Recent college graduate, Brandon Evans, intends to make his mark in the business world and sees real estate as his ticket to the top. He targets a neighborhood of elegant, yet antiquated Victorian homes occupied primarily by elderly residents. Along with streetwise conman, Todd Simms, he concocts a scheme to entice the seniors to sign over their properties, and interests nearby Saint Anthony Hospital as buyer of the land for their future expansion. But hospital administrator, Katherine Cramer, has ideas of her own and taps her political at city hall. Thus begins the struggle between the power brokers downtown and the powerless homeowners of Kessler Park.
Good story, but I didn't like the handling of two of the main characters. Also it was hard to reconcile the "real" Kessler Park area with the fictional city of Atherton.
