Scottish Formula One hotshot Ryan Jackson has always lived life on the edge. Fueled by adrenaline, it's hardly surprising the controlled, confident, and hugely successful driver has the world at his feet. He could have anything or anyone just by snapping his fingers.
By comparison, Ellie Cooper's life has never been easy. Everything she as she's worked damn hard for, including her career as a newspaper reporter. Not bad for a girl who has fought for survival all her life at the hands of a neglectful drug addict mother.
Little did Ellie know that, by rubbing elbows with the rich and famous, she would gain insight to the private side of Ryan Jackson that few people rarely see.
But when hidden desires lead to dangerous collisions, could it lead to a happy-ever-after?
Karen Frances' Collision is a fast-paced, steamy, contemporary romance written in K. Bromberg's Driven World Project.
Loved it! I'm often a little wary of 'world' books and whether they have a life and story of their own. I needn't have worried with Collision. Karen Frances has written a plot-driven story with the right amount of angst and sexiness to make this a page-turner. Add in K Bloomberg's characters from her Driven series and it makes this book a sure winner, a chequered flag winner in fact! Highly recommended for those who love a great pace, a winning storyline, believable and relatable characters. Five F1 stars from me.
Collision is another fabulous read within the Driven World. I love what Karen Frances brings with this one and the fact that we get a little Rylee and Colton too. Ryan is a big F1 racer and looking to show his fans that he isn't what the tabloids make him out to be. Ellie is an amazing writer who has the knack to work with the real story. Chance meeting and sparks fly for Ryan and Ellie. You will love getting know them both and see everything blossom together. I love the push Rylee gives Ellie when it comes to Ryan. This story is amazing and brought a few tears to my eyes as we get to know Ellie. I love the chemistry between Ryan and Ellie. I couldn't get enough of this one.
I really can’t believe this is the first book I have read by Ms Frances and I have to say that’s about to change as I will certainly be checking out other works by this very talented author. Ryan and Ellie’s story is part of Kristy Bromberg’s Driven World and what a fantastic addition Collision is, this story alone would captivate many readers but add in cameo appearances from Colton and Rylee and you get the perfect read. Ryan Jackson is a F1 driver who needs to prove to his fans that not everything you read in the tabloids is true, he needs some press to give him a makeover and show the real man and that’s where Ellie Cooper a local Scottish journalist comes in. Ellie is not used to being a sports writer but she is an amazing journalist so she agrees to go on tour with the team to the Monaco Grand Prix and spending time with the charismatic F1 driver was always going to lead to trouble..... I’m a F1 fan and this author really bought the atmosphere of the track, the noise, the twists and turns of a street circuit to life, she gave me characters I adored, a story I was engrossed in and a book that will stay with me for a long time. This book touched me on so many levels, it’s emotional, it’s witty, it’s believable and ir well written. I don’t want to spoil this book by giving to much away because I think you need to pick this one up with no preconceived ideas so all that’s left for me to say is please one click this gem, you won’t be disappointed. Looking forward to reading more from Karen Frances.
Wow my first time reading this Author and after this will not be last !! Brilliant story, well written completly immersed me and i could not put it down so finished it in one day. It made me smile, laugh and cry, emotions throughout were high and with more twists and turn than any Grand Prix track. Ryan, is a hot shot F1 driver, cocky, sure of himself and a player. Ellie is reporter and a women who doesnt know her own beauty and strength. She's not a sports writer but when she is assigned to do a series on Ryan you watch the sparks ignite an inferno. I would have loved the ending to have included a bit more on some of the characters Bethany, Mia, Claire, Dylan, Frank, Grace and also the "bitch" Felicity.
5 Star Review Collision (The Driven World) by Karen Frances I have no idea how I have not come across Karen Frances before. This may have been my first book, but it most assuredly will not be my last. Collision is Ryan Jackson and Ellie Cooper's story and is set in K Bromberg’s Driven World. From the first to the last chapter I was fully invested in the story that Ms. Frances wove. Of course it was wonderful to get glimpses of Colton and Rylee and that just added to my enjoyment of this story. Ryan is an F1 driver and is a man in need of good press coverage which is where newspaper reporter Ellie comes in. Tasked to accompany him on the circuit to the Monaco Grand Prix, Ellie knows that she may well be in over her head. This was a fun, entertaining story that ticked the boxes for me. There is also an underlying and emotional story that really hit home. It was handled well and had me in tears.
