Mia Kayla and it won't be the last. It was so sweet and heartfelt. I loved Charles as the hero of the story, all the secondary characters were perfect and I can't wait to read about Brad and Mason.
The single dad trope is one of my favorites. Throw in falling in love with the nanny and I’m sold! I was so ready to dive into this book and enjoy it. However, it has the one thing that can make me mad in these books. The single dad was a widow. If you read any of my reviews, that’s an instant turnoff for me. I don’t like it because we spend half of the story reading about them grieving over their ex and that’s exactly what happened here. I just want to be focused on the romance between our two main characters.
I did like the aspect between the brothers and how they all came together for Charles and his daughters. However, the romance was lackluster. It felt kind of forced and I wasn’t really into it.
All in all, this book wasn’t for me and I don’t think I’ll be trying out anything else from this author.
Wait what??? Do we have the third book in The Brisken Billionaire Brothers series?
These Brisken boys! I was so happy to finally be able to read Charles and Becky’s story.
Charles Brisken, the oldest of the three brothers had lost his wife about four years ago just after delivering Mary, his almost 4 year old that looked just like her mamma. He and his two brothers Brad and Mason along with nanny Patty had been living together and raising Charles’ daughters ten year old Sarah and Mary. This tight little family was suffering though because Patty (who they referred to as Nana) was leaving them to go and be with her mother who had recently had a stroke. The biggest problem at the Brisken house was who would replace Patty. Thank goodness Patty knew someone who she knew could not only help Sarah and Mary and possibly help one particular Brisken brother (Charles).
Becky Summers needed this job, she needed this move, and she needed to get away from her past. So when Patty essentially offered her the chance to take over being Mary and Sarah’s nanny she jumped at the chance. Of course when she met the three Brisken Brother’s she was a bit stunned. These three good looking men were devoted to those two girls. This was going to be interesting.
Mia Kayla’s books are always an enjoyable read. She gives readers characters who aren’t afraid to laugh, who know they are going to make mistakes and who care deeply for each other. She can have you laughing one minute and in tears the next and it works every single time. It doesn’t take a reader long to become invested in her characters and their wild adventures. Her books hook you, reel you in and when it ends readers are satisfied that these characters are going on the lead their best life.
I've always wondered about them... always wondered how they started.,. Their dynamic... Charles just seemed so...serious. Like you can't joke around me. Being the eldest, the responsible one... the caretaker of the family...
It was a swoony and heartwarming read... this single dad, billionaire romance is everything you could want in a book. It's a light and easy read despite the angst... it won't leave you spent and drained... yes, it will make you cry but also can make laugh. It's sexy and would make the butterflies in your tummy go wild!
This is a new author to me and I will be checking out more of her work. She writes well and develop characters and story lines that are intriguing. Charles is a single dad who had a devastating loss of his wife leaving him with two young girls to care for. He has always had help with the two girls between his brothers and their nanny but the nanny has to leave to take care of her ailing mother. Not finding a suitable replacement the previous nanny talks to her mother’s caregiver and that seems like it will be a perfect fit for Charles in his girls. Becky is the replacement nanny that Charles knows she’s hiding something about herself but he can’t force her to talk about it. The attraction is there but guilt is also. Will they be able to love each other? What about Becky’s secrets?
This is the 1st in a new series and is Charlie and Becky’s journey. Charlie is the eldest brother who is a widower with 2-little girls, and he is also CEO of the family’s business. Becky is hired as the new nanny for the girls, and they are both wounded souls. Can these two heal each other and move on with a life together? This is a beautifully written story which is and emotional roller coaster, and is a sweet, heartwarming, humorous, and steamy 2nd chance love story. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I recommend for all.
Oh wow… This was such a sweet romantic story… I loved it.
If you love single parent books and two souls who both needed some healing then this is the book for you.
Charlie is a widower with two little girls but he is also the CEO of his family’s business. And he needs help. So Becky is hires as the new nanny for his kids. And lets just say, it was a sweet heartwarming funny and definitely steamy second chance romance.
