There wasn’t much I wanted out of life but having my bakery succeed, being able to continue doing what I loved to do, and finding a woman who could make me feel whole.
And then the moment she walked into my bakery, I knew there would be no other for me. For months, I watched her sit at that little table in the corner and read. For months, I thought of a million different things I wanted to say to her.
I might not have stalked her, but I sure as hell wanted to. I thought about it. Finding more out about Zara, and all the things I wanted to do to her, had become an obsession. Zara was gorgeous and curvy … exactly the type of woman I fantasized about having by my side.
But finding the courage to man up and go after what I wanted—her—was harder than I thought. I guess when you find the perfect person for you, the idea of being rejected could turn anyone into a coward.
Until one day I wasn’t willing to let her walk by without me saying something to her. I couldn’t stay away. I wanted more.
This was so much fun!!! It was sappy, sexy and cheesy. Would’ve loved it even more if it was a full-fledged novel but the short story itself was a enough.
What this book has: • Fat-girl main rep • Ya alpha male • Bakery goodness • Self-love • Since it’s a short one, the steamy scenes are sorta kinda packed in there • Epilogues (that were a little too long for my taste)
Now I need all the books with beautiful, fat girls that love themselves in them
This was a Jenika Snow classic for me. Steamy and cute with a totally safe happy ending.
Zara is an independent strong woman working in a male orientated world. Asked to arrange the desserts for an upcoming event as being a larger lady its inferred she would know the places to go. But as it happens she knows the perfect place to get them, she has been visiting a local bakery for the past three months and drooling not over just the delectable pastries and desserts but the baker too. She is drawn to Max immediately but someone as gorgeous as him wouldn’t really look twice at a woman like her or would he?
Max has worked the past five years to build up a successful business it has been his obsession but that was until Zara walked in to his shop, he knew that she was the one that he hadn’t even realised he had been looking for, too unsure to ask her out but when she comes to him with an order he decides it’s time to make his move. Could his ideal woman really have been right there waiting for him to make a move or will she reject him before he shows her how he feels?
Great book from start to finish, everything you could want from a possessive male to sweet and strong woman. Highly recommended read.
Max has been hopelessly in love with Zara from the moment she entered his bakery. Only problem is he’s never approached her. He knows something has to give or he’ll go crazy.
Zara enjoys her quite stolen moments as she sits in the bakery, she also enjoys lusting after Max the owner.
Unrequited love? Yes and yes.
These two are adorable and I loved watching their romance play out as I read.
The cover. (It shows representation, Plus size heroine in the story and with a plus size model on the cover)💯👍👏 🙌
Actually confident plus size heroine.👌👍👏 🙌
A plus size heroine who knows her worth.
A plus size heroine that likes herself (and her body)
No internalized body shaming.👍
No self hatred or self deprecating. (after years of work the heroine has learned to love/appreciate her body)
A “taller” plus size heroine (5'7).👍
A caring and sexy and sweet hero…. But also a little bit shy.
It is insta-lust and insta-love to a very high degree …. but it is still a great story…. With a good “message”.
Good sex scenes.
➖
A little bit too non-descriptive character description/depiction of the heroine (it would be nice with a little more detailed description of the heroine...other than her eye color and hair color and height)
I wish this story was a longer one with a little more depths to the main characters.
I wish Max was a tiny bit more Alpha and went after Zara a little bit more forcefully from the start.
A tiny bit subtle body-shaming from a couple of colleagues (more like assumptions)
I wish this story was a longer one with a little more depths to the main characters.
Max is fascinated by the beautiful curvy woman who regularly comes into the bakery. After spending five years doing nothing but work, all he can think about is her. Too nervous, he has wanted to ask her out but he hasn't and she has been coming to the bakery for months. When Zara is chosen to handle the desserts for a charity event at work, she can only think of one place to go. The owner is so hot but there is no way he could be interested in her, right?
Wow, Whipped should come with a warning label! It was so sweet, still off the charts hot as this is Jenika Snow we are talking about, but absolutely adorable! The attraction between Max and Zara is so electric, I got butterflies when he asked her out. I loved how he took every opportunity to show her and tell her how beautiful she was, how much he cared. I couldn't stop reading and stayed up way too late. Books like Whipped are why I will always love romance novels!
Max has his eye on Zara whenever she came into his shop in the corner sitting and working and sneaking peeks at him.. they are dancing around one another until Zara company kinda ask her order dessert (cuz she big she must know all the best foods she called them out on that go girl) cute talks.. and getting to know one another.. glad she didn't really feel insecure about her body so points for that!!!
