Čtenář nejspíš užasne nad drzostí a odhodláním vrahů, a u některých i ochotou jít až do krajnosti, aby svůj zločin dokonali.

Lubię takie historyczne podejście do różnych spraw. Historie były w miarę krótkie, ciekawe i szybko się je czytało.

Reading this part if how events effected history was enlightening. I really did enjoy reading this and think any history buff would also. Anyone in middle school or older learning the history of the world could get a clear view of how different events can drive the world in different directions.

Such are our bedtime stories . . . I would read an entry or two in this book so I could get my mind to slow down before bed, and it served well in that purpose, as morbid as it is. The entires were short with pictures. Some I had already read about, but others were new. There was just enough detail to make them interesting but not to much to be overwhelming.

An interesting book for readers who enjoy a more macabre form of history. Entertainingly written, Jonathan Moore tells the stories of the world's most famous assassinations in an almost satirical manner. After completing the book, I was surprised by how many of the assassinations that I was already familiar with.

I loved this short informative book, although it was a little macabre. You need a sturdy stomach for some of the details, but frankly I probably learned more about history this way than from any college class. Mostly unbiased writing, and always gave you plenty to think about.

Not for the faint of heart! This dense book is packed with a lot of greusome details regarding history's most famous deaths. Very informative and morbidly entertaining. (Am now wondering why my son chose this for my Christmas gift? -he cackling)

Doesn't just deal with history surrounding assassinations. Often uses autopsy reports to detail exactly how the poor buggers died.

Super interesting! And honestly a good, but dark, way of reviewing various moments in history!

This book should have been edited better. There were repeated mistakes and mix-ups with names. I did enjoy the photos and illustrations, though.

This book is beyond disturbing, seeing how incredibly inhumane people can become. I couldn't help but think; we humans are capable of acts that are so morally bankrupt and that you would never see such "animalistic" violence in the animal kingdom.

The biggest thing I realized while reading this book is how lacking my education was in the area of world history. Specially things that occurred in really the not so distant past that I felt like I should have known. Which means this book has definitely pushed me to make it a priority to add more of nonfiction books to my TBR.

However, I kind of had a love hate relationship with this book. There were parts of it that I devoured and thought were fascinating. Parts where I laughed at who ridiculous it all was, or something the author had to say. Other parts left me confused due to the fact the writing was completely clear. Though I'm not a hundred percent sure that was the writers fault. I caught a couple of editing mistakes. The same name used for the victim and the victim's brother. Which I guess could happen, but it wasn't made overly clear.

Still, I really thing the pros out weighed the cons here. The parts I liked, I really enjoyed. Not to mention the amount of research that went into this books was amazing! The photos were a great addition to the sections, especially for me when I had no idea who some of these people were. It didn't feel like I was reading a textbook, which is usually why I have a hard time with nonfiction.

As a whole it is a well put together book and I learned quite a bit. Though, I have to admit I skipped a few chapter on the assassination I did know a bit about. I was too eager to get to the pieces I didn't know.

Buy, Borrow, or Skip: I say borrow. There is a lot of interesting information inside, and it well researched. It's just not something I see myself reading again.

This and other bookish posts can be found on my blog, Bookish Whispers!
