Bryson had worked for the print shop for ten years. However, he had no knowledge of the owner’s dirty dealings. When the new owner stepped in, he was happy to still have a job and was eager to help in any way he could. What he hadn’t expected was the jolt he received when he shook the new owner’s hand. In that moment he knew two things, she wasn’t human, and she was his mate.

Blaze, one of the late Queen Dante's birds prey, is trying to correct a wrong done to her and many others in regards to a product they paid for. In doing so, she meets one of the employees, Bryson, and knows instantly what he is to her.
Bryson hasn't had an easy life, what with his mom abandoning him and his younger sister, and their dad being a loser that has used up all his chances with them. But when he meets his new employer, he quickly realizes things are looking up.
Being mates, and to one as powerful and old as Blaze, is an adjustment, but Bryson is eager to start this new journey. However, it soon becomes apparent things aren't what they seem and, with Blaze's help and that of her sisters, Bryson must face some hard truths about what he thought he knew.
Can Bryson accept these new discoveries? How far reaching will the consequences be? Who will find their HEA next?

'Blaze' is book two of Kathi S. Barton's "Queen's Birds of Prey". Imagine my surprise when I'm going through my books and records to realize I'd somehow missed reading and reviewing this one!!! This is where we get to know Blaze, Queen Dante's hawk while continuing the journey of Mercy, the Queen's falcon, her mate Joel, and we see a bit of Piper, the Queen's Phoenix. Oh, and Blaze meets her mate Bryson and his sister Clara. As in most of Ms. Barton's books, there are shocking secrets that come to light within Bryson's family. One in particular that shocked me more than the others. You'll know which one it is when it's revealed to you as well. I love the chemistry between this author's Hero and heroine. Her stories always take me through all the drama, angst, intrigue, and the sigh worthy romance that makes those few hours melt away while I'm lost within her world. What more could any reader ask for?

Blaze is the hawk of Queen Dante's birds of prey. She like her sisters was granted immortality and has done a great many things in her lifetime. Her current passion is making toys, at least it is unless she's being ripped off like she currently is by the print shop that makes her blueprint designs. Blaze only expected to confront the man about the faulty blueprints and then be on her way. But things never work out as expected, and now Blaze finds herself the new owner of the company. She also has another surprise waiting for her inside her new acquisition...one of the employees is her mate.
Bryson has known struggles from an early age. Having his mother walk out on him and his younger sister and a loser father who's convinced he'll hit the next jackpot with his gambling ways, has left Bryson feeling more protective of his sister and a bit jaded. When his place of business gets a new owner who seems to want to see the company succeed and only has her employees best interest at heart, Bryson is shocked to discover she's more than just his new boss...she's his mate, someone he was convinced he would never find given he's almost 40 and was still single.
Blaze and Bryson may have accepted what fate put in front of them. But Blaze isn't one to take to threats, especially when it involves those she loves. Bryson's father is going to find out one way or the other that Blaze won't take things lying down. But there's also more at work and Bryson will soon discover everything he's known his whole life is just a big lie...
This was an awesome book. Had some things pop up that readers wouldn't expect to happen.

Loved Bryson and Blaze
Blaze knows Bryson is her mate as soon as they meet. While Bryson doesn't question Mercy, he feels it too, he does have a hard time with his new found wealth.
Bryson 's dead beat father is back in town and he is causing trouble for Bryson and his sister.
When Blaze and her sisters start digging into the past, they find that Bryson 's father has lied about many that this and his sister is not who he though she was.
Fast paced and a little steamy. Loved Blaze.and Bryson.
Blaze knows Bryson is her mate as soon as they meet. While Bryson doesn't question Mercy, he feels it too, he does have a hard time with his new found wealth.

Birds of prey
Good second book, needed to read first one again to understand all the family members. Good story about blaze and Bryce nice to catch up on the others. Little confused about Clare/dawn will need to read again how it came about. Look forward to the next story to see what adventures they all will have.

ARC - Blaze
I received this book as an ARC. I have loved reading all of Kathi S. Barton's books/series. Blaze is part of one of her latest series, Queen's Birds of Prey. This book does not disappoint. I was unable to stop reading until I finished it. If you love family, shifters, and good working to overcome bad, you should add this to your to read list.

I so love this new series oh totally now that this is the second book I am totally sold 100% I can dream away and birds shifters woman at that it's just so great and intriguing I think this new series is my favorite of the few new ones she has now

This is another great read by Kathi S. Barton. This series is intriguing and can't wait to read books 3-6 in the series.