Collision by Karen Frances is part of Kirsty Bromberg's Driven World, and a fabulous addition it is too.
The melding of her unique style, blending Scottish characters with the jet set characters of 'Driven World' is artfully accomplished.
Staying true to what she does best, Collision is a Scottish novel with international flair.
Ryan Jackson is a Scottish lad who has made it in the world of Formula 1.
Unfortunately, his reputation is not world class and Ellie Cooper, a journalist for a Scottish newspaper, is tasked with the job of turning that reputation on its head to satisfy possible sponsors of a new venture.
In true romantic fiction style, an intimate relationship develops between Ryan and Ellie but their budding relationship is put to the test when unknowingly their, sometimes troubled, pasts collide.
Their ride to the checkered flag has a chicane or two to test their desire, for new challenges and each other, balanced with the hard reality of life in Glasgow to which they will both return, making their spot on the winners podium all the sweeter.
All in all, Collision is a great addition to K Bromberg's Driven World but most importantly to the catalogue of Glasgow born Scottish author, Karen Frances.
Ellie is a reporter that had a rough childhood but has found a great support system. Ryan is a playboy race car driver. Ellie is assigned to write a series of articles about Ryan and his incredible children’s charity. To say it was love at first sight would be a understatement. They literally burned of the pages of this book. I could not turn the pages fast enough. I truly Enjoyed this book.
Collision is a great addition to the K. Bromberg Driven World . Ellie is a reporter assigned to work on covering a story on F1 racer Ryan . Ryan is not what tabloids portray him. From the first moment these two meet sparks fly and they can’t resist falling for each other. Ellie had a tough childhood, there is no way you don’t feel sorry for her & your heart doesn’t break for what she went through . We get cameos from Colten and Rylee in this story. Overall the story was absolutely fabulous. It was heartwarming , captivating and unputdowable. This is the first time I am reading Karen’s book and I really enjoyed her writing style and will be on lookout to read more of her books.
Have you ever dreamed what it’s like to stand in Monaco and watch the Grand Prix? Those tight twists and turns, hairpin bends and how those drivers control the cars. The adrenalin that must course through them and the high at the end as they win and look for you in the crowd because you’re the one they will be looking for when they come off that podium.
Karen Frances takes us there and we are left in no doubt about what happens after, but what she also does is show us the human side of these drivers and the people they love. We meet Ryan Jackson, controlled, confident and sexy and with a hidden side that few know about. When he meets Ellie she’s already decided who and what he is and is knocked off her feet when she realises that he’s not what she thought. Behind the control is a man who cares, a man who wants to help. He shows Ellie that he’s worth the collision that their lives together will be because not all collisions are bad.
Overall Grade: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Karen Frances’s newest book, Collision, a book situated in K. Bromberg’s Driven World, is an insta-love, angsty romance that revs your engine. Frances is a new writer to me, as well as K. Bromberg. Given that I am new to both of these ladies but intrigued by the universe being curated by K. Bromberg, I opted to read this book simply because its qualities piqued my interest: playboy alpha-race car driver (I didn’t realize he was Scottish...SWOON!) hero, self-possessed, intelligent, articulate journalist heroine, and a meet-cute that sizzles. It seemed evident that there would be fireworks in Collision. For the most part, there were.
One of my favorite aspects of this book is that it is set in the UK. The hero is a playboy-ish, fast-driving hero. Yet, he’s Scottish. You may wonder why that intrigues me. Well, I read books all the time, and most of the time, the setting is the US. Having traveled through Europe last summer, I always enjoy revisiting places where I traversed. Plus it’s always intriguing to gain experiences from other countries. Just seemed like a positive for Collision.
Additionally, there is Insta-chemistry between Ellie and Ryan. From their first meeting, as I suspected, these two sizzle. It also creates one of the issues for me with this story. I know that fiction is imaginary. I get it. However, if an author makes the choice for the characters to fall instantly for each other, then I want it to feel believable. Ryan, an admitted playboy as Ellie’s purpose is to rehab his image through her writing piece on him, only has eyes for Ellie, and for most the book, I was curious why. Yes, Karen Frances offers up Ryan’s reasons, but I don’t believe them. Why her? While rehabbing his image, what piqued his interest in her that he wants her over other women? If a hero is promiscuous, I want to know what turns his head to a straight path.
