I met the man of my dreams at a friend of a friend’s wedding. It was everything I didn’t know I wanted in a man, tall, tattooed, bossy. His life is complicated. Married with a daughter. But things are not as they seem. I didn’t want to love him. He kept trying to push me away but like a moth to the flame I kept being drawn to him. I love him with all my heart, he is my life. Life is complicated, love even more so.
My name is Penny Blush, I love all things book and book related. I’m hoping that the people who make the James Bond movies will call me to ask to use my name as the next Bond Girl *Fingers Crossed*
When I’m not hoping for the Bond people to contact me, I usually can be found with my nose in a book getting lost in a story or thinking about stories I would like to write.
I’m Australian, I love to sing, and Christmas is my favourite time of the year. I believe in magic, fairies, the power of the universe and that everything happens for a reason.
Basically, I’m a crazy person, and I’m ok with that. At least my life is not boring!
I really liked the continuation of Davan , reading this book had me in a emotional bottle to were I really didn't know what to do but to continue reading till the very end . The characters are good but could be a bit frustrating . This can't be read as a standalone I highly suggest that you get onto book one as soon as possible . Davan would be the first two books that I've had the pleasure of reading by the author and I can't wait to read more by her I hope that this isn't the last we see of the couple .It also answered alot of things that were left unresolved . There are some pretty steamy scenes that will have you heart beating super fast . If you are looking for a story that will give you one hell of a ride this is what you need to get like right now . I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book **************************************** hero= 9 heroine= 9 secondary characters= 9 Chemistry=8 steam= 6 romance= 4 humor=3 darkness level= 4 action= 3 mystery= 3 enjoyment= 9 angst=3 story line=9 Story ending=9 character development=9 pacing= 10 cover= 10 Blurb = 10 Stars = 4 Is this part of a series =yes Can it be read as a standalone = yes would I recommend this book=yes would I re read this book= yes would I read future books by this author= yes
Blush has done it again. Before reading, have your tissues handy! Be careful where and when you read this, as others will definitely be looking at the emotions, I guarantee will be on your sleeves! When a writer can make me feel strong emotion; I feel they've done their job! Ms. Blush did her job and then some! I have not read the first three books in this series, but they're on my TBR list now!
Have you read Davan Pt 1 yet? If no, then stop reading this review right now and go click on it to read. Why should you? 1) Just trust me 2) No spoilers, bruh!
Today was a good day, my gosh did I freaking cry at the beginning of this book. Tears freaking everywhere. I am not even really that emotional of a reader but seeing that one day in the eyes of so many different people was beautiful and heartbreaking.
This book ties everything together from the first book and we get a sense of what will truly become between Pia and Davan since EJ is out of the picture. I can tell you guys this is not a freaking fairy tale, it is real life and it is hard. I loved that the author went through all of the struggles so this was not sunshine and fairy tales.
All in all, this book was a great part 2 of a duet. It answered questions and tied it up with a bow. Even though I have not read the first 3 books in the series, I never really felt like I didn't know what was going on which I liked as well. The romance here is hot and steamy but it is also pretty freaking deep. One of my favorite parts is the POV from all of the characters even Miss Tilly! I 100% recommend you reading this book and checking out the Barber Shop Ink Series. I loved this book.
PS: I received this book as an ARC but am voluntarily reviewing it!
I received this ARC for an honest review Reading Davan Part 1 is a must before you even pick this book up. After being left drained and totally heartbroken in book 1, it continues into book 2. I kid you not, this book will take you on such a roller coaster ride. You feel each and everyones emotions. You cannot escape it. To have an author write such an intense duo novel shows an amazing writing talent. Davan's heart is literally broken in two at the death of wife/best friend and you ride each and every emotion. Add in the relationship of Seaphina, it becomes what keeps him from totally falling apart. That and his love for his daughter Matilda. Through the heart ache and sorrow a strong bond of love is forged and the journey that Seraphina and Davan take is not your ordinary love story but its one that is forged from a selfless giving woman who knew that they should be together.
Now that I have had the chance to read them in order, book two starts up with Davan and Pia together and happy. But reality invades once again as EJ takes a turn for the worse and Davan has to be there for both EJ and Tilly. Pia, completely understanding of the situation is ready to help out in anyway that she can. But can Davan forgive himself for what he feels like is failure to help EJ, for the fact that he feels like he let EJ down in her time of need? Will he snap out of the funk before he loses Pia as well?
