Definitely a hellish good time.
The latest in this series has definitely been the best overall. While the other books are practically required reading to understand what is going on with the massive ensemble cast, this is the first book that has really kicked the narrative thrust into high gear. If you're into anime-style action, tantalizing sex scenes and strangely descriptive meal descriptions, this is the series for you.
So why give it 4 stars? Well, there's quite a few grammatical and spelling errors that seem to happen at unfortunate times and rip you right out of the immersion. On top of that, while the author has gotten into the groove of sitting certain cast members out of the main plot for large portions of the books, the character expansion of most of the menagerie of the MC is precariously thin at times as well. Except of course, for Jacob's impish sidekick Todd. While his antics are toned down in this book dramatically, most of his monologues still wear out well past their humor value. I've almost gotten to the point of these books where I subconsciously skip his segments to get back to Jacob and his girls.
That being said, still looking forward to the next book and what the author does with the cliffhanger ending here.