There’s some forbidden with this relationship. Given that Ellie is reporting on Ryan, that they fall for each other makes for some questionable journalistic ethics. That forbidden, however, ramps up their chemistry even more, making it burn brighter.
This story is not linear at all. Belying Ryan and Ellie’s journey into a romantic relationship is a bigger story. This bigger story becomes emotional and adds a gravity to Frances’s romance. Ideas about family complicate the romance, and it creates additional fireworks in Collision.
Even more, one of the ancillary characters of the story, Felicity, is your preeminent Mean Girl, and her subterfuge adds another layer of drama to this journey. While we are not meant to like Felicity, without her, the forbidden aspects of this story would not exist, and the tension necessary in storytelling would be lost.
Obviously, Karen Frances’s crafted connection with K. Bromberg’s Driven series in an overt way through Ryan’s burgeoning relationship with Colton and Rylee hits on feelings of nostalgia for Bromberg readers and illustrates Karen Frances’s ability to write within and outside of Bromberg’s universe in a meaningful way. While I haven’t read the Driven series, at no point did I feel lost when Colton and Rylee join the story.
Karen Frances’s Collision is a fast-paced romance sure to speed your pulse. From Ryan and Ellie’s banter to their chemistry to their journey while challenged by outside issues, Frances makes it easy for us to turn the page. In the end, Collision finishes first at the finish line. If you love K. Bromberg, you will absolutely want to read this book.
Ellie's been handed the assignment of a lifetime - go with an F1 team to Monaco so she can write a piece on their resident bad boy driver, Ryan Jackson. She may not know much about racing, but once she meets Ryan, she knows he's trouble, to her heart that is. But she can also see through to the real Ryan, and she intends on showing the world his true self, too. She just needs to keep her heart safe from falling for the man...
In true Driven style, Collision is fast paced, exciting, and steamy. Ellie and Ryan are a good couple who just needed to work out some demons before they could find their happiness. Of course, outside forces and people didn't help matters, but they persevered, and made it through. This is definitely a worthy addition to Bromberg's Driven World.
This was my first book by Karen Frances, and I absolutely loved it. I loved it from the first page to the last!
It made me laugh, cry, needless to say emotions were high throughout the whole book!
Ryan is a hot shot f1 driver who's cocky and is known for his player ways. Ellie is a reporter who was asked by her boss as he believes she's the right person for the job, with her experience to help change his image. She unfortunately continues to doubt herself in every other area of her life, she doesn't know her own beauty and strength.
She's hired by Ryans PR guy, Les to help Ryans image. To show he's not that playboy, and there's a lot more in life that matters to him.
The storyline was brilliant. There were a few things I didn't see coming which made the book so much better!!
This is definitely not going to be my last Karen Frances book!
I would like to thank the author Karen Frances and Greys Promotion for providing me with an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
This story is a fantastic addition to the “Kristy Bromberg Driven World” and is Ryan and Ellie’s story. Ryan is a star F1 driver who needs a makeover to prove to his fans that not everything is gospel when written by the press. Ellie is a journalist for a newspaper, but she is not a sport reported, however, being a good writer, she is assigned to write about Ryan. Agreeing to go on the road with his team for the Monaca Grand Prix, Ellie and Ryan get to know each other and the chemistry between them is sizzling. This is a well written flawless fast paced story which is filled with witty banter, twists, emotion, and is a steamy all-consuming and riveting tale. I was totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I recommend for all.
Ryan and Ellie's story is a collision course of epic proportions, one that should explode but somehow fits together perfectly gliding through each gear with perfection.
Ryan F1 driver needs an image overhaul when Frank sends the reporter closest to his heart and one less likely to jump into his bed Ellie. The issue is his can his seduction and charms overcome this woman or is he really the player the tabloids print?
With twists and turns galore a crash of events is about to hit but can Ellie and Ryan deal with the events and overcome the obstacles they have been thrown or is life in the fast lane just one race too much to deal with?
