Teaching my 10 year old granddaughter about some of the early European explorers and their travel routes. Decided time to include women explorers of the world. I was familiar with Gertrude Bell, the Queen of the Desert, but not the others (Isabella Bird Bishop, Florence Dixie, Nellie Bly and Margaret Bourke-White). I added Amelia Earhart because I have always been fascinated by her aviation exploration.

This book is suitable for middle school and has some pictures and includes some vocabulary.

I am going to get a few more Women Explorers of the World books by Capstone Books.