So this books takes the cake! I adore Ms. Kayla and her work but this book has now become my ultimate favorite of hers! I’ve been curious of Charles and Becky’s story since this series started. And boy did this story give me everything I wanted and then some. Not to mention I adore Mary and Sarah and they’re even cuter in this book if possible! I laughed and cried and had to turn the pages faster to see what happened! I love this story and these characters! I just love it!!
I tried to like this one ... read as much as halfway but alas, I could not continue. It just lacked the oomph that made it worth while for me to waste my screen time (I read the ePDF version). Lack of strong characters ... yes, even the elusive, strong Charles did not do for me. And I didn't appreciate heros who kept pursuing the heroine (he's supposed to be the stand offish type! Alpha! Or maybe I was reading the wrong book). Hence, this was a no for me.
This was cute even if a bit unrealistic. I liked the family and the kids. I just thought the whole thing with Becky's back story and how that turned out was a little too far-fetched. I will definitely be continuing with this series at some point.
We have all read at least one classic single dad trope in our lifetime. I mean who am I kidding? Only one? Nah... So it was no surprise when I heard Mia Kayla was releasing a single dad story, I was really excited to see what one of my go to authors had come up with to add to my growing addiction of this classic trope. Kayla knocked this one out of the park with her heartwarming tale of a dad wanting the best for his girls despite the heart break and loss suffered at the death of their mother. This is a story of family, of unity, and of the perfect person entering their lives at the right time.
Nanny I Want to Mate is the third Brisken brothers story and Kayla actually takes us back a few years with this one. We finally see what happened to single dad, Charles and his girls after losing his wife. Four years after the loss he decides to bring in Becky. Becky is sweet, fun and totally understands these rambunctious, hilariously challenging girls of Charles. As you have it, sparks fly, temptation occurs and fluttering hearts take off as Kayla brings this new family together.
Kayla always delivers the perfect fairytale, happily ever after romance that warms your heart and lights up your kindle. This was an easy, enjoyable read that can completely be read as a standalone. I recommend reading Brad's and Mason's stories too as Kayla never writes a novel that doesn't keep me glued to my kindle!
I loved this story so much! it was perfect! I laughed so much with it! the kids were the perfect addition to it! the main characters were perfection together, I couldn't put it down!
Single Dad romance are my absolute favorite to read! I loved the way she wrote this story, it had all the elements I love, great chemistry between the main characters. Great read.
Loved every second of this book! Learning the pieces about Becky, and seeing it all unfold left me unable to put the book down! Even cried with the end! Its a must read, for sure!
Not all books are written for everyone. And unfortunately I wasn't the target audience for this book. Its too sweet and light for my pallet, so my rating is not a reflection of the story as i think it=f sweet ad light is your jam then its definitely for you. Its just a personal preference with this one. It just wasn't for me.
Dnf- WHY!! The 2nd book in the series that released earlier was so much better... usually nanny + kids + single father trope I’d be the first to sign in, but this... can’t even get through 30%
*** ARC kindly provided in exchange for an honest review. ***
My heart burst for this story. I just couldn’t put it down, reading about Charles and Becky’s journey. From the first page I was already long way gone, falling in love again with the Brisken family I missed so much.
That story, that family, those characters… I went through so many emotions with them, knowing that this series would stay on my mind for a long time. A beautiful story about two wounded souls who got a second chance at love but a little forbidden, since Becky was the nanny.
I adored the Brisken family, who endured loss, pain but sticking together, united and stronger. Endearing, charming and putting a smile on my face with their antics. Charles is the oldest of the family, widower of two cute and feisty girls, his whole world with his two brothers. For years, he took care of everything and everyone, and his brothers did the same, without asking anything in return. Their routine was well rounded until a new nanny came along and all bets were off.
Especially for Charles.
The moment these two met, it was like they could see what’s hidden deep inside the other and the chemistry was already there, and for once Charles started to feel something, scary and thrilling at the same time. Becky fitted immediately with his family, naturally and connecting with his daughters. Since his wife passed away, he couldn’t really move on, missing his wife and just lost. Until Becky came into their lives and progressively, his days were lighter and she started to gain more place in his life, his heart and everywhere.
