I think the only cross-dressing manga that does a less believable job with its core premise is Uwasa no Midori-kun!!, Vol. 01, which, it must be noted, I also enjoyed.

I told myself I was going to sleep after two volume yet here I am reading a third one.
Volume recap: beach trip, Juri tells Mito his feelings, Mito finds out Ruka made her an apology cake, jealousy bc other girl confessed to Ruka. Ren confesses but fireworks drown him out. Elder vampires doing things. Ruka and Mito kiss. Ren finds out Mito’s a girl.

Ein netter Manga für zwischendurch. Die Storyline ist ein wenig "drüber". Humorvoll ist er aber auch. Die sich anbahnende Dreiecksgeschichte ist jetzt nicht sooo meins. Aber was ich toll finde ist der völlig normale Umgang mit demnThema Diversity. Ich hab an manchen Stellen mit den Augen rollen müssen und hin und wieder am IQ der Charaktere gezweifelt aber dafür ist der Zeichenstil wahnsinnig toll 😍 ich werd die Reihe auf jeden Fall beenden ☺️

Uh Oh!
Well, Mito is in a jam now! Not only did Ren just see that, but other vampires are after her and wanting to get rid of her so that Ruka can find his destined partner. Ruka, though, has decided he doesn't care about his destined partner - he wants to be with Mito. Mito of course is more in love with Ruka than ever and we have an official love triangle.

En bref, si vous aimez les shojo feel-good et mignons et que vous n'êtes pas réfractaires aux triangles amoureux, cette saga manga est surement faite pour vous !

I’m sorry not sorry for the pun, but when this book’s playing it straight it is a lot less fun then when it leans into the absurdity of its situation.
We’re pretty much at the point where this would be full stop yaoi if one of the male characters didn’t happen to be a girl in disguise (a disguise still so implausibly effective that she might as well be transmogrifying). Even still, it mostly feels like that was an authorial excuse to tell this story - most guys and girls don’t split desserts with that much sexual frisson.
So you’re now at about 85% melodrama with vampires and 15% of the fun goofing around with the premise. It’s so oddly toned that I can’t even tell what the intent is any more. I think the scene where Mito goes to the beach (boy that swimsuit is something) is meant to be for laughs, but then there‘s a similar scene at the fireworks that seems to be dead serious.
Don’t get me wrong, the book is oddly fun, it’s just weird how it has an escape route built into it so it can be as gay as possible and still have a heteronormative pairing.

Can’t wait for the next book!
I’m enjoying this series! I’m not sure who to root for in this triangle! Ren is the miss understood bad boy and Ruka is the next on line lord! Too bad she can’t have them both, but that will be greedy! I’m more for team Rex!

Je remercie les Éditions Pika pour l’envoi de cette lecture. J’avais si hâte de lire cette suite. C’est un de mes Shojo préférés de l’année ! Le problème, c’est que maintenant, je n’ai qu’une envie, que la suite sorte enfin !
Mito se fait passer pour un garçon et personne ne le sait encore, elle a réussi à garder cela secret. Le souci, c’est qu’elle s’est dernièrement rendu compte qu’elle avait des sentiments pour Luka. Face à cette réalité, elle préfère fuir et demande donc à Ren de l’héberger.
Luka devient évidemment fou en ne trouvant pas Mito et la cherche partout ! De son côté Ren commence à être de plus en plus attiré par Mito. Luka va rapidement passer dans une rage folle quand il va découvrir où se trouve Mito…
Les Shojo de vampires, avec un triangle amoureux, c’est classique, mais avec moi ça fonctionne parfaitement. J’ai l’impression de retomber en adolescence où un rien me faisait rougir et me mettait en émoi !
L’histoire reste toujours prenante. À côté de cette histoire de triangle amoureux, il y a toujours le souci que Mito se fait passer pour un garçon, ce qui personnellement me tient en haleine, car je ne cesse de me demander à quel moment son secret sera percé à jour.
En bref, l’histoire continue et j’aime toujours autant ce manga. Plus les tomes passent, plus je deviens folle de l’histoire et surtout de Ren. Oui, je dois bien l’admettre, j’ai une petite préférence pour notre dhampire. Puis mon dieu, la fin de ce tome ! Il me tarde d’être en février pour découvrir la suite de ce manga !

This story is so absolutely ridiculous but it has a certain charm... I wish it didn’t have the cross dressing thing just bc I feel like some of the message is less significant (“loving someone no matter their gender (identity)”) bc of the “yeah well Mito is really a girl anyway.”
I am three volumes in and I am genuinely not sure if the servant and the progenitor are the same person, and there’s no clue in the introduction bios... I didn’t when the progenitor was first introduced, but then one of the little side bonus comics made me think they were, but no matter what I do I can’t tell. The servant seems to have shorter hair but I guess if they can shapeshift, they could change their hair too... and I’m very confused as to why the vampire lord would behave like Ruka’s servant....
I’ll probably continue but I think I’ll wait for a sale on later volumes at this point since there’s nothing so pressing in the story (despite the gasp! cliffhanger at the end) that I feel I can’t wait for.

The cross dressing thing is dragging on too long with Ruka, but those last two story pages had me practically sitting, "FINALLY!" as at least one of the peeps gets in the know. Although I think the snake knows, too. The final bonus story made me LOL. Juri is adorable. Overall, I'm glad I've kept going with this series. (And I'd totally rather see her with Ren.)

Avec ce troisième tome, j’ai retrouvé avec plaisir l’univers du manga Vampire Dormitory qui est assez intéressant depuis le début de l’histoire !
Mito se rend compte qu’elle a des sentiments pour Luka mais elle n’envisage pas lui avouer pour le moment. Elle va demander à Ren de l’héberger pour qu’elle puisse s’éloigner et réfléchir à la situation.
Le problème c’est que ce dernier est intéressé par Mito, mais évidemment elle ne s’en rend pas compte. La situation n’est pas prête de se simplifier pour eux…
Si vous n’êtes pas fan des triangles amoureux, la tournure que prend l’histoire risque de vous déplaire mais pour ma part, j’ai bien accroché et vu la révélation de la fin, je suis impatiente de connaître la suite !
Le prochain tome est prévu pour février 2021 et je suis impatiente de pouvoir me le procurer et de le lire ! ♥
