I wasn't the only woman in the world who had been cheated on. I certainly wasn't the only woman who had sworn off men because of it. I was, however, one of the few who was willing to stick to my guns about it. Men would sometimes see that as a challenge, but before too long they would realize I wasn't interested.
I planned on staying single forever, and nothing, absolutely nothing could possibly change my mind. Even a chance meeting with someone as wonderful and gorgeous as Max Blair didn't faze me. I wasn't attracted to his looks, fame, skill, or ambition. I was perfectly fine getting to know Max as a person without adding all the complications of dating. Sure, I was a little starstruck at times, but I had that under control. And then again, maybe I was a little attracted to him, too. But who wouldn't be?
The problem was that he seemed to like me.
Even still, I would stay single forever.
Forgetting about Max Blair would be a piece of cake.

The Whole Story was amazing. I downloaded it less than 24 hours ago and couldn’t put it down (except for some required sleep). Max and Story are such fun characters and I can’t wait for the next Blair brother’s story.
What a beautiful love story between Max & Story. Trust is hard when I'm the past has shown you different. I'm glad Story was able to trust Max and fall in love with him. A very well deserved ending for both. Brookes's story's are beautifully written.
This is definitely an adorable and loveable love story with fun and charming characters that will steal your heart with their giving hearts as they journey towards unconditional love.
This book is about a baseball athlete who's been cheated on and a man who's well-known in this game, falling in love with each other.

Thoughts and feelings:
🍁This book is the best one out of this series so far. I enjoyed the story quite a bit. Honestly, I didn't have any expectations going into it because Max barely makes an appearance in the other books I read, but he's well flashed out here. He's a man of respect and honour. He's an athlete. He speaks with manners, and his actions speak volumes of his character. I loved seeing his banter with the heroine and I quite liked seeing the two come together and grow together whether in terms of the way they deal with other people or interns of the way they face life's challenges and their fears.
🍁The heroine is a confident woman with hopes and dreams. Honestly, I saw her as the outgoing, free soul in this relationship. Max appears a bit shy and cool and quiet while she breaks the ice. I loved seeing her face her insecurities.
🍁I enjoyed the humour and banter in this book. I found myself swooning at times and grinning at others. Maybe the last few chapters dragged the story a bit, but I still think that this is a solid read.
I had a free copy of this book, but this is my voluntary and honest opinion. Max Blair is a sports agent and goes to Arkansas to sign a new player. While there he meets the player’s cousin, Story. Story lives in Seattle and Max in Portland, but he can’t get her out of his mind even though she told him she doesn’t date and isn’t interested in marriage. An uplifting story about trust, and commitment.
This was not my favorite of the series thus far. Max is a retired ball player who now scouts future ball players. The gentleman that Max scouted's cousin, Story, has written off all men due to a couple of bad relationships. Basically, Max ends up being patient with Story and she comes around...HEA! I'm hoping the next book keeps my attention better.
Emotionally packed story about Max and Story's love.
Max and Story's last were sad at points. Neither looking for anything. They meet and things change. The story is full of ups and downs of emotions. They go together so well but live in two cities. Love this story about this brother.
A wonderful book about Max and Story. Read how they met when he visited a client about to sign with a baseball team. They spent the next few months emailing and texting and talking by telephone. Max planned to meet up with her at his brothers band performance and she set him up with her trainer. What can Max do to win her over? Read to find out.
I enjoyed Story and Max's story haha. Abuse mentioned in backstory as well as a client. A lot of personal growth on both parts makes this an enjoyable fast read. Story's family is a lot of fun in Arkansas and we know Max's family is as well,.so this was just a great read with all the humor and add in some sports and chemistry and we've got, well, a story
An amazingly sweet love story. It has a nice flow and the main female character really did intend to avoid romance and stay single. She holds her ground, but not so long that it is annoying. Clean, contemporary romance.
I really enjoyed book 1 of this series, but felt like book 2 wasn't of the same caliber. Happily, this story, book 3, is more like the first. You don't need to read the others to enjoy this one - it stands alone just fine.
Max is a great guy - but then he's a Blair brother & not only are they all swoony, the whole family is awesome.
Story is impressive in her own right. She's attractive, athletic, confident & fun.
They each have their own damage to work through, however.
The great thing about Brooke St James' stories is that the characters work through their problems like normal, real life people, so they communicate with each other instead of the usual romance tropes of misunderstanding & running away. So refreshing.
The happily-ever-after epilogue is fun, too. It made me laugh.
Clean romance level: passionate kissing, true love waits, but the physical intimacy of some of the kisses is welcoming temptation - limit to older, informed teens at best
This was a different type of romance story. The book could have even been called ‘the reluctant heroine’. It was funny to see how much Story was fooling herself into thinking she was indifferent to Max as more than just a friend. Personally I’m a sucker for a good baseball love story so I was thrilled to read this story about Story & Max. I love the descriptions of Story as an outfielder catching these amazing shorts. I think the measure of a person can often be seen by how they come back after a life altering experience. In the case of these two characters it was beautiful to see their inner strength. Rating: PG In this book two scriptural principles from the Bible are included but in such a way that people of any background can enjoy the book without feeling preached to.
Wonderful, as expected from Brooke. I'm an avid romance novel reader and have several favorite authors that I follow. Usually, after I finish, I rate them 4 stars - or less if even slightly bored or the story is redundant or too over the top or too rambling or too preachy or too much explicit sex. This book was a 5 rating for me. Max and Story's story (I'll always remember the name) kept me interested and totally with them in the particular moments in their lives. I felt as if I was in their minds, in their presence, and could actually see their little smiles and body language. Not too many authors accomplish this, no matter how great their skill level in other areas. If you're hurting even a little bit, Brooke's books are a balm to the soul.
