Egyptian Brogue is a humorous novel about a career pyramid builder named Brogue. Brogue gets into trouble when he shows his boss, Mr. Boss, his ideas about making some minor changes to the pyramid he is working on. Brogue is unaware of a law passed the previous day which made it a crime to make any changes to a pyramid or its plans. Since it's an official law, Mr. Boss sends Brogue to the Scribe Office for his punishment. At the Scribe Office he runs into a merchant acquaintance named Savanoir.Savanoir has secret (or not so secret) longings for Brogue's wife Helen. When Savanoir learns of Brogue's troubles, he sees an opportunity to have Brogue imprisoned for life so he can woo the beautiful Helen. Fortunately, Brogue escapes the Scribe Office with Helen and their friend Doug and Helen's brother Richard. After their escape they head out of Egypt on a boat for Cyprus, but that plan changes when Helen overhears the captain telling his crew about a mysterious land shrouded in myth. There they befriend a baker named Hath and his wife Merald. Hath and Merald, help Brogue and his companions settle into their new life, teaching them new skills and a new language. All is well for a time until Savanoir discovers where they have gone thanks to his faithful assistant Jack. Savanoir and Jack arrive in the mysterious land determined to capture Brogue and return him to Egypt. Savanoir seeks out a local resident for assistance and devises a new plan to capture Brogue, but Brogue, with the help of his companions and new friends turns the tables on Savanoir and send him back to Egypt empty handed.