Becky needed to get away from her past and when she met the Brisken family she fell in love with them and also for Charles. The woman who was always on the run, not letting people in and protecting herself. This time, this family and especially their father melt her heart on the spot. Fierce, sweet and funny, she was protecting the girls like her own and revealing more of herself and the broken parts to Charles.
The feeling was mutual for sure and every moment they shared was captivating. It was like watching a romance in the making but so much more. I appreciated how they created this strong bond with the girls but also the moments they had just the two of them. This part of darkness they knew too well. When a Brisken falls in love, he loves hard, protects and cherishes his loved ones.
I could feel all the love in here but also pain and insecurities, but Charles and Becky, it was like couple goals, genuine, sincere, honest and never taking things for granted. Heartbreaking and raw on some parts but slowly putting all the broken parts together. They just made my heart race! Le freaking sigh…
I adored all the series but this one is definitely a favorite. I have so much love for this story, for all the family. Special mention to Mary (charles’ daughter) and Brad, I wanted to high five these two characters! If you haven’t read about the Briskens yet, you know what to do! Team Brisken for life!!!
I didn’t think these stories of the Brisken men, could continually get better, but they do that and more. From womaniser Brad, the list man, Mason and now the CEO and eldest brother Charles these men have taken a special place in my heart, along with the 2 special girls that really take centre stage in their worlds. 4 yr old Mary, is a firecracker, a spitfire very much wiser then her young age and 10 yr old Sarah, who despite her young age has seen way to much horror, especially after losing her mum, while giving birth to Mary. Like all siblings Mary and Sarah Fight, but they form a united front especially with their doting uncles, wrapped very tightly around each girls finger….
After losing his wife, Charles has lent on long tine friend, Patty who has helped with the girls as a live in nanny, she’s a grandmother figure to all 3 Brisken men, but when she leaves them to look after her own mum, the men are stuck in a never ending circle of horrible nanny applicants, it was actually comical! But perfect Patty has the perfect replacement, but it comes with warnings… stipulations… ones that straight faced Mason doesn’t like. But if Patty recommends, Charles is happy with that… Enter Becky Summers. Young, sweet, gets on from day one with the girls, but she comes with baggage.
I loved Becky, she was just perfect from the beginning, her connection with Mary and Sarah was so sweet, but her attraction to Charles is something very different! This girl from the wrong side of the he tracks, a horrible upbringing and nightmares to make you shudder, desperately needs a new start, and that’s what she gets with The Brisken Family, in particular a certain daddy, who shares the flutters and sparks. Simple water, turns to love bubbles, and ….. well you need to read Nanny I Ant To Mate, for find all the goodness!
This was such a easy, enjoyable story, from page 1, through to the very end. It’s a story, NO a series you must read.
Well, this went very differently than I expected! Yes, it's definitely got the feel of your typical single dad/nanny romance, but this is much more a second chance at love after loss kind of story, with a heavier, more serious storyline than anticipated. It got a little slow for me in the middle, but there's a touch of suspense thrown into the mix, and a romance that was all kinds of sweet. Did I love it? No. But it's a solid, emotional romance featuring two characters who deserve to find their own happily ever after.
The story follows Charles, a widower who has settled into the role of single dad pretty well. When his regular nanny leaves her position unexpectedly, Charles finds himself welcoming a mysterious yet beautiful woman into his home. All Charles knows about Becky is that she comes highly recommended, yet there are some strange conditions to her employment. As Charles and Becky get to known one another, these two slightly broken individuals find a connection that neither one expected. But they both must overcome their past difficulties (some triggers here) if they have any hope of a future together.
The last book I read by this author, which apparently is also part of this series-in-reverse, was much more of a rom com. This really isn't. It's heavier and emotional, with light moments but a more somber tone. Though the description doesn't mention it, this is also part of a series that has been going backwards, so we see Charles' two brothers as single guys, when many fans of the author will probably have already read their love stories. Not sure of the reasoning behind that, but it doesn't impact the storyline in a major way. Regardless, this is a cute story. I never fully connected to the characters and it felt a little "standard" to me, but it's an enjoyable read. Anyone who likes a loving single dad and doesn't mind an emotional story will probably like this one. I received an early copy via Wildfire Marketing and am voluntarily leaving a review of this single dad romance.