A page turner which keeps you gripped from the the green light, and you don't want it to stop. Amazing
Collision is a part of the Driven World and my first book by the talented Karen Frances. Ryan is a Scottish formula 1 driver that has a reputation for being fast on and off the track but is this the real man. Ellie is a writer that has no interest in bad boys or there sports and she is now given that job of writing a series about the man behind the race. A chance meeting in the ladies room sets the stage as Ellie discovers the more time she spends with Ryan in his world the more she realizes that he is much more than she could have ever dreamed . This book has a bit of everything that I enjoy instant attraction, beautiful characters, sassy witty banter, angst and so much emotion! ~~Michele McMullen ~~
When it comes to her performance on the track Formula One driver Ryan is a success but the same can’t be said to his reputation off the track. He needs to mend his image and what better way than some positive press.
Ellie may be a reporter, but sports and entitled athletes are not her forte. Although she has her doubts, she needs to write a story that will help the public see that there is more to the man than his reputation, but she may be the one that ends up surprised.
There was no denying the chemistry between but between their pasts and the fact that their relationship is becoming more personal than professional things are about to get complicated. Both Ryan and Ellie are compelling characters, their banter is humorous however the story still packs an emotional punch.
Ryan and Ellie's story is part of K. Bromberg's Driven World series.
I have not read anything by Karen Frances before, but this was a nice intro to her storytelling and writing style. I thought the story and characters fit perfectly within the series.
Ellie and Ryan had a lot of chemistry and you can tell that there is a connection between them despite their different backgrounds. I really enjoyed watching them find their HEA!
Thank you to the author for providing an ARC for an honest review.
4.5 stars... Alright y'all Ryan and Ellie are up! There chance meeting amd all the sparks flying watching them getting to know each other. I loved how Rylee gave Ellie a little push towards Ryan was cool. These two of course have some ups and downs they have some past issues that come up. I was really shocked with how well the ending wrapped up and there was a sad few moments but so much happiness also. I really loved the ending.
Collision is a great contribution to The Driven World series. The storyline is engaging, well written and I thoroughly enjoyed it. And man oh man did the chemistry and sparks fly between Ryan and Ellie! The cameo appearances by Rylee and Colton made this book that much better! I‘m definitely looking forward to reading more books by this author.
I absolutely loved this story and felt it was a great addition to the Driven World. Ryan and Ellie drew me in like no other couple has in a long time. Once started I couldn’t stop reading and before I knew it I was at the end of the race. 5 fabulous stars and a massive well done to the author on fitting in so seamlessly to the KB World.
What a ride. Ryan is a famous F1 racer and he has the reputation of a playboy. He needs a kick to to reputation. Ellie is a reporter who knows very little about sports. She is the safe choice to keep it professional and get the job done or is she? A fast past story that has twists, turns and emotional drama. Parts of the story will break your heart.
Ryan & Ellie captivated me from the first page and I was consumed by their story.
Ryan & Ellie had great chemistry and banter. Ryan & Ellie were imperfectly perfect for each other. Their journey had ups & downs, but it was all worth it in the end.
This is the first book that I have read by Karen Frances & it definitely won’t be my last!
Collision is A Part of The Driven World. This Novel will keep you on the edge of your seat. It's Fast-paced and steamy. Collision should not be missed by readers.
Thoroughly enjoyed this fast paced story. Ryan and Ellie aren't looking for love, but it found them anyway. But when their pasts collide is their unexpected love strong enough to survive? You'll need to read to find out.
Let me start by saying in late the the driven world. I haven't read any of the other books in the series, but this one has made me want to start from the beginning. I've loved every minute of Collision. Ellie and Ryan were very likeable. I liked the characters, the plot, and the setting. Karen Frances has a great way of weaving a story that draws you in. I look forward to reading other books in the Driven world.
Wow Ryan and Ellies story pull at my heartstrings got me very emotional at times but its an amazing book i recomend it.
Ryan was a hot alpha racing car driver, that goes after what he wants and expects to get his own way.
Ellie was a journalist that got put on Ryans PR team even though she wasnt a sports journo.
Ellie and Ryan shared a hot and spicey kiss at a charity event after he seeked her out. At the time she did not know she was going to be working for him.
The charity events and organizations that Ryan works with, is very close to Ellies heart.
