Beast. Monster. Legend. But what's the truth about the man they call Nine?
Everybody gossips about him in Heart's Edge. Outlaw. Savage. Walking tragedy. A mess of ink and scars darker than his soul. A small town villain.
Yeah, I don't believe it. Because there are so many different stories. And Nine isn't a psycho beast-man in all of them. Some say he's a man still in love.
My name's Tara and I'm eleven years old. I'm not afraid of the dark. I'm gonna get the truth. This weird little town can't hide its biggest secret forever...right?

No True Legend is LIVE! Come meet the savage, mysterious outlaw named Nine and marvel at the secrets Heart's Edge holds when young Tara returns to town to visit her Auntie Hay and Uncle War. Big thanks to all my Goodreads lovelies for loving my books. This is a short encore novella in the Heart's Edge world I'm pleased to bring you for free.
Cute little novella slash epilogue to the author’s last book slash intro to her next book. The narrator for the majority is an 11 year old girl, and that’s a really hard voice to pull off, but it works here. The story has a bit of a Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon feel, and the set up for the next novel has me completely intrigued.
What better way to get a reader (me) excited for the next book then with a ghost story told from the point of view of an eleven year old, Tara! I loved this mystery and campfire like spooky story. I got to revisit old friends (Warren and Haley, Mozart and Doc) from No Perfect Hero; and learn a few things about a new character... Nine. He certainly has my interest and I am excited for his book. This was a short teaser story that did nothing by get me anxious for the next story!!
Oh and I forget to mention... that cover is EVERYTHING!! Hotness perfected.
ARC review For honest review. Tara 11yrs old is in hearts edge Montana visiting her aunt and uncle when she heard of of the legend of nine this is her story of what she finds out so very cute. I love this story.
Awesome novella and great return to Hearts Edge. Not to mention a nice transition to Doc's and Nine's stories. Might want to read No Perfect Hero to get a better understanding of the characters and story but the author did a wonderful job making sure it wasn't absolutely necessary. The mystery and emotions are wound up with this short story. It leaves you with questions and wondering if you missed something in No Perfect Hero. A great read and a great way to get a small Snow fix before the next book comes out.
After reading this appetizer I now need more…, much more…., ALL, the whole story!!! I don’t even know what to say… This short story promisses so much more. It is captivating, thrilling, mysterious and kept me on the edge of my seat. I loved Tara’s POV… it is refreshing to get to know protagonists from the perspective of an eleven years old girl.
Intriguing novella that gives more insight to the man/beast that's only whispered about in Heart's Edge: the entity known as Nine. He was mentioned in the first book of the series, No Perfect Hero, but no one in town really wants to talk about him.
Tara, however, wants to know more--and she's just stubborn enough to do something about it. This story is told from her young POV as she searches for answers to the legend of Nine. Because no one she asks will give her the straight scoop.
This short and sweet book is best enjoyed after having read the first book in the Heart's Edge series, although it's not completely necessary. But be warned: you will want to find out more about Nine and the other great folks of Heart's Edge in the next awesome book of this series, No Good Doctor.
This was a sweet story and left you wondering a little were the author will go with this. Yes, I see more to come.
I like seeing a story about Tara. If you have read any of the previous books, then you already know that Tara is Haley’s niece. So, I was a little surprise to see a book around Tara. But I have to say it was very refreshing as well. There is so much innocents when it comes to Tara and we get to see the turmoil she is going through. As a teenager and face with what she is faced with it has to leave her feeling so confused.
I loved her fascination with Nine. How she worked really hard to uncover this monster of a man. I also loved how she was working on facing her fears.
This was truly a great story and glad I got a chance to read the book.
This is No True Legend written by Nicole Snow. We get to spend some more time with Warren and Haley as Tara is spending some time at their house. When Tara gets wrapped up in the legend of “Nine” she gets a bit distracted during a walk through the woods. When a hidden faced man shows up to help guide her out she is wondering if death awaits her... could Nine really be the man who rescues her? Will she make it out of the woods? It’s only a novella but packed full of necessary info to this towns storyline. Don’t miss a word of it!
♥️🌼THE LEGEND OF NINE...♥️🌼 I re-read NO PERFECT HERO before I read NO TRUE LEGEND, and I was glad I did...I got reacquainted with Haley West, Warren Ford And Haley’s 11 year old niece, Tara Brenley....♥️🌼 NO TRUE LEGEND is a novella connecting NO PERFECT HERO with the next books to come in the Heart’s Edge Series, and it focuses on Tara as she searches for the truth to the little town’s legend of Nine.....It’s almost like sitting around a campfire and listening to a scary story.......but I can’t wait to read more about Nine....and, maybe Doc......♥️🌼
A delightful novella told in Tara's POV. Tara is your typical 11 year old girl, full of questions and wonder. She wants to find out about the legend of Nine. Is he man or beast? I loved revisiting the characters of Heart's Edge, Warren and Haley, Mozart and Doc. I felt a bit like Nancy Drew when Tara finds herself lost in the woods trying to unravel the mystery of Nine. This was a charming tidbit leading up to the next story in the series.
Well crud... Now I need more. And the book hasnt released yet. I love/hate situations like this. I would still recommend this for sure. Fast and filled with new questions. Happy reading! Rating 5 stars
This is a quick novella, which is about Tara who at 11 years of age, wants to uncover the legend that is Nine. This is a well written tale which is intriguing and emotional. I look forward to reading more, and recommend for all.
We get to learn about the legend of Nine in this Heart’s Edge tale that revisit Tara, Haley and Warren. Really entertaining getting the different stories for Tara’s school paper and meeting the real man.
This really sweet short story, We first meet Tara when she was 11yrs old so this is her POV as teenager and what she faces, which is filled of mystery, emotions and secrets. Loved it Nicole
Great short story to get you excited for the next books in the series! I've been wanting to read Doc's story, but this just made me super excited for Nine's too!! Can't wait!!
Oh wow! What a bonus read!!! Totally captivated by the Nine story, Loved the way it was told, Really need to know more about Nine and Doc, thankfully Doc is my next read 😁
