Its one of my favorite books. Each chapter starts with a NUGGET OF TRUTH, a small quotation aphorism or a single line of advice which the author elaborates in easy language in a page or two using the experience acquired from years of speaking, training and helping others fulfill their dreams. Every Nugget is a source of sound wisdom, proven insight and practical principles, which can be used and applied in daily life.
I was recommended the book by colleague. I saw it was cheap, so I thought why not. Cc
I won't lie. It's simplistic, but very charming and suffice to say very motivating. Not the best written. It feel Mason has just been accumulating quotes from groundbreaking and fab ugh folk. It should be read like a nugget a day. I wish I had. Instead sped through it in the end. It might appeared dated, but you can see past that easily, just because its compact easy to read and rather harmless.
Read this offering from John Mason in “fits and starts” as it offers nuggets of advice that should be taken in, allowed to savor a bit and flavor your thoughts.
This is a fantastic book. With hundred or so nuggets, its a single page devoted each nugget. It includes wise sayings all accumulated to reinforce the nugget idea. Kudos to the author for the painstaking research on quotes, sayings, poems. Its a very encouraging read. If you know a pessimist, somone down, or going through a tough time, this book is an excellent pick me up, which reminds you what it takes to be successful and that the best is yet to come.
Awe inspiring nuggets by the author. Every day before bed coffee/tea, I read these gems to keep myself ready for the days challenges. Must for everbody who is serious in life.
One heck of a book. My big brother Tyler gave me this book as a gift for Christmas in 2014. I am so very happy that he did since this has been such an excellent read, and very uplifting, inspiring, and motivating. Some of my favourite parts include the Nuggets on procrastination, accepting criticism, envy, pessimism vs passion, purpose, serving others, giving, persistence, imagination/creativity, and many others. I have taken away a few great quotes from this book as well such as Martin Luther King, Jr's, "if a man hasn't discovered something tat he will die for, he isn't fit to live." Benjamin Franklin's, "one day today, is worth tomorrows." How about Charles Caleb Colton when he says, "he that is good will infallibly become better, and he that is bad will as certainly become worse; for vice, virtue and time are three things that never stand still." I really liked what frank Outlaw said, "watch your actions; they become habits; watch your habits; they become character. Watch your character; it becomes your destiny." There was also some great bible verses that struck home. Some of them are Proverbs 28:13, "A man who refuses to admit his mistakes can never be successful, but if he confesses and forsakes them, he gets another chance." Proverbs 14:30-32, "A relaxed attitude lengthens a man's life; jealousy rots it away." And lastly, my favourite verse from Ecclesiastes, "Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might." Again, this was a very enjoyable book and recommend it to anyone looking to get motivation and inspired out of any rut or miserable state or situation one finds themselves in.