Based in Kristy Bromberg’s Driven world, Collision is the tale of Ryan and Ellie. Cocky Formula One hotshot, Ryan Jackson, is intrigued by Ellie Cooper from the moment he sees her. While Ellie isn’t typically attracted to bad boys, there’s something about Ryan that is different. Talented reporter Ellie is tasked with writing a series of stories on Ryan to rehabilitate his playboy image. Working together, Ellie sees the private side of Ryan and finds he is a good man with a good heart. Their professional relationship quickly turns into much more. When their pasts collide, will Ellie and Ryan be able to survive the collision and recover to find a path to their happily-ever-after?
I enjoyed the racing aspects of this book. The racing atmosphere comes alive in Collision. The Monaco Grand Prix serves as the perfect backdrop for Ellie and Ryan to fall in love.
Driven fans will love seeing Rylee and Colton again. They play a central role in the book and help Ellie and Ryan navigate their fledgling relationship. Fans will also notice quite a few similarities between the two couples.
I thoroughly enjoyed Collision. Hot chemistry fuels Ellie and Ryan’s fast-paced relationship. Plus, their steamy romance faces many twists and turns that keep you engaged in their story.
I volunteered to provide an honest review of an advanced copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
Author K. Bromberg has written a note to the reader – please make sure to read it.
Ellie has been given a chance to do something important. She has a friend named Dani that I enjoyed getting to know. She may even get you to chuckle a time or two. The author has a secondary character who will tug at your heart. She could also bring a tear to your eye.
Ryan is into both fast cars and fast women. If you’re a racing fan, you may enjoy his job. His attitude, not so much. I wasn’t sure what the author was going to do in order to get me to like him but then I see that she gave him a humanitarian side. So, he may not be so bad after all. If you are like me, it may take you a while to make a final decision. I actually enjoyed the push and pull between these two and was disappointed when the pull actually happened. I liked watching Ellie stick to her guns.
The author adds in a little mystery. Sometimes a mystery can overtake the story that’s all about the main characters but our author did a great job of not letting things get too deep. But you do want to know if everything turns out all right. And that’s why I was surprised by how the author penned her Epilogue. It did, however, have me looking forward to what this author may come to create next.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
5 Stars Review by Elizabeth Late Night Reviewer Up All Night with Books Blog
Yes, yes, yes!! Collision is the first book by Karen Frances that I have read but it is also the first book I have read in the KB Worlds!!! Collision is everything I thought it would be. Excellent.
In Collision, we get to meet up with Colton and Rylee again but we are also introduced to Karen’s characters, Ellie and Ryan. Holy smokes!! Ellie and Ryan are downright freaking amazing!! I could not get enough of them together.
Ellie is everything a character should be and more. Not only is she perfect for Ryan, but she is also the sweetest with a hint of sass. Boy is she sassy and she does not have a filter. My kinda girl.
Anywho, Collision has a lot of things going on within the book. There really isn’t much I can divulge in without giving something away and I don’t like doing that. I can for sure say that there are some twists and turns in there that I did not see coming. Karen was able to weave it all together and leave you satisfied with the way it ended.
Collision is worth every single click it gets!! I cannot wait to read more from Karen Frances as she is amaze balls!!
** ARC provided in exchange for a honest review **
Collision by Karen Frances is set in the Driven World created by K. Bromberg and was a whirlwind of a story you got caught up in from the very first page!
Ellie had me charmed from the start. She's strong yet empathetic, her no nonsense attitude, her care and affection for those she loves, all of it made up a lovely package of a woman who I'd love to be able to call a friend! (P. S. Everyone needs a Dani in their life, I love her!)
And Ryan? GOODNESS GRACIOUS! He was fiery and feisty from the start, confident and sure of himself, yet something was telling me there would be some delicious layers to reveal there.
The banter and conversation between Ellie and Ryan had me chuckling, taking moments to breathe deeply, rest breaks for some ice cold water, and sometimes wanting to reach in and smack one of them upside the head. It was hilarious and enthralling and touching and charming and aggravating and delightful!
I adored this story from start to finish, and the character development was beautiful to experience! This is one heck of an emotional rollercoaster ride of a journey and I loved every heart racing speedy second of it and I know you will too!