I do wish Max was more Alpha and went after her more or tried to talk to her more.. instead of waiting.. he was very fun, charming and abit shy.. :/ but overall it was a sweet fun story :)
No ow/om drama, no cheating, sexy times, Virgin gal & not a manwhore guy
Zara was tasked with getting the desserts for a work event and she knew exactly where to go. She goes to the one place that has what she is looking for in both the desserts and the man. She has been secretly watching Max for months and what she didn’t know is that he was doing the same to her. They get the chance to work together and their relationship explodes from there. Let me just say there is a scene with whipped cream and if I had a man like Max, I would get over my dislike of whipped cream. I’m just saying. This book was a quick read that will not disappoint. I highly recommend.
I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
I just really couldn't find it in myself to care about these characters. The sexy scenes were pretty good, hence the two stars, otherwise I would given it only one star.
Max and Zara story is so romantic it will make your heart melt.
Max owns a small well run bakery which Zara frequents they have both have been dancing around one another until the day Zara goes in to order Max delicious deserts for the company party.
Finally he asks her out and from that day on there romance soars.
I think a few years ago I was a little more tolerant while reading this stories. All in all it was what you would expect, if you know the author. It was short, it was smutty, it was OTT sweet and sappy and absolutely drama free.
It also had a virgin heroine, eye roll, a supposed alpha hero, that didn‘t have the balls for months to ask her out, a promising but way too short sexism conflict in the beginning that was never even mentioned again (I know, what kind of novella I am going into, I don‘t expect any deep convo or discussion about that complex and heavy topic, but then why use to go into the story? Why bring it up at all? To show she has the guts to stand up for herself, but then STILL do as told?) Then there was almost 20 Percent of Epilogue, Epilogue,Epilogue - if you like that, this is for me, it wasn‘t for me.
And seriously, in a story that short, there are conversations like Mom, Dad, I met someone. Mom: Dad, did you hear that, she met someone! Dad: You met someone?
Okay, I like these short steamy stories but I feel like something is wrong with me because lately all of these books are just making me snooze off in the middle of them. It has to be me, right?! Shit.
These characters, Max and Zara, barely even looked at each other for a few months and already they’re saying it’s love, that they are “it” for each other. No spending time with each other aside from the heated sexual tension from the one day Zara came into Max’s bakery and they actually spoke for the first time. And then the book glosses over the other times they spend together but I feel I kinda needed to read that.
The rest is just sex, sex, and more sex. Even though both characters say “this isn’t just sex.” Well okay, could’ve fooled me. 😂😂
Zara is also... cue drum role... a virgin at 25. Yay for her being a curvy girl and all but sheesh. Why do they always need to have zero experience?! Though Max has been celibate for 5 years, he’s all muscled up and chiseled and tall and sexy. I mean, I’m glad for Zara that she snagged a hot dude but couldn’t he have been the inexperienced one for a change?
Okay shit, I’m ranting...
Nothing against this story or anything. It was cute. I did enjoy the HEA epilogues like always. Those drag me in, but the middle of the story was a let down for me. I was expecting a little bit more from this.
This was a sugary sweet light hearted read from Jenika Snow. I wouldn’t say it’s insta-love but in just over 150 pages obviously things happen at a quickened pace. I liked the fact that the hero was the pastry baker rather than the heroine-who from what I gathered is a confident and successful businesswoman-was a nice change from typical gender norms often set in romance books. The romance is sweet and the at the start of the book both have crushes on one another as she visits his pastry shop, but he finally get the cajones to ask her out that starts the ball rolling 😏 I enjoyed this book it was super light hearted and quick, perfect for an afternoon read.
3 stars. Super cute and sweet. I was in the mood for something adorable and Alexa Riley-ish until Amazon gets their shit together and puts my girls back up and this definitely delivered. It was a lot of fun and I liked Max and Zara. The fact that Zara was plus sized and took no shit from anyone and that Max owned his own bakery was enough for me to like them. Plus, the smut in this was really good. Overall a quick, fluffy read.
I love Max and Zara's story. It's hot but sweet at the same time. And I liked the idea of Max owning the bakery instead of Zara. Men can bake too, ya know! LOL I know I'm always going to love what Ms. Snow writes and I especially love how we get to see what is going on in the characters lives years down the road!!! That just pulls the story together for me!
I mean, it was nice to know what this was going to be going into it but holy hell it would have been nice to maybe see a bit of development in their relationship before it was just 10000%.
I don’t know. The idea was there, but I think the length really hurt it. If you want a quick, smutty read then have at it.
This book was okay, just not really to my taste. I like my romances to have a bit of tension, and this was basically puppies and rainbows from the start. It was just kind of boring. If you like quick, simple, happily ever after type of books, this one might be for you!
Why should I read ten thousand epilogues about a couple that I didn't even start to care about because there simply wasn't enough time? Why was there no real conflict? What was the point of this novella? Why?
