i love this book because she speaks her truth in depth from the very begining she puts you in a raw state of emotions and imagery that really helps you FEEL her and what she went through i felt like i was Vera while reading this i felt everything she was saying because of how she was writing it from the heart from her soul with no contemplation or crossing things out,or being stuck on what to write she wrote what was on her mind she wrote about 10 years of the bs she went through she shared her vulnerabiltys her strengths, she wrote out of rage out of pain and she made it beautiful i loveee it lol.

Highly recommend this book. I love how her writing is truthful and it’s a book every young women should read because of the toxic relationship. It would motivate young women and those who are in a toxic relationship won’t feel like they are the only one’s.

This book was amazing. While reading this i went through a roller coaster of emotions, from laughing, to crying, to “someone is trying to fight.” Also, Vera is the most chill person i’m so lucky to have been able to meet her.

Thoughts

It was an easy read. You could feel her hatred at the beginning of her novel and at the end she changes. Forgiving is the only way you will find peace!!!

I didn't like the start but the explanation at the end made it better.

What I liked about her was that she was local and really inspiring to a lot of the girls.
She was raised here at the barrio which made it more interesting for myself because not a lot of authors are local and from the hood.

Great book. You feel the author's pain as she tells her story. I have to read her othet book, Prison Letters: Walking to Honor.