This whole book is a ball of emotions! This shows the natural grieving process and how not everyone grieves the same way. Once again lots of tears were shed while reading this story. I give this 4 stars.
This book is emotionally heartbreaking but also uplifting conclusion to Davan’s story. Davan’s heart is literately broken with the death of his wife/best friend. When he’s at his lowest the friendship with Pia keeps him from really falling apart and letting his grief consume him, well that and his love for his daughter Tilly. My favorite portion of the book was when the author wrote the story from Tilly’s POV. Davan part 1 and 2 were the first books I have read by this author and I want to go back and read the previous books in the series. The author blew me away with the emotions and love story between the characters. I highly recommend this book!!!
Is it a bad thing to say a kid was your favorite character in a book? Lol! Not really but she comes so darn close.
This story was everything. It will stab you in your heart and will tear apart any hold that you may have thought that you had on your emotions. If the Davan Duet does not capture your heart and soul, then you just don't have one. A man who falls for a woman at first sight, but he is married and with kid. It totally isn't what it seems. The wife is sick and it all is about to go down. The love and the laughter that this book thrusts out is just unavoidable, just like the rest of the series.
If you have no read any of Penny's work, what is wrong with you?!?!?
Here continues th love story of Raven and Pia... But first... Grief, pIn, Anxiety, sorry, anger... So many emotions when you loose a love one. Nothing prepares you for this.. get your Kleenex because a few onions will be opened at your home. Me nooo...,you are crying.ok I did shed a few.ok a lot. Tilly is growing up. Remember she is not a baby... An intervention is also needed. But not a bad one. all part of this process. Can't wait for the next story. We need babies, cousins and siblings for Tilly. I This is very captivating. Don't forget to read Raven part first.
This is the perfect ending to this two part tale about Davan and his family. Each character has their unique voice and I loved all of the different points of view. I truly loved the scene from Tilly's point of view. This author managed to capture her so perfectly. It amazes me when authors can write a child's perspective about such adult seeming things so true. I loved how Seraphina was able to help not only Davan, but Tilly as well deal with their grief from losing EJ. Beautifully written and so many emotions felt in this book.
This book was perfect, it was heartbreaking and emotional but it was also so uplifting and a great way to conclude Davan's story. Davan deals with the loss of his wife, but also his feelings for Pia. Pia is there for Davan while he griefs and she sorta helps him to start healing and move on. These book Davan part 1 and 2 were my first books by the author and I will say I love how this author writes and I look forward to reading more from her.
This is the fifth book in this intriguing series and the second and concluding story for Davan and Pia. Davan part 1 needs to be read first, as this is definitely not a standalone!! This is a beautifully written story which is an emotional roller coaster throughout, as well as answering questions, which all lead to a heartbreaking, steamy, intense and powerful story. I was enthralled throughout, and highly recommend for all.
In this book Davan ,Pia, Tilly, and the all the rest are brokenhearted at losing EJ. Davan takes it the hardest and goes about things all wrong but with the help of his family and Pia they may be able to save him before its too late. An amazing emotional read with a few twists and loads of support and love that will keep you wanting to read more and more. I can't wait to read more from her. Truly an amazing read
This is the second part of Davan's story and I have been where he was , losing your best friend and spouse not wanting to go on, but one thing helps and that is kiddos his is Penny and Pia , Pia loves Davan and is there to help when he wants to just give up. And Tilly wow I loved seeing things from her point of view.
The perfect way to wrap up Davan's story. Like the first, it is emotional. So be prepared for that.
For me, this second part was much more intriguing than the first and really pulled me in. Grief and heartbreak on multiple levels is consoled by the support of family and friends and an incredible amount of love.
You couldn’t ask for a more emotional, heartbreaking, deep all consuming love, than this book. Just as good as part 1. Except with a hurt and determined little girl! Tilly will put the adults in there place, make you cry, make you laugh and help you fall in love with this family.
Part one was amazing, I felt part 2 was just a recap of everything from part 1 could have showed some life down the road where davan and pia got together and how they were doing and how davan was managing and how tilly was doing but still a great book!