So as this series goes backwards in time we finally get the story of Charles (the oldest Brisken brother) and his nanny, Becky. Charles lost his wife at the birth of his youngest daughter and now - after 4 years - needs a new nanny. Enter Becky. Becky has a past she is running and hiding from and when she meets the Brisken family, she immediately feels at home and safe. And attracted to her boss.
I really enjoyed this story about loss and heartbreak and - above all - family. The Brisken brothers now all 3 have their match (you can read them out of order).
One thing in this story I had mixed feelings about. Charles loses his wife, moves in with his parents to care for his 2 daughters and after their death his two adult brothers help out daily with the kids. He has a mansion, lots of money, a housekeeper and a full time nanny. And still Becky calls him a real 'hands-on dad'. Yes, he helps with breakfast and reads them bedtime stories. But come on. I know single moms with 3 kids who make breakfast, lunches and dinner, do laundry and go grocery shopping, clean the house, raise those kids etc. Do you really need 3 grown men to raise 2 girls when they also have a nanny? Okaaaay. Bit sceptic there.
BUT I did love the family vibe and the love between those brothers and nieces. I also liked the development of the romance between Charles en Becky. PLUS I appreciated that Charles' deceased wife still played a big role and always will be a part of this family. Most books will picture the first or deceased wife in a less favorable light, which I really dislike. Charles loved her very much and the way the author approached this subject was with a sensitive touch. Well done.
*** I received an ARC from the author for which I am grateful but this is my honest and voluntary review. ***
4.5 stars, a Single dad romance with a little bit of everything! Passion, heartache, drama, family...
Becky - such a sweet and caring woman, with a tragic dark past she's trying to run away from. She takes over the role of nanny to Mary (who is such a sweet yet feisty little 4 year old) and Sarah, when they're previous nanny (Patty) leaves to take care of her elderly mother. It's so heart-breaking to read all Becky has been through in her past. From neglectful parents, into the foster system, and then an abusive ex-boyfriend. Can the warm of the Brisken family help her open up and feel the love she deserves?
Charles - a widower who lost his wife during the birth of his youngest daughter. Day-by-day he lives by just going through the motions of work and raising his daughters, with the help of his two brothers, and alongside nanny Patty. So Charles is devastated when she announces she's leaving to help her ageing mother, and recommends her carer Becky as her replacement. His attraction to Becky is almost instantaneous, but can he find room in his heart to love another as he did his Natatlie?
As heart-breaking as it was to read his turmoil in trying to move on and love again, this book made the process much more believable than some I've read in the past. I often find sometimes the widow(er) seems to move on too quickly and almost forget their past.
Then Becky has the drama of someone from her past coming back to threaten the happiness she has found in the Brisken household. Is it her ex or someone else...?
Overall this is sweet romance, with a touch of angst and drama, and of course a dash of sauciness. Can't wait to read about Brad and Sonia's love-hate relationship in the next book of the series.
Mia Kayla has done it again. Although this is the Book 1 in the Brisken Billionaire Brother's set, it's sort of a prequel since it was chronologically the last book written. All the books are stand alones, but the writing style and family dynamics really make you want to see what happens to the other brothers in the following books. This book made me alternately laugh, cry, laugh again, cry again, and I stayed up until 4AM reading it because I wanted to find out the ending and yet not want it to end.
Charles is the typical first born oldest brother. He takes care of everyone and everything around him even at a high cost to himself. He can't stop or he may let people who depend on him down and if he stops, his responsibilities just might crash down on him and he might not want to get back up again. Becky is running from her past. She has secrets and scars and she can't let anyone know or she might put them in danger. She finds herself as nanny to Charles' two young daughters and attracted to their father and wanting to open up to him and let him protect and care for her the way he cares for everyone else. Charles finds himself attracted to Becky but in order to lover her, he needs to let her in and let go of his past so he can heal and move on.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. Even though I received an ARC, all of Mia Kayla's books are an autobuy for me. Her writing style is smooth and flowing and her plots are well thought out. The characters are well developed and you can imagine yourself sitting with them in their house. The Brisken family is a family that I want to be a part of!
