Don’t miss the last three stories in Nora Robert’s classic Stanislaskis family saga.
CONVINCING ALEX
Daringly bold soap-opera writer Bess McNee figured the only way to understand a character was to stand in her shoes. But when Alex Stanislaski arrests her for soliciting, she has a change of heart. She decides to follow the sexy detective around to get “ideas” for her show. Nick is absolutely perfect for her research…and maybe for herself as well. Now all she has to do is convince him she’s right…
WAITING FOR NICK
Frederica Kimball has three goals now that she’s moved to New York find her own place, become a Broadway lyricist and get Nick LeBeck to fall desperately in love with her. Though Nick has always treated Freddie like a little sister, he can’t help but notice the gorgeous woman now standing in her place. Perhaps everything he’s ever wanted is closer than he could have imagined…
CONSIDERING KATE
Dancer Kate Stanislaski Kimball has come home to make a fresh start. The only thing more perfect than the beautiful—dilapidated—building she’s bought for her new dance school is Brody O’Connell, the frustrating contractor she’s hired for the renovation. As a single father, Brody is determined to resist Kate’s effortless allure. But how long can a man hold out against his own heart?

CONVINCING ALEX - Alex is a police officer who arrests Bess, who is a writer for a soap opera and is doing research for a character. Bess is flighty, rich, and an intelligent spitfire. Alex is very jealous over all of her ex-boyfriends, and was ready to propose to her but finds her in the arms of one of her ex-boyfriends. Roxanne, a hooker Bess is working with to help her get out of the business, is killed. The tape recorder Bess gives her helps solves the case of a serial killer.
WAITING FOR NICK - Freddie has had a crush on Nick since she first met him as a little girl. Nick's composing of music takes off, and Freddie comes to New York with step-by-step plans to get Nick to fall in love with her and to let her do the lyrics for his new score for a Broadway Show starring Maddy O'Hurley (another great series by Nora Roberts). They do fall in love, but Nick's past catches up with him, which puts Freddie in danger. Great book.
CONSIDERING KATE - Kate is Natasha and Spence's daughter, who is a lot like Freddie - stubborn and goes after what she wants, which is Brody and his son, Jack. She hires Brody to renovate a building to use as a dance studio. Lots of past on both parties.
I love Alex and Bess story best, of the three stories in this collection. It is more engaging and Noraish.... than the last two. Alex as a police officer didn’t think he had a chance with Bess, the classy soap writer and rich family. He sure did as we see, with his good looks and charm. Good read all round and a good bargain.
This may be my third time reading these books. Nora Roberts is such a good writer. She layers her characters all the while giving us action and writing us into the stories she creates.
I come back to these books any time I’m in a reading slump. Nora Roberts, these books are like a comfort blanket to me.
This is a delightful series. Had it in paperback first, now have all 6 in my Kindle. It’s great to go back and enjoy “the family”. The second generation is almost as good as the first generation. Reading “ in order” is best, in my opinion, but not required. You’ll want to, because you will enjoy meeting the whole family!
I thought I had read all of Nora Roberts older books but found I hadn't read this series. I got this book at a bargain and I highly recommend it, even at full price!
I like the romantic ideas in these books. After reading more than one, the plots seem the same. Boy meets girl. One of them pursues while the other seems obliviously unaware.
Nora Roberts at her best. She can bring the characters alive and make the readers feel like they are part of the scene and action. I would love to have a family like the Stanislaskis. It would be so much fun.
Evidently a good story does and Roberts delivers with Brody and his father and between Brody and Katie. Good arguments are essential in life and in storylines.
Marvelous! What I hate is that there may never be another Stanislaski book. There's no mention of this....but just MAYBE.... Well-written, very vivid scenes swirled throughout....I felt like I was part of the family rather than reading about them. Thanks, I have been entertained every single page!
